META ATTRIBUTES - DOES ORDER MATTER!?!
So I just asked this same question here because I couldn't find any answers from Mozzers on this topic. This was from 2 years ago. I've been finding conflicting advice on META order. It seems like best practice would be to have title before keywords. AM I wrong?

Regarding Infinite Scroll
If your scroll, is not that large, them you can load all the html with the page and display it on scroll. this way it is all indexed, but if it is truly a lot of data and you are using ajax to get this data, then you need to ask yourself, do I really need the content indexed. If yes, then Johns idea is a good one, albeit not necessary a nice looking one, depending on the design

Moving the site and Rebranding
There's really no "right" answer for this since I don't recall any official statement about it. I would just move, make sure all my redirects/content are done. Then start applying the redesign. Normally I would wait for it to be crawled but nowadays, I just jump right into the redesign after moving all the content/301's. I've never really seen big problems, normally, just small dips but it usually goes back to normal.

How to add SEO Content to this site
Is the content that will be added readable? Looking in SEO browser, it doesnt seem that it is. Check out the report here: http://seo-browser.com/index.php?address=http%3A%2F%2Fdeepdesign.co.za%2Fprint-printer-printing%2F&button0.x=68&button0.y=15&button0=Simple If the content cannot be read by a search engine, any content you add will no have any effect on your rankings. The boxes that slide out (if your plan is to retain that design), should link to sub pages of focused, relevant content. I think you should also take a very close look at the way the pages/URL's are set up. print-printer-printing/ with a page title of "PRINT, PRINTER, PRINTING! | DEEPDESIGN" Very spammy, and even if Google allows it to rank I doubt a user would be compelled to click that result out of one that states something like "Graphic Design and Printing Services -YOURCOMPANY" I would look at all aspects of the site, even if their budget is low. Doing SEO work just for the sake of getting paid will not get the company the results they are looking for. I would check the template to see what is readable text, then focus your efforts on cleaning up the on page and off page SEO.

Will changing product from Grouped to Simple on my magento category page affect my SEO?
Hello Ben, Have you already made the change? Every product I looked at from that page had only one size/color/material, etc... What is the purpose of the change? Will the simple products AND the grouped products to which they belong all be indexable on their own URLs? Grouping products is one way to reduce the amount of product pages on the site by allowing shoppers to choose options from a single product page (e.g. size, color, material...) that would otherwise be listed as its own sku. If your goal is to allow shoppers to view each as its own product then that's fine as long as you're willing to write 100% unique, useful copy/descriptions for each of those pages. If not, it would be better to keep them grouped. As for the category page, I don't think it matters much what products are being featured there in terms of how the category page will rank. It will affect the pagerank being distributed to product pages though, so rankings could drop for your grouped product pages if you are only linking/showing simple products on category pages. Without a little more detail about how you group products and what you're trying to accomplish it's hard to provide a great answer.

Should i not use hyphens in web page titles? Google Penalty for hyphens?
John Mueller from Google has mentioned that there is no penalty or demotion for using a hyphen. However, be careful you're not keyword stuffing.

Drop Down Menus and Crawlability
"But if they are already in the html, would that be considered cloaking?" There are times when presenting something in HTML that is otherwise not visible, but having other features on the page that allow people to read / click / access that content in other ways, is fine. Linking is a tricky because links are so inherently valuable in terms of SEO. You don't can't really be too careful. I'd be wary of presenting links (a subset or full set) in HTML if there is a form process to actually arrive at the links' targets. Essentially you'll be linking to products X, Y and Z on a page, for search engines but requiring a specific input from a user to see X, Y or Z - an input that only very few overall visitors are actually likely to make. I would say this qualifies as showing different content for SEO's sake and not providing a UX alternative that is pretty much the same thing. Others may disagree with me on that - I'm being wary here I would very much like to see the HTML if you are still active in this thread when it is produced, but you may be left with a situation where the pages need to be linked to elsewhere throughout the site to ensure they are crawled.

404's and a drop in Rank - Site maps? Data Highlighter?
No, we stayed with .aspx. I was also told that we received a call from "Google" coming into our main telephone number, and it was an automated call that asked about changes to the site, and if we would like to speak to a live person. By the time the call was transferred, we lost the call. (twice.) That could have been someone from Adwords, as I was also reaching out to them about some other things. The weird part about the call was that the receptionist swears that she heard "We're calling to confirm changes to your site." before she tried to transfer the call to my office. I have never heard of Google calling regarding WMT, or site changes.

Advanced 301 Redirects
I've been using regexpal for a while. I think I like regex101 better.

Best SSL Certificate to Use
There's several different kids of SSL but it sounds like you're talking about a single domain. That narrows things down to the two most common kinds: domain validated and extended validation. Domain validation is the most common kind of certificate. The certification authority will send an email to the administrative contact listed on the WHOIS of the domain. Typically it's a link and you click it and that's all that's involved. These are relatively inexpensive but only work for one domain or subdomain (i.e. the certiciate will be issued for www.domain.com but won't show as valid for domain.com). In this same vein, but more expensive, is the wildcard certificate, which works for all subdomains (*.domain.com). Extended Validation is only available for corporations and you have to jump through a LOT of hoops to get one (birth certificate of one of your officers, letter of validity from your lawyer or accountant, etc.). They take some time to get but the advantage is that you get the coveted green bar (see PayPal's site for a good example). It doesn't matter who issues the certificate. Verisign used to be a huge name in this area but not so much in recent years. You'll pay more for their name and "warranty", but I doubt anyone outside the industry itself could tell you who Verisign is, let alone what the difference is. I have two Godaddy certificates and it hasn't slowed us down one bit. Many people simply resell for another authority (i.e. GeoTrust, Comodo, etc) The encryption itself doesn't differ between certificates. Your Private Key (the piece your server needs to decrypt the traffic) and Certificate Signing Request(CSR) will have to be at least 2048 bits in strength (industry-wide). The actual encryption between your server and your client's browser is something that is negotiated as part of the "handshake" when the connection is first made and is most likely 128 bits (although some browsers and servers can support 256 bits). One thing you will need to note is the difference between SHA1 and SHA2 (Godaddy directly asks you which you want and I'm sure the others do as well). When you look at a certificate's details in your browser you'll see who issued a certificate. If it says G2, they're using SHA2. SHA1 has some weaknesses and is being phased out. The only people who will notice the difference are people running Windows XP SP2 or earlier (running any browser, even Chrome or Firefox) and they'll get an invalid certificate warning. Be sure that your host has plugged the Heartbleed bug or you'll expose your private keys (anyone with your private key can decrypt your traffic).

Duplicate Product Descriptions for Each Variant
David, You are absolutely right. Ultimately it depends on whether customers will search by color or not. Thank you for clarifying this. Cheers,
