Google Places Plus: New Name, Same Headaches

I am struggling to make changes to Google Plus Local and Google Places listings for my organization. We have two listings showing up and they are both wrong. We own one of them - the Places listing - but any time we edit it it doesn't change. This is going on a year now...why don't our changes show up?

The other listing - a Google Plus Listing - was created out of thin air and has the wrong phone number and address - causing problems for our staff. I have attempted to request changes multiple times and again - nothing. What is going on? Anyone know what it takes to make changes to these things?

The organization is Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the listings show up when you Google "Dana Farber"

I've been having the same problems. Have some clients who had 3 Google local pages, each with different information and it seemed like G just randomly picked and chose what to display. I disabled ones I didn't want and perfected one but the local listing is still different from what I input (even though when I go to edit it, everything looks peachy).

I really hope this fix these issues soon.

Thanks...it's baffling how Google, a company with so many bright people and a track record of producing great tools, would allow one of their most visible products to be so consistently dysfunctional over such a long period of time and cause it's users so many headaches.

Hi Barret,

This may be review for you, but I want to be sure that you know that Google has created a + page for every local business who used to have a Place Page. If this is a new topic for you, I suggest you read this article:

It can take 2+ weeks to get a response, so be prepared for that.

Your incorrect data may well be stemming from an old duplicate listings in Places of which you weren't aware, or it could be coming from 3rd party data. Definitely, report your issue through the troubleshooter I've linked to, and if you haven't heard back in, say, 3 weeks, take your issue to the Google And Your Business Forum and give a detailed account of your experience, included that you've reported via the troubleshooter, in hopes of getting a direct response from a Google rep or Top Contributor.
