Thanks for the responses. We've been adding an excerpt for each article. Its limited the amount we are doing at the moment but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks to both.

If the recipes that appear on both sites are in different languages then you are fine. If they are the same language, then I would consider re-writing the recipes one of of the sites so that they are not duplicated exactly (might be challenging for parts of a recipe).
