Hi Tim, Thanks for getting back to me. It was a fundamental rebuild from the ground up, so pretty much a brand new site on the domain. I can't see that the algorithm on the 27th October will have impacted performance to be honest, it actually looks like the site has been struggling organically for some time (from even before the time we acquired the site) but when the site redesign went live it dropped dramatically! Looking forward to hearing your advice - it's appreciated!!! Thanks.

Thanks Tim for your answer. Totally agree with your opinion from customer experience perspective. But most of all I was wondering how Google sees it. Is it bad if a webshop is closed for one day. Does it affect the ranking in search results for the rest of the days?

Hi Nigel, Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to use "Remove URLs" tool from GSC. They have been created due to a bug in the Yoast SEO plugin. Very unfortunate and we paid for no mistake from our end. Removing from SERP means removing from Google index also? Or Google will still consider them and just stops showing us? My intention is: Anyway we blocked them, but whether they will cause some distraction to our ranking efforts being there in results being cached. Thanks

This is exactly right and is a great answer. Canonical tags stop content duplication from being a problem and can alleviate content duplication related devaluations (or in extreme cases, penalties) What canonical tags don't do anywhere near so well (if at all) is transfer SEO authority from one page to another. If OP did what they were suggesting, the risks would be (1) Google interprets the canonical tags wrong (2) Google starts ranking pages on the new site instead of the old pages, but (critically) without any appended backlink equity (3) all rankings are then lost on both sites I'd be extremely, extremely hesitant to deploy in the OPs specified manner and I think that Nigel is 110% correct here

As Michael Edwards pointed out you need to spend some time look at the links & sites yourself to ascertain their suitability.

Yes, there was the same problem on my website,  almost a year back. But after some time it automatically solved. I think you should not worried about it.
