RE: Strange site link on Google for a Facebook result
No, it's not. The content is mostly in Spanish and only one version. So no global page. We also have checked the Page's FB insights, and we don't show any weird traffic from India either.

Strange site link on Google for a Facebook result
A Facebook page targetted to US Hispanics (with content in Spanish and English) is showing me a hindi sitelink underneath the main Facebook link when I google (in the US, English) for the page [ page name facebook]. We don't have any content in hindi, or targetted to that audience.
If I click on the sitelink while logged out of facebook, I can see it takes me to a facebook subdomain of hi-in. When I'm logged in it just redirects me to the same page. Any idea why this could be happening?

RE: Content Curation & Duplicate Content
Thanks for the responses. We've been adding an excerpt for each article.
Its limited the amount we are doing at the moment but I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks to both.

Content Curation & Duplicate Content
Hi, I have a client that wants to do content curation but it has been my understanding that adding external content that is already live on another website to your website, you get penalized for duplicate content.
I have read that you can create an excerpt and then Google won't penalizes you for duplicate content.
Can anyone shed more light on this topic.
Thanks

RE: Does anyone have PPC management software recommendations?
I agree with you on reach local.....
you'll have better results your self.
I originally suggested kenshoo, acquisio and marin but they are very pricey, definetly worth the investment if you were managing over $75K a month.
if you want to save try clickable or wordstream.

RE: SEO MOZ report showing duplicate content pages with without ending /
Hi dpaq2011,
you don't have the rel=canonical tags but you don't have an issue. It might be that the server you are using automatically has a redirect on the .htaccess

RE: SEO MOZ report showing duplicate content pages with without ending /
It looks like you have canonical issues on the site.
Send me a message with the site f you don't want to post it here.
Did you install any seo wordpress plugin like all in one seo or yoast seo?

RE: Duplicate content question? thanks
Thanks for your quick response, what about having the same content in this case recipes in two different sites, both owned by the same organization.

Duplicate content question? thanks
Hi, Im my time as an SEO I have never come across the following two scenarios, I am an advocate of using unique content, therefore always suggest and in cases demand that all content is written or re-written.
This is the scenarios I am facing right now.
For Example we have www.abc.com (has over 200 original recipes) and then we have www.xyz.com with the recipes but they are translated into another language as they are targeting different audiences, will Google penalize for duplicate content?
The other issue is that the client got the recipes from www.abc.com (that have been translated) and use them in www.xyz.com aswell, both sites owned by the same company so its not pleagurism they have legal rights but I am not sure how Google will see it and if it will penalize the sites.
Thanks!

RE: Does anyone have PPC management software recommendations?
I have used, clickable, wordstream, kenshoo, acquisio and marin.
I have used others not even worth mentioning. On your budget it looks like you qualify for Acquisio, wordstream and clickable..
The superior of these software are kenshoo and marin but you need a budget of over 100K a month. Marin just launched their pro version which is 5% of ad spend for advertisers spending less then 100K.
For kenshoo which is rated #1http://www.topseos.com/rankings-of-best-ppc-bid-management-software if you are under 100K they will refer you to one of their partners.
set your goals clearly, if you want to track attribution and path to conversion only marin, kenshoo have a solid understanding of this, acquisio has had it for the last few months. With kenshoo you can manage your ads thru watchdog which is directly connected to the websites inventory.
If you just want to manage everything centrally than wordstream or clickable will do.
If i was you i would definitely do a demo with at least 5 of the companies on the topseos list.
Hope this helps.

RE: In Adobe DreamWeaver, Does One Use a Template or a Server-Side Includes?
When deciding one or the other depends on your level of expertise. Dreamweaver templates are really easy to use and implement.
DW Templates
Pros: ease of use, not to much coding involved
Cons: if you update any element (logo or a footer link) you will have to update ALL pages that use that template and then re-upload all updated pages. As far as SEO, title tags and Meta descriptions its more complicated to have unique title tags per page (unless DW made this easier than the last time I used DW templates) since it tends to use the same for all pages which then who will have duplicate data problems.SSI
Pros: You update just the footer it will automatically update all the footer, you only upload 1 file and thats it. Same thing if its a left nav, top nav or what ever banner or include you use.
seo-wise, each page is an individual page and you can have unique titles and meta descriptions on each page.
Cons: you can do this with php, asp, coldfusion or what ever programming language, its only a con if you have no programming knowledge. There are other things to consider but these are the only things I can see, my $0.02 cents!
hope this helps.
