Could Sub domains damage our SEO?
The impact of the users interaction with the search results will be interesting to see. I'm certainly interested to see how the sub domain search plays out. It will be interesting to see how the search result pages perform in the serps. If we go ahead i'll keep the mozers up to date with the effect.

SEOmoz bot and "noindex"
aha! thanks, yep exactly the issue/ Seen the response from Aaron Wheeler "so perhaps we should also exclude those noindex pages from issue calculation as well. That's in the next couple of months, though." Think I'll drop them an email to remind them At least it's not an issue then with our site.

The case of the attempted server hacking and it's effect on SEO
1stly Google might notice some hacked pages and flag them as potentially harmful. But your main problem is these: potental client will most likely not come back if they tried once and failed google might have tried to access a page and had looong loading times or a server error when trying to load a page when a client loads a page and the server is under a DoS or simular attack the server will slow down and the page load speed will do the same resulting in bad loading speeds. All of the above and more that I probably forgot will harm your SEO efforts and end user experience, harming trust. some of the above you should be able to see in GWT and GA. in particular the loadtimes and HTTP error codes, bounce rates ex.

Thought provoking discussion on perfect synonym keywords
Even when phrases have the same meaning, there can be different reasons to prefer one phrase over the other. An exact match will (and in my opinion should) be given preference. The phrase could be a name of a movie or book or be contained in a speech. Ultimately a decision needs to be made on how the results will be offered and this is what SEs (not just Google) have determined is most helpful to users. I would guess Google would offer a relevancy rating to each phrase. I can see how "Golf Holiday" and "Golf Break" could be used to refer to the same thing, but I would suggest the relevancy of those two particular phrases is a bit low. A person could work 4 hours in the morning, then take a "Golf Break" and hit 9 holes, then return to work. I wouldn't refer to that as a "Golf Holiday". An example of terms with higher relevancy would be "mobile phone" and "cell phone". I would suggest that 95%+ of the time these words mean exactly the same thing. But you still have to give people credit for exact name matches with domain names, titles, etc above those who use the second form of the phrase. There often is a reason a user chose the phrase they did and could prefer an exact match.

Wordpress when to use posts or pages
You can think of your Wordpress Pages and Posts, think of hard and soft landscape elements. HOW DO I USE PAGES? Pages are like the boulders of your website. They anchor customer expectations, and provide a semi-permanent structure for your site. Typically pages answer the big questions "Who are you?" "What do you do?" "How can I get in touch with you?" and so on. When paired with solid navigation architecture, pages also keep important information easily available for visitors. HOW DO I USE POSTS? Posts are like the annual flowers you put in for a splash of color. A steady stream of posts shows visitors and search engines you have relevant, up to date information. Posts can also provide interesting new reasons for visitors to come back to your site after the initial visit. They allow you to capture more long-tail search traffic, and give you an opportunity to list your blog in RSS directories. Posts also have a shorter shelf life than pages. Once they are replaced by new posts, old posts will always be available in the archives, or accessible via search. However, it can be more difficult to locate old posts as compared to pages. FUN WITH POSTS & PAGES: Wordpress has interesting features available for pages and posts. For example, let's say you have a page explaining a specific line of EMD services. You can also create an EMD category to collect blog posts related to that service. Using that EMD category, you can collect these posts into a feed and embed that category feed into your EMD service page. The result is a static page for your EMD service, which also includes your latest EMD posts. Good for your visitors, good for search engines.

Where is the best place to put your FB 'like' and G+1 buttons??
I'm going to set this as an "Ongoing Discussion", as I'm not sure there's one right answer and it's interesting to see a mix of experiences. I'd lean toward the end of the content for a blog post, if only because many people don't want to endorse until they've read or at least scanned the material. If you put it in a fixed position, like the right column, and they scroll past it (if that column doesn't move), they might forget to go back.

Canonical tag vs 301
page 1 points to page 2 that points back to page 1.. this or simular situations will make fubar for Google you can actualy do the same with 301's but it's wayyyy easier to notice.. the rel is allot harder to notice if you do something wrong since it only affects google/bing

Idea for the Best Method of getting REAL Keyword Search Data
A good way to get real keyword data is to run adwords campaigns for the exact keywords, yet it is never going to be exact due to demand increases and drops over time.
