Booking Engine: Folder or Subdomain?
I personally would use a subdomain for tracking purposes. A folder may make tracking visits, roi, etc. difficult.

Best strategy for optimizing Facebook annotations in Bing & Yahoo
I've been testing a few solutions, but nothing has changed yet. It may be an issue of Bing's index and timing still, so I'll wait a few more days before trying something new. My facebook page id was correct in the open graph meta tags, however the URL linter said it was displaying twice. On another website I own, Bing properly attributes my fan page, without any open graph mention of the page id. Assuming it just follows the links that reciprocate. So, I've dropped the page id from my problem site to see if bing can make the connection on her own.

Separate .mobi site or make .com site mobile friendly?
You're welcome! I think having a temporary option is great if there's enough mobile traffic coming to your website that you know it's vital for your customers. You can always put a "full, un-optimized for mobile" site link to allow mobile users to get out of the mobile interface if they can't find what they're looking for in the temporary mobile site.

Anybody tried the content syndication network SYNND?
This is shady, but it probably would leave very minor footprints. It also would likely deliver you few if any quality links unless you create quality content. Good link building services come from good link building agencies. Go take a peak on the SEOMoz recommended list - http://www.seomoz.org/marketplace/companies/recommended

High PR networks look like they are gaining traction - and working!
I want to say that I 100% agree with Ryan, but I will play devil's advocate. There is a time and place for everything, including black hat SEO. If your goals are well-aligned with short term success, then black hat SEO is probably the cheapest and most effective option you have. To me, link building isn't an ethical consideration, but a business decision. If black hat tactics fit my goals, or my clients' goals, and everybody is aware of the risk involved and all of the options at play, then why not? There's no doubt about it - these are paid links, and as Ryan said, they will eventually be addressed by Google's Webspam team, and when that happens, you're going to lose a large share of your link portfolio (at best) or receive a penalty (at worst). But there is no Matt Cutts fairy that haunts black hatters at night, preying on them as they dream of paid links and content farms. It's economics, plain and simple. I don't know what industry you are in or what your exact situation is, so it would be presumptuous of me to completely rule out black hat SEO strategies. That said, I've yet to encounter a situation where I've needed to resort to black hat tactics, for personal projects or client work. Just sayin...

Got social accounts , how can i get followers and relevant users?
This is a loaded question. Even the most brilliant and informative bloggers had to grow their web presence the old-fashioned way: by continuously providing unique and useful blog posts. You have to love what you do/write. Thanks to the recent Panda update you can start off on the right foot by simply providing real content that people want to engage with. Some things you can do to build a following: Since you're a web developer maybe you could publish some custom code-work you have done. Include a section on your blog entitled "downloads" or include a call to action button somewhere. A lot of organizations use "white papers". This establishes your credibility. And for people to view your custom code maybe they have to sign in first and then it's emailed to them. This is easy if you're using WordPress. There are many "register to download" style plugins available. codecanyon.net is an incredible source of WordPress Plugins. There are especially useful for social media A no brainer is to include share button so people viewing your posts can post to their social network profiles. Guest post on popular blogs. Include a link back to your website. If you're post is informative and "unspammy" then most likely the blog owner will include a link to your site (most likely "nofollow" but the point is to get like minded people to your blog) Enable direct posting to Facebook from your blog. You can kill many birds with one stone. You can see here the amount of plugins just for Facebook. Integrate Facebook commenting for each of your post. (where users can "sign up" for your blog through their Facebook account) The dev community is extremely discerning about crappy content. Come out of the gates swinging with enough content to post for 3 months. WordPress has a great "schedule post" set up.

Footers... Good or Bad?
Hi Justin. Footer links are read last as web crawlers read your page. Anchor text is associated with the first link that is found on a given page. This is important to know as links are often found in your navigation bar, side bars and content so the anchor text in the footer does not get applied. Footer links are also devalued from a SEO point of view. They do not have the same weight as other links on the page. Search engines understand footer links are the least visible and least used links on a page. You should review some analytics to determine if any of your footer links are actually used. It can be useful to offer a handful of footer links. Stuffing 30+ links in your footer is not helpful for SEO nor your users. Take a look at the SEOmoz footer links for a reasonable example. In summary, you are not penalized for having many footer links unless they get to the point where they appear spammy. But you are algorithmically disadvantaged by adding any unnecessary links as you are taking away PR from flowing to the more important links on your site.

Is Bing an Important search engine for traffic
I agree with Julian; follow the same SEO tactics that you would on Google. All search engines are important... Google has a higher importance because it has so many more users, but I wouldn't negate Bing/Yahoo. If it brings you more traffic, even if it is little, it is still traffic and that can be converted into a customer.

SEO Virgin - how shall I start ?
SEO encompasses many things and it keeps changing. It's easier to understand all of the articles on this site when you can visualize the process step-by-step. That's why I recommended Dover's book. He covers the information from a consultant perspective. Watch all of the Whiteboard Fridays. You shouldn't need much background information to understand them. And most of them are only ten minutes a piece. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/category/33 Pay particular attention to Rand's Whiteboard Friday discussing the new Panda Update and what it means for SEO: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-googles-panda-update-changed-seo-best-practices-forever-whiteboard-friday
