Where to learn how best to promote content?
Hi Ron, A good tactic can be to find out where people are talking about or asking questions that your created content answers. A good way to do this is to use google to find forums and online communities that are discussing the very area that your content is related to. Drawing people to your content in these forums and communities can be a good way to raise brand awareness or have people reading and sharing your content (providing it is v. good quality or answers their questions). Another great way to promote it is through social media. Doing this well though through social media usually requires a strong following and regular quality content updates. If you do this well, this platform for content promotion is most effective. All the best, Gav.

Non Manual penalties, should I trash my site?
Thanks, I made a new site... Basically I disavowed every single link that I got from webmaster tools, except for a industry blog that did a story on my software and my crunchbase listing... I see now in Analytics that all the incoming google searches have no keyword data... Google is really interested in just making people buy adwords it seems..

Client bought out shop but used existing phone number
Hi Nick, I would say you need to accomplish: a) Getting the company to get a new phone number b) Getting the developers to put a landing page for each location on the site c) Building new citation for the new location, not piggy-backing onto citations for the old company. After all, despite the fact that The Car People occupy a building that was previously occupied by another business, there is no relationship between the two (or, at least, there shouldn't have been, if not for that decision to keep the other company's phone number) d) Tell the client that some of the decisions that have been made are going to make it essential to have a lot of patience here while you try to create a data cluster out there on the web that Google can trust. Right now, it's unlikely that they have this. It's going to have be created over time with a lot of care.

How to rebound from a network wheel?
Under Manual Actions "No manual webspam actions found." So what do I do next? All of my websites do link to each other. They are on the same IP address. (I told webhost to spread across 5 IP's and they didn't) Each website is templated based. =[

Trung is exactly right. You might as well pick any domain name and ask that question again. Personally, I would try to differentiate myself from my competition with my domain name to some degree.

Please help with some content ideas
Hi Bob, That sort of idea could work really well for you too. I'd suggest reaching out to experts in your niche and asking them for their Small Business Marketing in 2014 Predictions (it's that time of year, right?). Resource-style content also seems to work well in the small business space. I've been working with my client Simply Business for a number of years now, creating guides around various topics which have been pretty successful: http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/guide-to-social-media-success/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/productivity/email-guide/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/google-adwords/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/wordpress-for-small-businesses/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/google-analytics-guide/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/twitter-for-small-businesses/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/googleplus-for-small-businesses/ You might also find some ideas here: http://moz.com/blog/companies-in-boring-niches-creating-great-content I hope this helps, Hannah

Does bing accept meta name="fragment" for AJAX crawling?
Hey Spencer, Normally you'd use the meta fragment directive you mention for pages that don't have #! in the URL (see section 3 here: https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/docs/getting-started) to indicate to crawlers that this site is AJAX. When crawlers account the #! they usually search for the 'crawl friendly' version of that URL which is specified by the 'escaped_fragment' URL parameter. The directive above indicates to crawlers that even though they don't see a hash they are on an AJAX page. The #! approach was an interim method that sites used, which is gradually being replaced by the alternative approach that HTML5 PushState allows. I think if you're still confused the easiest solution would be to get some example URLs for your site (or at least the pattern of the URLs and what markup they have etc., and whether they are indexed). Hope this helps! -Tom

Rebranding & Minimizing SEO impact
I can understand your situation Josh..!! But, as per my opinion, You should show the clear picture to your client. Be frank with your client. Tell him statistics that If we do this kind of things then it will be resulted in this. Make your client aware about how big changes you are going to do. OR You can give recent example of Moz.com. They have done something similar things. They have made 301 redirects for all seomoz.com URLs on Moz.com. You can see its current PR and DA and all kind of things. So, Collect such data and show your client the realistic view.
