Hey Mark, In answer to your question, yes Google does see more value in body links than in navigation links. That is because they are pretty good at detecting what is the reoccurring code across the site. As Dave said the navigation itself is a question of usability, so build it in a such a way that users can easily get to the right pages quickly. With the body links, however, it is about branding the other pages throughout the site for relevance. As you might imagine, it's a little harder to create relevance from just a list of links. Whereas if you have a paragraph of text surrounding a link you can programmatically identify context. All that is to say, what you've read is right. There is more value in the body links for search engines due to context and there is more value for the user in the navigation due to user experience. Account for both, but don't go overboard with either. -Mike

You still have only a small sampling with those major brands. You're probably seeing more because there are more links to sample from for the big brands.

Have you gone through your site to make sure that there are no longer any links to the old 404 pages? You probably don't need to worry about external links pointing in, since those pages are now redirecting, but I think it would be best practice to correct all of your internal links.

Hey Moses! I'm afraid the rankings history report cannot be included in automated reports so you would have to request the report to be sent to your email address and then forward it to another. Only daily/weekly/monthly updated data can be scheduled in custom reports where you can assign other recipients just as Andrew described. Cheers!

Hey Khi5 — I just took a closer look at your webpage, as well as the related questions that you've asked before. I think an even bigger problem than "duplicate content" is "thin content". The main body of your page is 56 words, when the general rule of thumb is to put 300+ words of content. To answer you more specifically: No, I don't believe that search engines have the ability to identify very similar content, because they go by keyword. Even if the search engines DON'T categorize the content as duplicate, they're all competing with each other for the same keywords. The articles are all competing with each other in the same space. If you're trying to focus on "Honolulu" vs "Waikiki" vs <some other="" neighborhood="">, then your pages also need many more repeats of the keywords you're trying to win. </some> If the bulk of your page is unique (b/c you're writing about Honolulu as a category vs Waikiki as a specific neighborhood), then you don't have to worry about duplicate content; most of your content is unique tl;dr: > 300 words, repeat desired exact match keywords several times on a page; yes, create create unique content to make the pages more unique and specific Hope that helps more.

If it is just one thread on a forum that was flooded with bad links, you could delete that thread. Make sure that any traffic to the associated URL's get a true 404 response. My understanding is that doing so shows that you did not want those incoming links and that you are not gaining any advantage from them. If you do another Reconsideration Request, you should probably tell them that the targeted page was deleted.

The only thing I would say is that the Google alerts would have to be set up using a fake email account! Interesting scenario. Luckily I have a Sculpture who hides me from the internet!

If the images are being indexed just fine, even though they are "four folders deep", why would you change that? It would be like trying to fix something that is working perfectly, you may end up with something you didn't expect... (reindexing all images could remove them from the index for a while... it won't do any harm, but as you said, they are just fine where they are now). Hope that helps!

It's not an exact science in regard to any one signal, however yes, the more you can reinforce the ability to strengthen topical focus, the less likely Panda would find category pages to be weak.

There's no single answer here, however the general consensus is that it really depends on several factors: Most pages can only truly be optimized for a couple high value phrases. So if you have too many phrases you want that single page to rank for, that's a tall order. If you go too divergent in a single page's topical focus, that makes more of a mess due to topical dilution - weakening the primary phrase focus for that page. If you force users to scroll forever (not just due to HTML5 / fluid design) that can be frustrating for readers on several levels.  That's made worse by the fact that most sites that use a one-page design tend to be one-hit-wonder magic-product sales pitch type sites, and thus reputation is an issue due to association with those for some visitors. That's just a few of the reasons one-page design is not highly recommended, both from an SEO and a User Experience perspective. As far as Google being able to figure out hashtag referenced content - just like every other thing their algorithms attempt to figure out, my recommendations to clients always state "don't rely on that - algorithms are inherently flawed to one degree or another - so figuring out JavaScript, AJAX, Flash - it's a crap-shoot.  Google needs multiple signals to help it figure out topical focus.  With only one URL, you lose the page TItle, URL, H1 and other related signals that only work best when there's one of each of those for separate main topics.  Sure, with HTML5 you are "allowed" to have multiple H1 tags on a page. Yet I've seen that confuse Google's algorithms.  It's just not wise to tempt the "formulaic attempt" process.

Forward atlantaeventweddings.com to the subdomain   Use htaccess rewrite to direct incoming traffic to atlantaeventcorporate.com/weddings/   or   Redirect weddings.atlantaeventcorporate.com to atlantaeventcorporate.com/weddings/ Don't create a subdomain: Just create the weddings folder in the root of your domain and build from there. and then forward atlantaeventweddings.com to atlantaeventcorporate.com/weddings/
