Is google pushingcoding higher than photo html?
From the fastest ever look at the search for this single word term it looks like those that replaced you are actually talking about the product from a technical perspective than a sales perspective. It might be worthwhile spending some time writing some deep dive FAQs on the product and putting a whole section / category on the website on this and building a resource on this that over time will benefit customers and rankings. It's a bit of hard work but I think Google took a hard look at this area and is perhaps favouring the informational over the sales (whether right or wrong is a different matter)

Mobile Web Sites
Which direction things are headed is very dependent on the type of websites you're building and the type of clients you're serving. A mobile stylesheet is much more feasible in many situations, and provides quite a few SEO benefits as outlined above. Here is a quote from Google Engineer John Mueller stating that single URL is preferred. That said, if you're going to go the route of m.domain.com, then you need to implement rel="canonical" on the mobile site and the desktop site, with the desktop site URL being the canonical URL. Make sure you have a proper redirect on the desktop version of the site that sends mobile users over to the m.domain.com version. From there, I would read the two Google resources below to make sure the Google Mobile Bot can access everything, and you should be good to go. Subdomain or regular domain, which makes most sense for this siituation
If the subdomains are related to the root domain, then subdoamins is the best answer.

Correct Canonical Reference
It's possible that the canonical timing was just a coincidence and something deeper is going on, but I look at it this way - if it's easy to fix, fix it, and then you'll know for sure. It can be really tough to separate technical indexation problems from penalties.

Ajax pagination and filters for ecommerce site
It all depends on how you code the ajax and what you're looking to get indexed on your site. Vague enough? Check out this guide. The major things you want to make sure of are 1) you're not using ajax when you could be using simple HTML/CSS; 2) that you're not using ajax on things you want to be indexed; and 3) that the ajax doesn't make it look like you're cloaking things from Googlebot.

Appropriate domain name
Good still places a huge importance on exact match keywords in the URL. I've got a number of small sites that rank number 1 for their specific keyword all due to the URL and very basic on site optimisation. As for that particular domain name, to me it looks a little long and spammy. I agree with Marisa regarding the hypens, I would try and limit those. I'm sure these have been taken, but try something like: www.webdesignco.com www.webdesignseattle.com (or wherever you are based) www.web-design-company.com www.webdesignseattle.com Etc. Anyway, I would just shorten it a bit and try and limit the hypens.

Mobile Sitemap for Site with Media Queries
GOT IT! cnn.com Search for news on your phone or tablet. cnn.com is first. In fact , on my iphone I see no mobile URLs. Fox News redirects to foxnews.mobi when a mobile user clicks on foxnews.com, but the foxnews.com ranks. I hope this shows you that even though a site might have a mobile version and therefore a mobile sitemap (we'd hope), that doesn't mean the mobile site will outrank the main site on a mobile device. Use your regular sitemaps and call it a day.

I know frames aren't good, but are they bad?
I've found no evidence that a site will get punished for using frames - but google will only read the framed link, not the content of it. So the page need its own on-page content, otherwise pages will be marked as "duplicate content". I would definitely use both title and a paragraph in the iframe-tag to describe the content, to avoid the duplicate content issue.

Google Bot cannot see the content of my pages
Thanks Nakul - Yes, that is an issue too. Do you think it's the same problem preventing Google bot from accessing other category and product pages like this one - http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/DIG-VENUESC48.prod which produces this when fetching as Google Bot in Webmaster tools:: `HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Thu, 26 Jan 2012 00:07:48 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.6 OpenSSL/0.9.7a DAV/2 PHP/5.2.4 mod_jk/1.2.25 Set-Cookie: CCISolutions-UT-Status=66.249.72.113.1327536468869708; path=/; expires=Sat, 25-Jan-14 00:07:48 GMT; domain=.ccisolutions.com Set-Cookie: JSESSIONID=53DED9D79638EFE72D2288D65B4DA7D2; Path=/StoreFront Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Transfer-Encoding: chunked Content-Type: text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1 In other words, do you think the root of the problem is that our homepage is not really http://www.ccisolutions.com, but it is` http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/IAFDispatcher?iafAction=showMain ? Or is there more than one problem here?

E-commerce Site Layout
To my knowledge there is no penalty associated with design elements being re-used across multiple sites. As long as the content is unique there shouldn't be an issue. I certainly wouldn't recommend making a duplicate E-commerce site that sells the same products, but that has nothing to do with the design elements The main concern in this case would be competing keywords, link building and SEO tactics in general.
