How spam score will be calculated for the domain without any content or backlinks?
Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. Spam Score doesn't update with the same frequency as the rest of the data in Open Site Explorer, so it's entirely possible that the score you're seeing for your old domain is outdated and no longer accurate. It sounds like it's been long enough that the backlink info for that site has fallen back out of our index — linking data is only stored for around 180 days — but the Spam Score hasn't been updated yet. I would expect to see the Spam Score for the old domain change after that metric updates again. Unfortunately, I don't know when that will be — I don't have an ETA for when Spam Score will be updated next. Sorry about that! If you still have questions, drop us a line at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to sort through everything with you.

What happens when most of the website visitors end up at an "noindex" log-in page?
Hi Linda, So, if we noindex the popular page of our website, what difference it is going to make at Google beside that page not showing up in SERP. Actually I have replied to the related thread to your post below: https://moz.com/community/q/log-in-page-ranking-instead-of-homepage-due-to-high-traffic-on-login-page-how-to-avoid Please suggest. Thanks

Wrong titles for site links of my website.
If I search normally, I can't replicate this, but when I run the following query: site:find.exchange "about about" ...I'm seeing a page with that "ABOUT ABOUT about" title, even though a normal search shows the correct display title (for the same exact URL). Looks like the cached version also has the correct title tag (?) Not sure what SVG Tim is referring to, but it's worth checking out. Google is clearly picking up some odd cue somewhere, but this is definitely an unusual case and I'm not seeing it in the text anywhere on this page or even on a duplicate page on your site.

SEO advice on ecommerce url structure where categories contain "/c/"
Hi Hampus, Thanks for the question! If I were to choose, I'd prefer this option: https://www.granngarden.se/husdjur/hund/c/**hundfoder** Mainly because, like you, I prefer shorter/cleaner URLs and am not a fan of repeating the same words. I don't think there will be a negative SEO impact of removing one of the category name words because the repetition is unlikely to be helping that much right now. If there was a valid reason to have it repeated, then my view may be different. But that doesn't sound like the case so I'd say to go with the shorter URL. I hope that helps! Paddy

An International SEO Conundrum
Thanks for the advice Gianluca! That would be ideal (not even create a clone). The problem with that approach is that the UX would break if a user lands on the Russian versions and then tried to navigate to a page which doesn't exist (like a none translated page in the top nav). How would you handle that? Not too worried about crawl budget as it's a very small site. Would you agree there is no cause for concern for a site which only has around 120 pages? Good idea re "implementing the hreflang and setting it up to "en-ru" for the English pages targeting Russia and simply "en" in the ones targeting the English speaking users in the rest of the world."

Number or percentage of new visitors impact Google rankings?
In general, new visitors are better than returning for many reasons, but whether their number will improve your positions depends on the source of traffic. Direct, paid and referral traffic will not affect your rankings directly. There are few cases where spikes in referral traffic improve positions, but this effect doesn't last. Organic traffic will, this falls under user behaviour category, if your CTR is growing and your Bounce Rate is in check, your positions will improve.

Cannibalization Vs Relevance
Hi Andy, I like to promote people making more content that is relevant to their business. I always feel that Google likes sites better when they have fresh content. Also, large sites can tend to get more backlinks to the various pages and categories. PageRank is still very important in ranking well. You can try to segregate your content into separate sections for the major categories of your content and then branch out to all of your categories. For example, if I was writing about cars that would be a top category, and then maybe I would have a subsection for each manufacturer like Ford, Audi, General Motors, and the list goes on. Then I could break the categories down by model for each manufacturer. Then under models, I could have 4 door or 2 door models. The list could keep going almost forever. Google will understand the structure and give every level in the tree PageRank and authority for its major topic. Because PageRank is generated for all of those pages and as long as they are linked correctly all the way back up to the main index page the whole site should be relevant and move up in the rankings. Remember you can control the flow of energy by using internal links using specific "Anchor Text" to further control the meaning and relevance of your links. This would be considered "PageRank Sculpting" by most people and is still effective if done correctly. Try to create highly targeted and relevant content to attract "High Value" links to your internal pages. Also, outreach to relevant sites can help get powerful links that will boost you up in the rankings. Here are a couple links to articles regarding PageRank that may be of interest to you. Why google does not remove my page?
Hi Jorge, Backing up Gaston here, submitting that to the 'Remove URLs' tool in Google Search Console should do the trick and the Noindex tag will keep it out of the index in the future. It is possible this page is still in the index because Google has not recrawled it since you added the tag. Have you checked the latest cache? You can do so using the "cache:" (without quotes) search command infront of the URL you want to check (example). If you ever do need Google to recrawl (or index) a page, you can request they recrawl your URL using the 'Fetch as Google Tool' in Search Console. Hope this helps!

Website Snippet Update in Search Console?
Hi Jeremy, Sounds frustrating, have you submitted feedback for this result? If you do so, you can specify that the name is not correct and provide the accurate name. I've just submitted that feedback myself for you, I recommend you and DK Pittsburgh Sports provide the same feedback. At this point, there just seem to be a lot of signals indicating this is the brand name. Anchor text of links to the site (including the old domain which is redirecting here), online mentions using "DK on Pittsburgh Sports" (example #1) and company listings that still say "DK On Pittsburgh Sports (example). There are several years worth of content and links out there that indicate the brand is DK on Pittsburgh Sports. I think this is going to take time but you should focus on acquiring quality links using the current brand name as anchor text, seek out online company listings using the old name to update and even request that old articles be updated with the new brand name. Claim and verify your location in Google My Business and make sure that links to the current website (using the correct company name). I also suggest modifying your 'organization' schema to include the name field (current markup does not include that) and update the 'name' field in your website schema to "DK Pittsburgh Sports" as it currently reads "DKPittsburghSports.com". Hope this helps!

Better use Google Analytics? This is for Conversion Rate Optimization purposes
Hi Roman, Please could you explain briefly why those steps are important? Is search queries what they search on google and then come through to our page? If so, would linking some Keywords research be really useful here? Source of traffic is really important, how can I easily manage a large site where not all UTMs are set up? I also need to differentiate between paid and organic listings. What are your tips in doing this? Your help is greatly appreciated!

Discourage search engines from indexing this site AFTER a site launch
I would just leave that box in wordpress checked off or use the meta robots noindex tags on all of your pages. When you want the site to be indexed remove the tags and fetch your pages in GSC.

API for On Page tool
Thanks for that. Is there any other tools that provide this function right now that you are aware of? Or is there any material out there that allows you to take a peek under the hood on Moz On Page Grader? Or any open source stuff?
