  • Hi Dinesh, Thanks for the question, unfortunately there is not much you can do aside from notifying Google. If a product feed is inaccurate you will just have to wait for Google to take action and disapprove those products from their feed. I am curious as to the response you received from Google. Please do let us know if anything comes up on this or if you notice the product ads have been removed from results!

  • I didn't realize you could port your number over to an existing call tracking provider. That's interesting. Will see if that's an option that fits into our strategy. Was thinking more along the lines of having a few different numbers to try out and also to use test using local numbers in the various service areas. But like I said, this offers another interesting option. I'm not overly worried about NAP consistency as we used the noidex directives on the landing pages and don't have them linked off the main site or sitemap.. Thanks! Great food for thought.

  • Hey SirMax, AdWords reach numbers have been known to be a little wonky, for another good example of this look no further than Central Park, NY (Zip code 10024, AdWords Criteria ID #9004077) which says the reach is 10MM, but we need to realize that there is much more than just census data factoring into this number. Google also uses: Number of accounts used per person Number of temporary visitors to a geographic location. Length of time each person spends on a website. Number of signed-in users. (Full Documentation) So using the above + census data is how Google came to the 7,220,000 number. It's also important to realize & remember that positive location targeting has 3 options: People in my targeted location People searching for or viewing pages about my location People in, searching for, or viewing pages about my targeted location (Default) Remember these and use them to more accurately target your campaigns. TL;DR: I wouldn't sweat the size of your 'reach' number. Monitor the campaign, specifically on the Campaign>Settings>Locations>View location reports>Where your users were (user locations). This will give you a feel for whether your targeting settings are where they need to be. Hope that helps, let me know if you need any additional information on this one. Trenton

  • Hi, This is the reason that I suggest you to create a separate ad group for BMM keywords only in which you have to add exact match and phrase match query as negative keyword so you can measure the performance of only BMM.   • I've been through something like this once, and, unfortunately, even with substantive ad spend, it took a lot of time and effort to get an AdWords rep involved. You have a couple of choices: (1) Complain very loudly, including Twitter and Google Webmaster Forums. Yes, it's not the ideal solution, but it works more often than it should. (2) Contact anyone you can at AdWords and try to get rep time. I'll tell you what we did - I'm not saying you should do it, but desperate times, etc. We went to a Google Analytics meet-up and got a few cards from Googlers. Then, we emailed all of them. Since they were out of town (for the meet-up), we got their vacation auto-responders, so we emailed all of their bosses. This continued until some VP got so annoyed he demanded someone assign us a rep to shut us up. Look, I'm not proud of it, but that client got their ban lifted.

  • Hi, That is not possible in Google shopping because Google stated very clearly that products price in feed and price on website should be equal otherwise account could get suspended. Once I were showing products price on website excluding VAT and in XML feed inclusive VAT price were showing. Google send me a suspension warning email about that so you have to show the same price in feed and on website including VAT and other charges. Thanks

  • If a site has high DA or PA then you, it doesn't mean it's a high authority site. Search sites that matters to you and invest your money and time there. In the end, you will be on upper edge. Hope this helps! Umar

  • There's basically two ways to look at it and John is right - testing is key. Getting new business is critical obviously and if they're not yet bidding on your brand then I'd focus there BUT it's worse to pay for that first click and then lose the visitor when they find a competitor on the second query.  So if your competitors are bidding on your brand you need to grab it, the cost per click is less and you can't afford to lose the conversion after you're paid for the first click but you of course don't want to use some of the limited budget on a second click if you could have had it organically. Then there comes the discussion over the cost to monitor competitor activities vs the cost of just bidding on the brand.  If it costs more to manage it and monitor then just bidding would be the way to go obviously. Worse case you can test bidding on your brand and monitor the assisted conversions to see how that works out for you.

  • Hi Chris, Apologies for not getting back to you quicker. I believe that Daniel was correct. There are only so many slots available on one page. Even if you search for Grand Theft Auto, there are only roughly 20 positions for a consumer to choose. Then they are listed by price, as most consumers want to see them by price. You can really shine in the shopping section like this by getting a large number of reviewers to review your product. I don't know of many people who use the Google Shopping area without the reviews section. so Even if you were selling something for .99, if you had zero reviews you were probably more likely to not get the click. These ads have always been the cheapest I've ever run. I would definitely recommend playing with your bid and monitoring the impressions, click through rate, and conversion totals. Every business has its own difference when working  with the Shopping campaigns so I would highly recommend spending some time to really isolate your top performing products from your feed and bid on them individually. The more specific you make your bids the less you will likely end up paying.

  • As Matt indicated very difficult to compare as it is rarely apple for apples. An exact impression match would not be the same, unless in the same position & it appeared at the same time - which is impossible. It is a rare a paid ad appears every single time a page is searched and certainly not in the same spot. Organic again has its weakness, as the page may not be optimized for search - hence reading its impressions might not be beneficial as being accurate. I am not sure you can choose anything as accurate as such, but often after we have optimized a page we get more impressions for that keyword - than say what semrush states. We use semrush as the target and try not to settle for less than what they state we should achieve. Most of the time it works.   WMT's is now the best way to measure impressions as it has redacted the double up count, where two urls' or more appeared on the same page. What does WMT's state for impressions? In short to answer your question however use keyword planner or semrush as your base.

  • If you set up the ad in Google Adwords you can just change it in the settings of the ad. https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2404246?hl=en-GB Otherwise if you don't have access to change the ad url or you are using a different way to advertise, the best way I can think to do this would be a 301 redirect. If you have access to the .htaccess file in the root domain its a fairly simple process to do but be careful when you edit the .htaccess file as you can very easily stop your site from working with some incorrect code.   • Thanks Jasmine Great answer and one to which I can completely relate. I have been consulting now for approx. five years. One of the things I have found interesting is the degree to which so many businesses  hamper their own growth through pointless bureaucracy, internal politics and employees who put their personal career progression above the needs of their employer.

  • Hey Crystal, a couple things come to mind in this scenario. The first is the obvious stuff like duplicate GA tags, which in my experience cause 100% bounce rates, not 0%, but still could be a possible issue. The second is that something on the page is firing that causes a "single-visit but non-bounce session". The article linked earlier by Linda is a good explanation of this, but essentially there are multiple interactions a user can have on their first page of the site that would count as a non-bounce visit. They are: Pageviews (sent via _trackPageview) Events (sent via _trackEvent) Ecommerce Items (sent via _addItem) Ecommerce Transactions (sent via _trackTrans) Social (sent via _trackSocial) User Defined _deprecated, though functional _(sent via _setVar) (Cited from http://www.analytics-ninja.com/blog/2012/06/google-analytics-bounce-rate-demystified.html) So, if the developers installed a tag that fired an event when PPC visitors land on the site, for example, that would cause a 0% bounce rate from PPC visitors, even if that user left without viewing another page. Not sure if that's your problem for certain, but it was the first issue that popped into my head. I haven't heard of a remarketing script firing one of these hits but could be the reason.

Here is more information on how to set these up: Cross Domain Tracking - Web Tracking (analytics.js) Set up cross domain tracking Cross Domain Tracking (Google Tag Manager) To answer your questions: 1.) Yes, you can do that. Or you can break it down by hostname as well in your GA data if you don't want to create multiple views. 2.) I would keep it under the same property. It makes it easier to consolidate your data and you're not clicking back and forth. Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • As Kyle says below, CPC isn't Facebook's preferred method, but it is doable.  I think you're confusing the language you reference as meaning payment to be viewed instead of minimum CPC for your ad over a competitors. In other words it sounds like they're saying, "If you set your bid at $10 per click while your next closest competitor is at $1.31 per click, we'll only charge you $1.32 per click, not $10."  Make sense? Kyle outlines well how to set up a CPC campaign. You might want to split test between CPC and CPM though depending on your content, sales, and marketing needs. Cheers!

  • Another cause which is specially common in display networks -not too much in adwords- is that some of the pages which are serving your ads are showing your site with popunder scripts. This allows the site to create the affiliation cookie without the user noticing it. In your case, if it is based only in 17 visits can only be the natural reason: people are not interested in your content for that keyword and leave too soon, as Ryan says.
