Non-wildcard SSL risky for SEO?
Yeah, I'd say that, if Google is typically indexing the "www" version, then you're probably ok, but you can't guarantee that. 301s/canonicals should help, too.

How can I track performance of several pages in Moz?
Hey! Dave from the help team here, If you are trying to track just a handful of specific URLs, probably your best option would be to export CSVs and filter out what you want to see. You cant create a custom PDF report to show just specific URLs. You can set it to show like "top 50" performing URLs or in page optimization you can have it show specific keyword/URL rankings. Hope that helps, feel free to reach out to help@moz.com if you have tool specific questions as well!

400+ deleted pictures, 404 on URLs, can they be deleted without penalty?
No problem, happy to help If you are on WordPress, then I'd highly recommend Yoast's premium plugin as you can set up 410s via the plugin (see screen shot attached) - it's super handy! If you're not using Yoast premium, then it is probably best to chat to your web developer. I hope that helps! Cheers, Casey b07EdSL

Thousands of 404 errors
Hi Dexter, Very interesting one indeed! If it was me I’d look to run the site through Screaming Frog and also do a Google site:yourdomain.com search to ensure none of these fake URLs are being indexed. If they aren’t indexed then you should be pretty safe According to this: https://www.seroundtable.com/404s-google-quality-signal-23568.html Alongside the custom 404 page mentioned above, perhaps you could consider creating an automatic rule that redirects any broken links direct to the homepage? Hopefilly these ideas provide some further food for thought Cheers, Casey

H tags and Topics
Hi seoanalytics. It's not necessary that your H2 tags respond to people's questions. H2 is for subheadings of that H1. Use it to divide content into scannable blocks; both Google and your visitor will like it. H3 is for subheadings of that H2, preferably. Sometimes I use H3 for blocks that should be H2, but just don’t hold that much information for the visitor. H2 tags make you think about the structure and page layout of your blog. An 800-word blog may seem like a good idea. And, in fact, Google loves a page with a lot of information and depth. But you should help your audience out and give them lots of subheadings to make reading easier. Think of H2 tags as tiny table of contents pieces, showing your readers where to go and what they can expect to find in the given sections of your blog. What’s more, H2 tags must be optimized accordingly with your keyword phrases of choice, since they help SERP crawler bots interpret your pages and rank them accordingly.

Shall I hide short product review texts from customers (to avoid google panda/quality issues)?
It probably won’t affect badly if unique product information covers more content than those small reviews. I personally follow 80/20 rule here. If your product pages have unique engaging product information than you have no need to worry about. During my audits I encountered 2 type of scenarios. Product page have canned information. Content duplicated internally or manufacturer information which duplicated externally. Some (rarely) store have unique product information. In 1st case good user reviews helps a lot to create new, informative & engaging content (add uniqueness in product pages). In 2nd having unique reviews is like cherry on cake, even small reviews won’t hurt.

Is it better to optimise for several keywords/keyword variations on one page, or create sub categories for those specific terms?
Thanks for the response. I was hoping that there might be a commonly used strategy for tackling this kind of problem but I think deep down I knew I'd end up just having to try it and see what happens. I'll just have to give it a go and see if I get the response I'm looking for and go from there. Thanks again!

What makes a keyword good?
Hi There, It's great that you're niche. This means that you don' really need to worry much about difficulty. I get frustrated with people talking all the time about 'difficulty'. It's self-defeating. You should go out there and write content that's so good it beats all the competition no matter how 'competitive' or 'difficult' the keyword. If anyone in my team said they were going to be dissuaded from doing something because it was 'too difficult' I'd send them to another team So look at your competitors but don't blindly follow them. Speak to your customers, stakeholders and suppliers to discover the words they use. Are there phones that you can listen in to at your business? I listen to call recordings to get a feel for what language patients are using. And at the end of the day don't worry too much about semantics. Google is very good now at figuring out what you are talking about so I would be tempted to just do some free thinking and try to write the most comprehensively, the most brilliantly and with the most detail about these products and your customers will find you. If they are technical customer, write technically. Don't 'dumb it down'. Use the big complex words and include an FAQ section to pick up questions and long tail keywords (but beware of keyword stuffing) Once you have written some content then you'll be able to optimise and analyse and test and get a feel for what is right and what people are searching for and reading about. The competitor research is just the start and in a really niche place you often just need to get things down and out there in the world and see how they perform. Once you get cracking you'll soon become an absolute specialist and if you keep your eyes on the data you should be able to dominate your niche. Tight niches are great. You're lucky because broad or very high volume keywords can have problems all of their own.

Still No Moz PA DA in my website, why?
Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. I took a look at your site in our new beta tool, Link Explorer, and it looks like we did have DA/PA scores and inbound links for this site in our new index: https://www.screencast.com/t/udJ4etEj I'd encourage you to use Link Explorer, our new tool, as we consider the data there to be much more accurate than what you would see in Open Site Explorer.
