I am seeing it with providers of local SEO services - either having over 10 "resource" pages with links to totally unrelated sites or linking each letter in the word "Copyright" to a resource link page. These are clearly link manipulation schemes - why is it that Google hasn't penalized more of these sites? And SEO providers are still selling and profiting from these services. Disgusting.

Raven only has the recipe   offering in there WordPress plug-in found on schema-creator.org it is very strange they did not update their site as well.

Hey Aron Just wanted to chime in on the wordpress bit. EGOL nailed the core answer though. But for the noindex, yes you can just noindex any pages you want to and this isn't going to cause any issues. Noindexed pages do not count towards Panda or low user metrics in the algo, so it's a great way to let the content exist but not have it cause trouble in the SERPs. -Dan

Federico, Great to see you my friend. I believe you are 100% correct there needs to be a lot of things inside the wrappers of the header. As far as fixing the issues with the site throughout the 3 questions you've asked I am yet to going to weigh in on the 3rd one however if you're building a website unless you're going to hire a developer. There are some excellent HTML editors if you Google them or if you like simply check out http://codepen.io/pro/ or some text editors that are designed for HTML Text Editors Text editors are often a matter of personal preference. Try installing some other text-editors and see which one you like best. Here's a list to get you started. TextMate - Mac only with free trial available. This text-editor is similar to Sublime Text. Notepad++ Windows only and free to use. It's similar to Notepad (which is included with Windows) but has some more advanced features. Codekit - Mac only with free trial available. Hmm. Try making a video sitemap with a few videos that currently aren't appearing in serps, submit to GWT and see if they appear in a week.

Hi Frederico, On the google Sitemaps Errors help page, they include the following information: "You should also check that the URLs all begin with the same domain as your Sitemap location. For instance, if your Sitemap is listed under http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml, the following URLs are not valid for that Sitemap: http://www.google.com — it's in the google.com domain rather than the example.com domain http://example.com/ — it's missing the initial www www.example.com/ — it's missing the protocol (http), and will generate an Invalid URL warning https://www.example.com/ — it's using a different protocol (https rather than http) Any URLs in the Sitemap that are not denied are processed normally." This leads me to understand that Google don't want you to put http urls in an https sitemap and also vice-versa. What makes you believe otherwise?? Nope, it isn't too good to be true. Page caching is one of the smartest ways to increase speed. How it works depends on the plugin, but usually it avoids making queries to DB, and processing by saving a copy of a page for a certain amount of time, so when the next person asks for it, the site will serve the saved version instead of generating it all over again. EDIT: even on highly dynamic sites pages do not constantly change, for example, go to CNN now and go again in 1 hour, you will probably see the exact same thing but the latest news changed (most likely), but the rest of the page could be easily cached for 1 hour and avoid the re-generation so all those users accessing within that hour could be served with the cached copy instead of generating it thousands of more times (one for each visitor).

Good point by Kevin, too, that it does depend on the rest of your link profile and how solid it is. If you have thousands of linking root domains, just one domain isn't going to make or break you. Your overall profile is the key.

Hi Casey I have a "self-referring" (pointing to itself) canonical on all of my pages, if another isn't needed.  There's certainly no harm in doing so and I believe that there is a benefit to. If your content is put up, is indexed first by Google and has the canonical tag on it - that is a really clear directive to Google/Bing that you are the originator for your content.  That means if someone comes along and steals/scrapes the content from your site, they are far less likely (in my opinion) to be successful in passing it off as their own (and therefore leaving you with a duplicate content issue). In addition, having self-referring canonicals on pages future proofs you against any plugins/searches/features of your site that might generate multiple URLs from an original (think www.domain.com?searchquery.html if you have a search function on your site). Having a canonical will mean that Google will not index multiple versions of your URL, which might also result in duplicate content.  This also prevents attacks from people who try to brute force multiple versions of your URL to get indexed (ie sending spam links to www.domain.com?randomquery - it's very rare but I've seen it happen) In short, I think self-referring canonicals are great idea - use them wherever you can.

Hi there There is actually "Bounced Visits" segment you can select by default. Go to Acquisition -> All Traffic and make sure the primary dimension selected is: Medium - so your data is grouped by paid, organic, direct etc. Click the drop down arrow next to the default All Visits section at the top of the page and then click on the "Bounced Visits" tab to highlight it.  You can deselect All Visits at this point or use it to compare. You should be left with a report of the amount of bounced visits per medium type, which is hopefully what you're after. Hope this helps.

hi there! I want to add a bit more  of difficulty on this topic. What would you guys do if your products are renewed every year, so product A in 2014 is product B (almost the same as the previous) in 2015, and then B will eventually become C in 2016. How would you guys avoid the 301 chain? any suggestion? Thanks! rafa
