  • Thanks for confirming that. As its a old partial penalty, and from a quick look at their analytics I can't see any main pages that have been penalised , is it best to leave it alone ( in the short term at least)?

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out! My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help Team. This is a tricky thing to troubleshoot since we don't have a historical database for our Index, and to my knowledge we haven't changed anything about the way we gather/report this information. Sorry I can't do more for you on the support side with this one! While I can tell you how we gather the data, ideas as to why a drop like this would occur is outside of my scope of expertise. Presashop might have a good starting point for your investigation though! I'll leave this questions as "unanswered" on my side so more folks from the community can chime in if they have any other insights. Good Luck, and Happy Tuesday! Erin

  • Thanks so much for the responses. Agree that usability is most important. It's something we have always stuck to. Just want to make the most of internal links. But this is very helpful. Appreciated.

  • Hi Alex! Thanks for reaching out! My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help team! Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Custom Reports! I want to respect your privacy, so can you email help@moz.com and let us know which campaign/report is giving your grief? We'll look into things further from there! You're totally right about the missing campaign stats! We're planning to give that section of the app a facelift, which is why it looks a little empty for the time being. I hope that helps, and I look forward to seeing your email! Cheers, Erin

  • From a UX perspective: This allows the visitor to refer to the linked page/info but be able to continue on with the article/page from your site. From an SEO perspective, IMO This helps your bounce rate from jumping when people engage the links you have on your site. Check out this previous Q&A posted by our buddy Max Minzer! Hope this helps with your question!! http://moz.com/community/q/when-is-it-good-to-use-target-_blank

  • This is still a major drawback. The reports look terrible and are not searchable. Please fix this design flaw. The older method worked.

  • I would be careful with it, I would pick good quality links over anything else personally.

  • You should have migrated the sold domains "authority" to the new site using Google Webmaster Tools. Doing this would have transferred all of your SEO to the new site. However, since this was not done (or 301 redirect each link to the new site), i'm sorry to say that you'll need to start over

  • Hello, my old htaccess buddy! Let's say, perhaps, that a person wanted to change her main company blog from www.legacytravel.com/ramblings to www.legacytravel.com/blog. Of course, all of the traffic would need to be re-directed.  the htaccess currently says: BEGIN WordPress <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /ramblings/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /ramblings/index.php [L]</ifmodule> END WordPress Would it be appropriate / effective to add something there that directs everything in light of the renaming of that subfolder? Again, thank you in advance.

  • Hey There, Unfortunately, it looks like we aren't able to create a campaign for http://www.magallanes.cl because the server for that site is returning a 403 Forbidden error to our crawler: http://www.screencast.com/t/bVgWuFNvm. I would recommend working with your webmaster to white-list our crawler, rogerbot, so that we are able to access your site. Once that is done, you should be able to create a campaign for your site with no issue. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else. Chiaryn Help Team Ninja

  • Ah, ok. My mistake, I didn't drill down enough. One thing I did notice: you have authorship markup on those product pages as well. That should be removed. According to Google's guidelines, for product pages that are not specifically written/constructed by an "author," that markup should not be there. Rel="publisher" is the only necessary markup for non-blog or article content. The schema markup you've implemented looks good in the page source, and checks out as being correctly implemented (without any duplicates) using Google's Structured Data Testing Tool (found in Google Webmaster Tools). It appears the data highlighter markup is not causing duplicates. I'd recommend double-checking all the product pages you've added schema to that you originally had from the data highlighter markup. There may be duplicates, there may not. To be honest, I've always gone right to schema.org, but checking for duplicates should be the only thing you should have to worry about. Good luck!

  • Great, hoping to see some movement with the links I've added. This stuff is a lot of work and the results take a while to show up but will keep at it. Thanks for the info Keri.
