Google+ Vanity Urls: Brand vs Keyword
There are clearly benefits to both. Brand - Trust. No confusion as to who owns the page. Further Brand recognition Keyword - Could be easier to remember Could help your rankings. Could get direct traffic all by itself. Could generate brand awareness If I were Nike, then I'd go with my brand name over 'shoes'. But as an unknown pest control guy, I'd take 'pestcontrol'

Brand Name searches: Low Click Through Rates in Google - What are your CTR in the SERPS for your Brandname?
I think I fail to understand this report as the math are not making sense: Keyword Tool: 260 searches in broad mach , 210 in phrase match, 170 in exact match. How is it possible to get 320 impressions on the same Query. There are way more impressions than searches for that specific query. Thats nonsens! From Google Support- definition of query: | Query | Only used in the SEO reports. Applies to the actual query entered by a user in Google search. | The actual query entered by a user in Google search. |

Are templates considered duplicate content?
I think if you have very thin content and the source code is the bulk of the content lets say 80% source code 20% unique google may not look favorably on that.... Google has algorithms that put cookie cutter sites in a lower position than custom sites so it is important to have your code somewhat unique. But only have 2 of the sites the same probably is not "the" problem it mainly to penalize people who buy these money making sites for $500 that look the same as 200 other sites except for the content

Is Rel=author appropriate for non-article type pages, a.k.a. business websites
You are very welcome Daniel. I agree with Klarke, do both if you can.

Wow, That's Expensive, I was looking for a cheaper options, I think prweb gives you good result. they got 250,000 bloggers, journalists and consumers. There cost is about $80 which is bit expensive as we regularly want to send pr for various clients on monthly basis.

Rel=author markup in head tag
As far as my understanding goes, you have most of it right, except on #2, the link should have rel=me instead of rel=author but you are right, it is all very confusing

Should I create a Google + account for the brand for Rel=Author
Thanks for the fast reply. I agree with you that in some cases where you buy a service from a person and not a company (i.e dentist, lawyer, CPA etc.) it makes lots of sense and will probably help CTR. However, if I can't use a logo, then it is just for the articles and not for the categories (even though there are informational texts there). Thanks

Video Hosting Question - host on website via wistia type solution or upload to youtube and embed?
Don't think this is a suitable alternative to securely hosting if you want rich snippets - because it isn't. While Yoasts plugin will allow you to get the rich snippet - it won't stop YouTube outranking you for your own video and also only works with a bit of a hack that YT may turn off at any time.

Drop In Rankings / Traffic... Can you find any technical issues with my site?
Let me just call this... "logical speculation".... If you chop a domain's content in half and place it on two different websites, you have also just chopped all of the links, likes, mentions, etc in half. If you do that you should expect every ranking everywhere to drop - because you now have less domain authority - you cut it in half.

Video Hosting and SEO
I tend to use Wistia over Vimeo for that exact reason, it reduces client confusion and time for answers, Not to mention their restrictions on size and bandwidth for the 200 level pro membership! Great Tip.

Can I pick your brains for how to impliment this bit of #RCS?
These are good ideas. I was thinking too small. I'm talking #RCS but still thinking about the number of Facebook likes. What you've suggested really is #RCS. Getting customers involved definitely seems like the way to go. Thank you.

Questions about Press Releases
Thanks Rob. @Tutugirl, see Rob's answer. He answered the timing piece very well... "IF they were really press releases, how would they be timed? "

Anchor Text
Thanks Mike. Understood. I think your anchor text is fine. Have you considered adding the word "Find" or "Shop" or "Buy" to it? Like this: Shop German Shepherd Figurines from MyDomain.com I'd make the whole string one big hyperlink. You are clearly signaling to the user where they are going and what they can do there. I don't think there's anything spammy about that. Then, I would link directly to the German Shepherd Figurines page. I hope that's helpful!

Reposting media releases
Duplicate content was my original concern in posting this question. Considering I haven't posted the news release yet, and 20+ others have, I am not going to post this release on my site. It is a time sensitive news release anyway, so no real need to tell my visitors now (with one day left in the event). I appreciate your input and I'll be sure to post news well ahead of distribution to news and media outlets. Thanks again!
