Spam score
Hi I have mailed you. I am talking about both. Both have suddenly flagged up. Both appear incorrect. I'll not say more on here for now as it's not fair for you to give me support in two places about the same problem Thanks Grahame

Different numbers in Moz bar vs. OSE
Hi there! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! This could simply be a case where that example you've linked has the results filtered to 'this page' as opposed to 'this root domain' or 'this subdomain'. If instead you filter by root domain, you should see a far higher number of links populate in OSE. If you're still seeing strange results, it would be great if you could pop an email over to help@moz.com so we can take a deeper dive into this:).

Why such bad scores?
Hi there - Sam from Moz's help team here! If I plug in that exact URL, I am now seeing the same results that Linda mentioned for the DA (5) and PA (21) (with and without the https). I'm also seeing 6 inbound links! Something to keep in mind is that is actually expected that we won’t find every page and link because we aren’t looking for them all! When we collect this data, we’re looking specifically for the most valuable links and, rather than crawling your entire site or every site, we collect this by starting our crawler on a few highest ranking sites and letting it perform a breadth first search to see what it finds. For each page that we crawl, we first collect each of it’s links before following these and collecting the details of each page that these link to and so on. There’s a set limit of links that we’ll crawl per page and pages that we’ll crawl per site so it’s expected that we may not follow every link on a site this way. So, if we haven't followed all of the links that exist because of this, they won't contribute to your overall DA or PA. Most new sites and links will be indexed by our spiders and available in Mozscape and Open Site Explorer within 60 days, but some take even longer for many reasons - including the crawl-ability of sites, the number of inbound links to them, and the depth of pages in subdirectories. You can see our most recently updated schedule here as well as some more technical metrics on our Mozscape API Updates page. I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to pop an email over to help@moz.com (our response times can be quicker there:) ).

How can I get links indexed in Just Discovered Links, or Open site Explorer? (Because it aint Bit.ly or Feedly!)
Hi Tawny, Thank you for the thorough answer. I think you'll need to update that section I quoted.. again..! For the record, that's a real shame. It's now a case of myself and others like me educating clients to use different tools. Good luck! Steve

Why can i see domain links for competitors form social media sites such as pinterest and youtube but not for myself??
Hi there! Solid question! This is likely stemming from the fact that sites like YouTube and Pinterest are absolutely massive. Since we aim for our link index to show results from large numbers of sources and not get diluted by all of the millions of links from enormous sites, we limit the number of pages crawled on each domain to ~50,000. As a result, there could certainly be links on those domains pointing to your site that we're not reporting on because they are buried deeper within the site structure than the links to your competitors. I hope this helps to explain! Feel free to hit me up with any further questions or concerns!

(301 Redirect) Link Spam Score: 10/17
Hey there Charles, Sam from Moz's Help Team here! To be completely transparent, the Spam Scores you see in Open Site Explorer are from data collected last year. That means some of the issues listed there might no longer apply to you, or they might have been fixed as you've worked on your site. If you know you've taken care of the issues, then you shouldn't need to worry about the spam flags any longer. We actually don't include any 301s when we crawl a site to assign spam score. The score you see now for the 301 would be from an old crawl that will eventually disappear from the index. Additionally, just because our tool has assigned a site a specific spam score does not mean it is impacting the site in any way. These are merely suggestions of sites to check out. If you haven't determined yourself that they are spammy links, then there is no action or further concern required on your part.

Why doesn't Moz crawler follow robots.txt?
Which I am ok with, but why am I getting duplicate content?

Backlinks
Hi there! Tawny from Moz's Customer Support team here. Open Site Explorer and the Link Analysis page of campaigns are both tied to our Mozscape index, which tends to update roughly once a month. Just a few points on how we compile our index: We grab the most recent index. We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains). We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled ~130 billion URLs The idea here is that we're focusing on the highest-quality links we can find, coming from the most prominent pages of authoritative sites. So, while you may not see every link for a site within our index, we're aiming to report the most valuable ones available! You can also see when the last and next updates happened on the Open Site Explorer (OSE) homepage at any time. Since Moz focuses on quality of links over quantity, we are always focused on the most relevant links to display to our users. It's possible that Moz's index will leave out some of the lower-quality (non-link juice providing) links out of our index because of this. So, that might explain why you may see some discrepancies with what other tools may be showing. I know this is a ton of information, so if you have any questions or if I didn't make anything clear enough, please don't hesitate to ask! You can write in to help@moz.com any time and we'll be happy to work through any questions you might have.

A few questions regarding Moz tools + E-commerce strategy
Hi Mark, It seems MOZ tools don't support ono-latin characters, you would face same problem with most of the SEO Tools. OSE: Missing back-links and High DA website with low DA backlinks
Hi VtigerCRM! Domain authority is made up of multiple factors, but just backlinks to the website. Here’s a good way to think of it: today’s SEO world is about quality, not quantity. For example, it’s not about how many links you can get to point back to your site—it’s about how good those links are. One link from a reputable, authoritative website is better than 20 links from a spammy website or site with a domain authority of 2. And although it seems daunting to a lot of people, there are ways to legitimately link build—guest blogging, broken link building, link requests, and even outbound linking In a May 2013 video right before Penguin 2.0 rolled out, Matt Cutts put it pretty well: “We’re doing a better job of detecting when someone is sort of an authority in a specific space—you know, it could be medical, it could be travel, whatever—and trying to make sure that those rank a little more highly if you’re some sort of authority or a site that according to the algorithms we think might be a little bit more appropriate for users.” Here are the most important SEO success tips (a lot of your competitors are probably using these tips already, so it’s time you joined in): Valuable content Outbound linking Blogging Social media Along with building your backlink profile with quality backlinks, continue creating content that demonstrates you are the authority in this field.

Does MOZ have a Flash test tool?
Hi Lance, If you do end up finding Flash on your site using http://seositecheckup.com/tools/flash-test These links might also be helpful https://moz.com/blog/flash-and-seo-compelling-reasons-why-search-engines-flash-still-dont-mix ( Rand's opinion about Flash and SEO ) http://www.toprankblog.com/2009/11/seo-for-flash-tips/ ( Existing Flash SEO) SE-Flash.com This tool that visually shows what from your Flash files is visible to search engines and what is not. This tool is very useful, even if you already have the Flash Search Engine SDK installed because it provides one more check of the accuracy of the extracted text. Besides, it is not certain that Google and the other search engines use Flash Search Engine SDK to get contents from a Flash file, so this tool might give completely different results from those that the SDK will produce. I hope this helps, please feel free to respond if you have additional questions. Regards, Vijay

Moz Crawl Issue?
Hello! There is no issue if you are only seeing the 200 and 301 responses in the crawl report as it would be normal. We will return an HTTP response code for every page we crawl. Hope this helps!

Site has DA of 26 but no backlinks
I just posted this for a user on a forum I am a moderator on so unfortunately I can't answer that question. This was his reply to your post: "Hi, Thomas I think the lady who replied last to your thread in Moz had hit the spot. backlink from Washington post must have bump up the DA ( Even though the change is too high ). I wonder why this link didn't show up in web master tools. Google mustn't have indexed this link thus far. and Moz not showing the link is also a question. [image: icon_eek.gif]"

Why Page Authority = 1
Hi there - Sam from Moz's help team here! Our Page Authority (PA) is a metric that comes from our Mozscape Index. You can read more about the metric here. Much of the time, pages that have a PA of 1 haven't yet been discovered by our index crawler. You can always use Open Site Explorer to check on whether they are included in the index, and which links we have discovered. Small sites generally won't stay in our index if we don't find new links to a domain. Our cache will remove a link after 190 days unless re-crawled. You can look in Just Discovered (https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/just-discovered?site=moz.com&filter=&source=&target=page&page=1&sort=crawled) to see if your domain is in queue for re-indexing from new discovered links. If not, you will want to keep link building on sites that have high authority and are likely able to be picked up. You can see our most recently updated index schedule here as well as some more technical metrics on our Mozscape API Updates page. You can also see when the last and next updates happened on the Open Site Explorer (OSE) homepage at any time. Just a few points on how we compile our index: We grab the most recent index. We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains). I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or shoot over an email to help@moz.com.

Regarding the SPAM Score
As Samantha mentioned, the Spam Analysis tool is not a 100% accurate tool, it's more of a 'helping tool'. With the tool its best use is to get some ideas on what poor links are pointing towards your site. Even then you need to take the results with a grain of salt. The tool may give you a spam score that is not entirely accurate, you need to examine the links and make sure it is actually spammy. You'll also notice that the tool doesn't pull all the back links to your site. Moz doesn't have the capability that Google does to crawl that much quantity. To get a complete list of your links go into Google Search Console. If you're seeing your rankings and domain authority increasing this is a good sign Google noticed your disavow. Hope this helps. Mozbar have no PA and DA within the bar for the last week.
Hi there - Kristina from Moz's Help Team here. Thanks for reaching out to us and I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with Mozbar. Since this is an extension of your browser, it may be difficult for us to isolate as the toolbar will rely on your personal settings in the browser. Here are somethings you can try to get it working: Make sure you are not in incognito mode Disable/un-install all other extensions leaving just Mozbar to isolate Re-install Chrome Check to see if the address bar is hiding the extension icons: http://www.screencast.com/t/7cLHKkOP Disable any software firewall or security apps As always, you can reach out to our team in the future with any product-related questions by sending an email to help@moz.com or clicking on the little blue chat icon on the lower half of your screen while in the tool. I hope this helps but please let me know if you're still needing assistance. Thank you, -Kristina

Compare Metrics in Moz
Howdy! I'd say the 'Links' section of the Moz Glossary would be a solid place to start.

Moz Pro: Linking RDs to Page much lower than Google Search Console
Hi Jake! Just checking in—were you able to work with our Support team on this issue, or are you able to share the name of the campaign you're referring to? I want to make sure you get an answer.

OSE error?
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you! In general, we can't give you a timeframe for the fix aside from "as fast as humanly possible". With an outage like this, the engineering team works pretty tirelessly to get things back up and running but there can be multiple possible causes and we'd rather not break anything else while we solve the issue. I'm glad the Health Page helped! We will keep updating it with the latest info. We are still monitoring this but things are looking a lot better after the fix we deployed at 13:51 PDT yesterday.
