  • Hi there, Thank you for your answer, but its too slow and we are purchasing the MOZ product to keep tracking on our SEO performance. Hence, if it does take two months for you to update our data, how can we revise or adjust our SEO strategy to compete in the market? Some other tools is already index us. If it takes that slow to index our page when we buy your product, we will have to consider using MOZ. I have to say that. Kind regards, zita

  • Hi again! I'm so sorry you're running into more Open Site Explorer issues! The tool is having a bit of difficulty today and its performance is degraded. The team is currently investigating the issue and hopes to have it resolved as soon as possible! In the meantime, you can check for updates on our Health Page, here: http://health.moz.com/ I'm really sorry for the inconvenience! Hopefully we'll have OSE back up and running soon.

  • Hello! The button has been fixed and should be working. @rvseo, the current version of Mozbar is stable and functional outside of the keyword difficulty button which is now resolved. The only ongoing issues with Mozbar is the version for Firefox which is not currently supported until Mozilla can approve the version we use for Chrome.

  • Hi there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. First off, I highly recommend checking out this great post from Rand about how to interpret fluctuations in Domain and Page Authority - it also does a really good job of explaining the size and shape of our index, and some of our limitations: https://moz.com/community/q/da-pa-fluctuations-how-to-interpret-apply-understand-these-ml-based-scores The short version is that we're always working to make our Mozscape Index as Google-like as possible, including growing the index's size, but we're limited by how much time it takes to process all the metrics we return for the links in our index. We're working on improving our crawlers, and thus our index, all the time! I don't have a good ETA for a bigger, badder, more expansive index, but rest assured that it's on our roadmap and something we're actively working on.

  • Hey! Thank you for your response, the only thing I am wondering about is why it hasn't picked up any page apart from the homepage. I would expect it to have found something other than the homepage by now? Thanks

  • Hi there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. I think I can help explain what's going on here. Open Site Explorer is powered by our Mozscape Index, which updates roughly every 4 weeks. Our most recent update was June 22nd, and the next one is scheduled for July 26th. (You can check on the next scheduled update any time from this page.) That means that the most recent data we have for your Page Social Metrics is from the 22nd of last month. If you've been doing lots of sharing and posting more recently than that, Open Site Explorer won't reflect those numbers yet. I would expect to see your Page Social Metrics increase with the next index update. I hope this helps! If you have more questions, feel free to write in to help@moz.com and we'll do our best to sort you out!

  • Hi tybi-seochat! I'm afraid there's no native way in Open Site Explorer to pull all of your links to PDFs. One option, though, would be to download the CSV with all of your links, and then filter out the ones whose targets don't end in .pdf. Keep in mind, though, that even that likely won't be every link. The Mozscape index is designed to give you a great sense of your overall link profile, but it isn't exhaustive.

  • Completely agree with everything said here except for the "OSE = quality, webmaster tools = quantity" bit... Maybe we redefine it as OSE is simply not as good/consistent or as reliable as webmaster tools? Just maybe.

  • I think the problem is that in theory any page that is indexed will rank for some keyword or other, especially long-tail keywords, so there will be too many possibilities. The only way to link them up for sure (as far as I am aware) is to track the keywords. But you may be able to make some connections by checking your top organic landing pages and top organic keywords. I.e. if you are getting a lot of visits to your landing page "/thekeyword" and a lot of visits (or impressions) from "keywordz", then it might be worth checking whether it is that page that ranks well for the keyword "keywordz". The avg. position in the Search Console might be helpful as well to give you an idea for how well a page on your website ranks for the keywords you are getting traffic from.

  • Hi there! Tawny from the Help Team here. I think I can help explain what you're seeing in Open Site Explorer. When you enter your site's URL, the first report that comes back is an Inbound Links report. By default only external inbound links are displayed, but you can use the dropdowns to filter down to just the links you're interested in. You won't see these external inbound links in your source code - they're just links to your site from elsewhere on the web. If you were to look at internal links instead, you'd be able to find them in your site's code. I hope this helps! If you have more questions, feel free to write in to help@moz.com and we'll give you a hand with anything that's not clear.

  • Yes, I was checking other sites (not ours) and it seems to be across the board DA dropped.

  • Hi Naracci - it's possible that the Mozscape index (which certainly doesn't have perfect coverage, but rather a more representative crawl coverage) hasn't seen all the links to your site. As you get them from more notable domains and pages, though, we should pick them up and you'll see that reflected in your DA/PA scores.

  • I have screaming frog too. But it crawls only website pages. All of those are fine. Pretty much all errors I get are for images on my website. So basically for separate files. Also wanted to ask. Could this type of 8xx error problem be caused by one of the plugins in WP? Around that time I installed Optimise plugin (which was suggested by WP Engine to speed up my site) Thanks Casey.
