Tedious is what SEO tends to be at times. In addition, reciprocal links will do you very little good. I'd suggest making some content that people will link to. If you have a nice page that you want to link to your site, make sure you make some content that they will like specifically and you should get a nice link. Reciprocal links get very little value from Google, and are generally low quality. Mike

If you just want the directory page removed from SERPs, but not the images, you can put a meta noindex tag in the of the page (see here).  It'll look like .  Provided you link to the images from other pages, you should be in business. I don't think it would hurt your rankings at all.  I would exclude it as you don't want people wandering in to your site on a directory page.

Hey Justin, Basically the bots follow the links so it might follow example.com and example.com/index.html once it get to your actual page it then reads the canonical tag which indicates which version is the correct version to use. Hope that helps

The thing is, lots of really crappy techniques like links from really awfully spun articles do work and did so even more historically. That said, it is in no way a reason for you to build these kind of links as the engines are focused on getting this garbage out of the index and you will just end up chasing your tail. There are a couple of ways to get in content links but the big job is creating the opportunity by building a relationship with the owners of the website. Try identifying some link candidates, emailing the site owners or maybe following them on twitter and try to get into a position where you could offer some guest content (with a link back of course). Not easy but take solace in the fact that if your competitors links are garbage, they are easier to beat. Hope it helps Marcus

Depends what type of website you have is it a brand then I would opt for a .com domain if it is a more fun style site then go for the .net. to be honest do not worry a whole heap about keyword rich domains and domain buying if the numbers are close.

What's the minimum amount of page or domain authority to go for? Are there any scores that would be too low? Is there a way to assess whether competitor's backlinks are indexed in google using OSE?

You could do that too. The win/win is to always try and do something that's also of high value to the user and good for the search engines at the same time.  As long as its of value to someone visiting the site, go for it!

That's quite good.  The test is certainly no joke.  I'd say they are already way better off than 90% of the "professional SEOs" in this business if they understand the fundamentals that SEOmoz stresses in that test.

I think that is not an question for a q&a Forum. Its basic SeoKnowledge http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo If your content is public(crawlable). Its important that the dynamic content ist optimized automatically. (Title, Meta Description, Html Markup, and so on)

Thanks for your answer Bryce. I was going to replace the occupational page with an occupational health services page so all of the relevant content under it will still be within a relevant category. What do you think?
