  • I agree with the other responders here. As long as it's on-topic, it's generally best to put your blog in a subfolder and keep everything on the same domain.

  • Hi Thomas, Check out this article talking about how Google looks at Twitter's use of the hashbang. http://searchengineland.com/how-twitters-technical-infrastructure-issues-are-impacting-google-search-results-86229 I always link to the non-ajax version. Casey

  • You can use the 'top pages' tab on OSE to see the shares of all the top pages on a particular site. You could then download this data to csv and sort by the shares column to rank it by the most shares. EDIT - Scratch that, just looked it only gives you the top 25 pages with shares Come on SEOMoz! We want all pages included.

  • These are all great responses. In the coming months, we will be integrating the following URLS steripen.com (custom cms), community.steripen.com (Wordpress blog) and buysteripen.com (Magento store) into the core domain of steripen.com. Unfortunately we can't fold our GetSatisfaction implemention under the domain as well. will have to keep subdomain for that. Not looking forward to the potential effects of this but all this feedback is greatly appreciated.

  • why not do a search on facebook and other web 2.0 media websites find pages from other doctor's offices or even similiar "professional" professions like laywers ,accountants etc. and show him those pages as examples. These pages do not have to be local doctors, lawyers. They can be from anywhere - even thousands of miles away. Show him what others are doing.

  • User Generated Content such as comments have been proven to add value to articles. You can capture a lot of long tail phrases. With respect to linking facebook profiles, that is entirely under your control. The plugin should provide you the option to only present the comments without linking to the facebook profiles. If it doesn't, either modify the plugin or find a different one. • Hi Ryan is exactly right about this.  Go to the facebook developers page to create the OG meta data. Specify whatever page you want to show up as shared within the OG meta tag. -Dan

  • You can try combining 2 tools to accomplish this, #1 use advanced search Queries like: Intext:"keyword" + "blog" to find blogs in your industry. #2 Then use a tool that mesures their rss subscribers.  Tool From Google | 3rd Party Tool Best of luck, -Bryant Jaquez

  • Oh, nothing definitive. Just makes sense to me that a duplicate video track footprint would be seen as a duplicate video. Have not tested this myself though.

  • Besides what Ryan said, I'd also add that they still need to clearly convey that they're links to those social media sites. I've seen some customized icons that have gone too far on the stylistic side and they were impossible to tell what they were for.

  • How are they Reddit pyjamas? There's no up or down arrows Pictures will almost only do well if it's a comic or hosted on imgur. AmAs are good because of the reason you mentioned. If it's a popular AmA then you can get a lot of traffic. News stories that make the front page can send hundreds of thousands of visits, but Redditors hate marketers with a passion, so you have to have a genuine story. Posting any old nonsense will just get you downboats.

  • Thanks Greg, I totally get your point about "Earning" links. Struggling a bit with the notion that my competitors will give me a quality link in return for content. why would a competitor do this? I am also struggling with the notion that "The more quality links you get, the higher up in the serps you go. Its that simple." In my recent experience (post panda), that simply isn't true. I have clients with really good link profiles that totally blow away the competition (according to seomoz site explorer), there on-page SEO scores are all "A" yet they rank below many inferior pages and sites. I suppose my worry is that so many other factors are coming in to play that I don't understand. I will keep on "earning" links and see if it has the desired effect. Thanks again
