What do these link terms mean?
That will be 'Total linking domains' . It's the number of different sites that are linking to yours. The second one that otherwise would be used is the sum of the two external links (follow/nofollow). That's the number that you'd get if you take the number of links from every individual name.

My company has about 70 live pages. Moz crawled 6k. Why?
No that's not normal and it means you are internally linking to campaign tag URLs which is probably also causing loads of data pollution in GA For something like this, I'd expect it's an infinitely-recursive URL nesting error or something like that. A client of mine had a similar example lately, they had URLs like site.com/fr/product and you could click the flag in the nav to change language, for example ending up at site.com/en/product (English instead of French) The problem was, if you were on EN and you clicked the EN flag again, it would go to site.com/en/en/product (infinitely adding to the language layer). Errors like this on cookie-cutter, cloud-managed sites are very, very common (their tech teams often aren't fantastic to be honest)

Moz crawling doesn't show all of my pages
Hi there, Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So, I took a look at your site, and unfortunately I believe this is a result of our crawler's inability to work with Javascript. Any client side loaded content will not be rendered to our crawler as we are only seeing what is rendered by your server. Our crawler works by parsing the source code of your site, looking at HTML elements. If your site is primarily Javascript, then the data you get back with regards to the crawl report won't be completely accurate because of this. There's no real workaround that I can recommend for this one, since it is a technical limitation of our tools, but there are some good blog posts and discussions in the Q&A about this if you head over to our Help Hub. While the tools and data that rely on our crawl of your site may not return the best results because of that Javascript, your keyword rankings and link profile should work just fine. You might also want to check out a few tools that are compatible with Javascript, like Botify or Screaming Frog. I'm really sorry I can't be of more help here; Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with, or if there are any follow-up questions you might have!

WP Events Calendar Creates URLs Too Long in Site Crawler
Pretty sure it would be: User-agent: Rogerbot Disallow: /*?ajaxCalendar Disallow: /*&ajaxCalendar That would pretty much handle OPs concern there

Follow tag is showing no follow in site explorer
Hi Tvisha. Interesting question and very weird all round, hopefully Eli and the team can get to the bottom of it. Few observations from me (Troop Messenger): I agree, my Link Explorer also has it marked as no-follow. Curiously using the Moz Toolbar, the highlight follow link doesn't work for me. Neither does highlight no-follow links. Only one which works is the external link Inspecting the line of code rel="follow" isn't actually a valid property as far as I'm aware: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/96569?hl=en Perhaps this could be confusing Roger? Quite far-fetched but the only wild theory I have. Or perhaps it was no-followed when Moz originally crawled it and the links have since changed. Hope you get to the bottom of if, it's a weird anomaly! Nick

Spam links and Domain Authority
Hi there, Sam from Moz's Help Team here - thanks so much for reaching out! So, a couple of things - when you disavow a link through Google, it doesn't actually remove the link, Google just stops putting SEO weight into it. So our crawler will still find the link. Unfortunately there isn't a way in Link Explorer to "disavow" a link yet so we will still show it. Disavowing a link doesn't take it away from our tools, so they will still appear as backlinks to your site. The fact that Google disregards them in relation to your site does not take them off the sites they are on, so best practice is to approach the webmaster first and request the link be removed. If you get no response then disavow with Google:). I also want to note a couple of things about your DA drop in general - overall, seeing your DA drop is a fairly common problem and can be attributed to a few things: 1.Links we previously discovered are now marked as lost. 2. You've earned more links, but the highest authority sites have grown their link profile even more. 3. The links you've earned are from sites that we haven't seen correlate well with higher Google rankings. 4. We've done a better or worse job crawling sites/pages that have links to you (or don't). It's a bit difficult to isolate the exact cause of what happened without your own SEO consultant or developer being able to take a dive into this, but you can definitely read more specific information here if you'd like to understand more about the process:). Something else to note is that on March 5th, we rolled out an entirely new DA calculation method, which affected the DA of many sites. You can read more about this update here https://moz.com/domain-authority-2.0. Do let us know if we can help with anything else!

Domain Authority Issue
Hey! Sorry for the confusion here. We have updated the algorithm that calculates Domain Authority in order to predict a site’s ranking ability with even better accuracy. You can read more about this here https://moz.com/domain-authority-2.0 The changes you are seeing are a result of an update to the actual calculation of the DA score in order to more accurate depiction of your site’s influence over time. Please note, when tracking your DA and the Link Building work you’re performing, DA should always be looked at in comparison to your target competitors, never as a standalone metric. We’ll continue to improve our Domain Authority and Page Authority algorithms and strengthen our link index as the search landscape changes. In terms of future updates, we anticipate this new DA model being quite stable over time. We will keep track of possible changes that we might need to make and we’ll be sure to keep you updated. I hope this helps but please feel free to reach out to us at help@moz.com if you have any other questions! Eli

How to solve the 4xx and 5xx permanently?
Hey, Thanks for reaching out - just to let you know that I have replied to your question which was sent into help@moz.com Best, Eli

Moz crawling http rather than https site
Hey, thanks for reaching out! Yes Moz will always start at the HTTP level, however that doesn't stop us from crawling HTTPS, if you have proper redirection in place. Unfortunately there isn't a way to "force" the crawler, we will crawl the entire domain (or scope that is designated). Let us know if you have further questions!

Most of the backlinks not listed
Having the same issue. I have numerous dofollow backlinks from high DA sites and also from some of the best ranking legit directories in the industry yet they are nowhere to be found. I understand that "not all" will be found but "none at all" is very disappointing.

Apart from spying on competitors back link what else can be done in MOZ?
In a certain way, I understand the concern of Manifeat9 regarding his question, and Ely Myers answers with the usual, the general specifications of Moz. true is that you can get high value results, but it is like other tools such as "Semrush", I think the question is more focused on the additional added value, such as list of urls for link earning. In case I am paying 179 for the subscription I would like to have the added value, with effective and specific examples for my business. I do not know if the question is still specific enough. and if I'm wrong, please accept my apology.

Is there any study or detailed report on How Moz & Google calculates domain authority ?
Hi there! Domain Authority is a proprietary metric that specifically comes from Moz, so Google does not use it. We do not disclose the exact formula for Domain Authority but you can read about the factors used to calculate in our article here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority I hope that helps!
