  • Hey There! I want to be sure that you understand how to interpret your Moz Local listing score, and have a good sense of what Moz Local is doing for and what you can take manual action on. When you sign into your Moz Local dashboard and click on a business listing there, you are taken to a business details page where you will see your overall listing score. This score is comprised of your status on the 7 partner sites in our network + the status of your listings on 8 non-partner sites, as well. The 7 supported partner sites in our network are: Factual Foursquare Neustar/Localeze Infogroup Best of the Web Acxiom Superpages Once you’ve uploaded your listing to Moz Local, it’s our job to push your data out to the above 7 partner sites. Your overall listing score will begin to rise as each of the above listings achieves updated status. The rise may be gradual rather than instantaneous, but should be noticeable over time. You should be sure you’ve filled out as many details as possible on your listing so that it can achieve a maximum score. If you’ve filled out all of these fields, you’re good to go on this and it’s our job to take it from there, pushing out your data to the 7 partners. As each partner achieves updated status, your listing score will gradually begin to rise. Apart from this, you can contribute to a rise in your listing score manually by improving your listings on the non-partner sites shown on the details page. These non-partner sites are: Google Facebook Yelp Hotfrog YP Citysearch Yahoo! Bing On the details page, if you discover that we are reporting issues to you under the ‘Inconsistent’ and ‘Incomplete’ tabs on any of the above non-partner sites, you should consider taking manual action to correct these things. This activity on your part will also eventually contribute to a rise in your listing score. However, if you don't have login information for these sites, your ability to work on these non-partner sites is definitely going to be limited. You may need to work at contacting each of the platforms individually to see if they can help you regain control of the listings. Finally, if our tool also surfaces duplicate listings for you, you’ll want to pay close attention to these. If the duplicates are on any of the 7 partner sites, you can simply click the ‘close’ button. If they are on the non-partner sites, clicking the close button will take you to a page on the associated site where you will need to work manually with the platform to request closure of the duplicate. Again, you may need to do some spadework to see if these non-partner platforms can help you get back in control of the listings. Taken altogether, the work we are doing to push your data to the 7 partner sites and the work you do on the non-partner sites will contribute to a rise in your listing score. I can't vouch for any specific plug-in, but these two might be worth looking into:WooCommerce Drop Ship Manager Pro: Costs $200 and specifically mentions inventory updates via spreadsheet. Spark Shipping offers "Dropship eCommerce Automation" services and they work with WooCommerce stores, among others: "Spark Shipping will process feeds from your suppliers and automatically update your inventory. Automated Inventory Management keeps your inventory in sync with all of your vendors." One thing you need to be sure of is that you aren't publishing the manufacturer/vendor supplied product descriptions on your site. You should be overwriting the ones that come in via the feed and using your own custom product descriptions instead.

  • Hi CosminC, As Linda said, new sitemap + Fetch as Google in WMT. Once you "fetch" it, refresh the page and there should be a new button available Submit to Index. Click this button and choose - Crawl this URL and its direct links.This will effectively ask google crawler to visit and re-crawl your whole site and although Google doesn't guarantee anything, the crawler would normally re-crawl the site in the next few days.

  • Just an update for everyone. We use sitemaps, rather than meta tags, to do the circular href lang mapping for our localized domains. In doing so, we've found the HREFLANG XML Sitemap Tool from The Media Flow particularly AMAZING! Talk about saving time! Just make a csv file with a comma for each language/locale, upload it, and then download a zip file with all your sitemaps. Beautiful. watch?v=f85sAafNIUw

  • I was going to say the same as Trung. A couple things that might help you differentiate the pages to think about include: The reasons people get married in Palm city The reasons they get married in Stuart The reasons they get married in Port St. Lucia It might come down to criteria such as following: transportation budget, the venue, the atmosphere. Those are just a few of the things you can do to differentiate the pages. Really dig in and discuss the benefits and display that you understand what it is like to at least witness a wedding in all of the areas. Show them that you know what you are talking about. I am positive as a Florida resident that there is a lot you can say about these areas regarding travel for the guests as well as the reception and ceremony. Do not create a bunch of URLs just because they have your keywords in them. Especially when they are identical to the others. Try creating a URL called "wedding locations" something like that then you can have them choose the city in which they want to plan the wedding. Create pages around the venues "best place's to get married in Stuart". You see where I am going with this?   • Trung beat me to it but +1 to keywordtool.io, an often overlooked thing is to ask your users how they would find a solution to their issue - with a tool like seed keywords - http://seedkeywords.com/. We have recently had success with looking at the old pre-not provided data for long tail queries, the data is fresh enough that it might open your eyes a bit to new opps and a lot of people aren't doing that.  One of our peeps Amanda might be publishing something soon about this, it helped us build / refresh content better than if we had used other tools.

  • Thanks for the input guys ... This does help a lot ... it's weird that word stuffing doesn't seem to matter ... to me 14 mentions IN CAPS!!! on the same page is pushing a line that Google wouldn't like.  But yes, it is maybe not the best marketing practice and they are quite, quite wedded to the idea.  It will be all caps or nothing.  Thanks so much for helping me out and I guess I need to research the hummingbird updates more because it just seems wrong to me that this is mostly ok.   • One trick you can do is dilute the text pretty easily and make some small changes to make them compete with each other instead of one canceling two out like a duplicate content will get you. You could try something like this and it should be pretty easy to implement if you are using a template based cart system. Shop 1 - Just have the normal product description on the page and all of the standard text you have from your menu, ect basically changing nothing. Shop 2 - If your site is utilizing rich snippets, change them on a template level. Most work like this $template_variable So on the second site delete a little bit of the rich snippet data, say the condition and the manufacturer name. At the same time on every product page add a 200-400 word shipping and return policy. As the current standards are, that should dilute everything enough to look like a totally different page. Shop 3 - Basically the same as shop 2, change the rich snippet data that is sent a little. Maybe it could be adding manufacturer data that is not in the other templates, or taking something else that is non essential out of the template. Then add in on the product pages a different but meaning the same 100-200 word shipping policy. At the same time either add in an "about" section for the manufacturer, or if you have too many manufacturers for this to be reasonable add in an about for your company on every product page. By doing this you will make the pages compete with each other instead of making one page dominate. If you are using a template based CMS, the changes should be easy and should only take about an hr or two to do, minus the time to write the content.

  • Thanks Justin and Bruce, I think I will try and push for the "limited view until signed in" solution.  The HTTP/ HTTPS one just feels a bit too much like a dirty hack that will end up hurting in some way, at some point! Thanks for your responses.

  • Hey guys! I agree with James and Bruce. We have a client that ran into a similar issue about a year ago where he was issued a manual penalty on his site, from work performed prior to us of course ; ). While we were working to correct the issue, we developed a new site (on a new URL) that began ranking fairly well with little effort. Once the penalty was removed from the older site, we simply kept the two sites separate and focused our efforts primarily on the older site. This proved to be an effective strategy in our situation since the new site didn't have much authority or credibility. It was ranking well so the client decided to leave it on its own and not redirect or connect it to the older site in any way. So in my experience, I would have to agree that using the older domain would be best. Of course assuming that the site (content, URL structure, UX, link profile and social signals) is at a higher level than the newer site. Regarding the redirect from the new site to the old, this is totally a judgement call you will have to make based on the amount and quality of off-site (links & social mentions) between the two sites. IMO the on-page and UX stuff can and should always be tweaked and improved upon. So I don't think that should really be a deciding factor. Hope this helps in one way or another!

  • If you can, then modify those links and direct them to the main domain. If not, don't put much effort...rather, I would advice you to invest that time in creating new more relevant links which can help you more Also,  there is no difference between a 301 and a link in terms of PageRank dilution. According to Matt, if you have many redirects, like chains of them from one url to another to another, that is a known bad thing. But one or so won't hurt you.
