Botched domain migration
One more detail of note The old site still shows in google site: search, two full years after everything is 301'ed. Change of address was not used - is that critical to ensure that PR passes? If so - it doesnt allow redirecting into a subfolder - what do you recommend in this cases - temporarily change our 301 to point to newsite.com instead of newsite.com/subfolder in able to get past this blocker in the GSC change of address tool? "The old site redirects to newsite.com/xxxx, which does not correspond to the new site you chose."

NoIndex or Rel=Canonical Pagination
Hi Chuck, I would also look into categorizing your URL parameters in this case: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6080550?hl=en as this is inovlving both sorting and categorizing the data on the page it's a good solution to tell Google more about the intent that you have on this page. Page rank and menus
I think the easiest way to figure out whether or not Page Rank is properly flowing to those deeper sub category landing pages is to crawl the site with Screaming Frog. I don't remember if a Moz crawl pulls page rank for every page but if not crawl your client site with Screaming Frog and connect to Moz's API. This will pull in the Page Rank for every page and you can sort to find out if there are any issues. How does the hamburger menu look like on mobile? I'd be curious to see what the engagement looks like when the entire menu opens by default.

Cannibalization vs long tail keyword dilemma
Thanks for the suggestion. Makes total sense and is probably the best course of action. I was looking at the content I had inherited and trying to organize it better, when really what I need is new content.

Breaking up a site into multiple sites
I had 2 business websites & it became an issue because our backlinks were all from the same sources & were competing & I do not believe Google liked us being 1 business with multiple websites. We combined ours into 1 & it's going well as we managed to retain rankings. If it's a business website you have then in my opinion you should keep things the same as more & more people are creating multiple websites & Google will eventually be forced to act against it. I type this as someone who battles a Competitor with 5 websites. Personally I think your rankings will nosedive as your homepage will be thin content & Google won't like the new domains with no authority or backlinks. I'm no expert but i'very been around the block. What has prompted you to want to split the domains?

Disallow wildcard match in Robots.txt
This is a good reply. Everyone gets really confused because Robots.txt has very minor, partial wildcard support and that makes people think that Robots.txt files use Regex, which they do not. Instead of having some weird half and half implementation, it would be much better IMO if the Robots.txt initiative / directive were updated to say "yes, you can use full regular expressions with regards to URL string matching". Many people are left in a kind of silly guessing game because Google doesn't 'properly' elaborate or invest in expanding the definitions to their currently (publicly) assumed end-game. People assume that if "*" will match any string of characters, "?" will match any individual character when used in a robots.txt file. This would make sense, but it's not the case. AFAIK there are only one or two supported wildcard characters in Robots.txt and that's why people get confused, looking for escape characters and the suchlike.

Loss of search visibility-consecutive drops in one month - something I did or competitors?
Hi Jordan, Thanks for your response. Moz has flagged 5 pages with duplicate content, 2 new which I have redirected. When I look at the others, they aren't actually duplicated eg "Careers" has 141 "associated" pages but none of them are actually similar eg "subscribe to our newsletter". Re speed, I ran a report which says it is slightly under par - all content loads in 6 secs, all scripts load in 16. Any further thoughts appreciated.

Help Need with "Duplicate Content Group" on exported Site Crawl CSV
Hey Rose, thanks for reaching out! The duplicate content groups specify which URLs are considered duplicate content of each other. How we determine duplicate content is by parsing the HTML source code of the page and comparing the similarities between all your pages. If you have two or more pages on your site that have over 90% matching code, we will flag them as duplicate content. The groups help identify all the pages that are dupes of each other. I hope that helps to answer your question, you can always follow up with help@moz.com if you are needing further assistance. thanks

Targeted Keyword in the document
In regards to keyword targeting the first goal is to write in a way that is natural for the end user. You shouldn't focus too much on trying to include your core keyword a specific number of times there isn't a hard and fast rule for that. What I would look at instead is keyword density. This will take into account your longer form articles. But you shouldn't focus too much on hitting certain keyword targets but focus more on producing great content that solves a particular pain point. Hope that helps some.
