Can You Recommend An SEO Consultant To Support Our Panda Recovery Efforts?
He is an example of someone who by providing useful information and actionable insight for free to others in the field has gained a lot of "fans". I follow him on Twitter and he doesn't just share the links that every other SEO is retweeting he also comments about his own experiences with clients and their sites. He also likes a good SEO rant which can be entertaining to read.

Yet another Panda question
Did you add any links to that particular page? I have seen a handful of links with similar anchor text published at the same time kill a ranking.

Google removing pages from Index for Panda effected sites?
Hey mike, I'm not sure if I understand your question completely but I'l give it a shot. You are saying that links you used to find in OSE, Yahoo site explorer, majestic etc are now not showing up when you repeat searches? If that's true I wouldn't look to much into it. I've used Yahoo lots of times and the links jump in and out of their index. What about Google webmaster tools? I'm assuming if they are clients you have access to that data, have a look in their as to which links Google reports, these tend to not move as much since Google don't seem too bothered about telling you information about your own site. In any case if they are crappy links you should be focusing on getting them taken down, in which case it's nothing to worry about. Specifically on Panda though, yes Google could definetly be removing pages if they are really bad content, after all thats what panda was made for. Hope this helps Craig

Difference in which pages Google is ranking?
I've noticed a decrease in brand-focused searches for our site, but for our actual terms, no, no changes. Entry pages have definitely switched up, however. Did your ranks end up getting negatively effected by the recent switch-ups, or are different pages literally being switched out at the same ranks?

No-follow tags on links in the footer...do it or don't do it?
This is more a question than discussion. If you no-follow on the footer, than that will be for the entire site (same footer on all pages, which means all footer links on all pages are no-follow), which is probably not desired. Can you code to not show the footer links, or reduced links on those pages? Footer links should not be your site map on the bottom of each page, but rather, a list of key resource pages such as contact, company, high level product categories, FAQ, sign up for email, social networking links, etc. If you want more details, please provide a link.

Ranking Riddle Who Gets the #1 Spot?
Given the raw data, I would go with FB also, however, that is not the case. I don't think the backlinks are suspicious as they are competitors in the same market and that is the #1 keyword for that market.

Removing secure subdomain from google index
I think you're saying you have mainwebsitethatsellsstuff.com securesubdomainof.mainwebsitethatsellsstuff.com and that you want to keep the main domain, and remove the subdomain, and that it's not a case of http vs https with the URL otherwise being the same, right? You can verify a subdomain in Google Webmaster Tools and remove the entire subdomain. I've had to do this for a dev subdomain that accidentally got indexed. I was able to keep the main domain, and remove the subdomain. The key is to verify that subdomain, and leave the main domain alone, provided I'm understanding your question correctly.

Are you seeing changes in your sites today? Panda 2.2?

Did google change their algorithm over the past week?
The SEO community are going nuts at the moment discussing the implications of Panda 2.2 which seems to be in operation. Do a search and you'll see what they're discussing.

Sudden drop in all (keyword) +widgets keywords, after years of dominating
Panda 2.2 is a much more subtle change than Panda 1.0 or 2.0 were. . A few of us in the industry believe that Panda 2.2 was rolled out this past week. There's subtle changes for many sites, and that's what it seems to be, however it's both too early to tell, and as EGOL points out, there are many other possible causes for any single site.

Why google index ip address instead of the domain name?
Hi Frank Yes sorry that was my mistake - I think all the japanese writing confused me How long has it been sicne the 301 redirect was implemented? This should solve your problem once the site is re-crawled.

SEO Faith Shaker... help!!
Just as a FYI... We have had two clients move to Word press platforms in the last month, and both had a big gain in rankings for a few days ( not sure if it was a week or 10 days, we don't check every day) but then both dropped back to where they had been (basically). Like others here, and I discuss this with clients often; don't pay any attention to major changes in rankings unless they last for a few weeks. Would you let us know what happens to your clients ranking on the word press site?
