What makes high quality content?
-
Content is becoming more and more important in rankings and I was wondering what exactly Google defines a good content.
Any ideas?

Is it interesting that people want to view it. If so people will link to it. another measure that search engines look at is clicks from search, if a user clicks on your searp, then retunes to the search and chooses another result, then the search engines assumes your result was not a good result for that search term.
technically, the content should crawl well, and have semantic meaning, you need to use schema.org to describe the content to the search engine to make sure that the SE understands what you are trying to say.

Google talks about this in their blog post at http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/05/more-guidance-on-building-high-quality.html, which is a good place to start.

Keep in mind EJD, that content is but the means to an end--it is the visitor interaction/engagement that you (and Google) after and content is the catalyst that makes it possible. What makes good content? As Alan says, it's content that is being linked to and clicked on, as well as shared and commented on on websites and social platforms. How do you create "good content"? You study the needs of your audience, then create content that addresses those needs and finally, strategic networking with audience and influencers to make them aware of that they will then engage with.
