I hear a lot of people saying they are doing so, but I have not seen any results. I wonder if it is that easy, seeing that Matt Cutts has saiid that subdirectories or subdomsisns there is no difference. I noticed that site links have links to sub domains, and recetly GWMT have stated showing subdomain links as internal links unless the subdomain is verified under another user.

Heloo, i'am new on seo and i have 1 blog hosted on blogspot. Few 2 weeks i host my blog (unlock-all-phone.blogspot.com) to domain (http://unlockboot.com/). My page rank on *blogspot is 1, but on the new domain is 0 Any solutions?

Yes, Xenu Link Sleuth is supposed to be able do this. Here is a helpful post that includes a section on redirects. It looks like the Yahoo Site Explorer and Open Site Explorer also report the 301s they are aware of as backlinks. I'd love for someone else on here to confirm. Like you I've also seen 301's significantly positively impact rankings. Good luck with your research!

For the people I've seen it work for, they were "complaining" on Google+ and Twitter.

One additional note Diane. I am confident your web server itself is working properly and the issue is the site optimization. I performed a test of loading your site on the Alerta link I provided in the initial reply and most locations load your site in 10+ seconds. When I repeat the same test with your robots.txt URL (http://www.in2town.co.uk/robots.txt) the maximum load time is HongKong which is less then 1 second. Your site does not have a 404 page so I used the emptiest page I could find for an additional test (http://www.in2town.co.uk/Discount-Shopping). That page's worst loading time in the US and UK was still under 6 seconds. While that's not good, it is much better then your home page loading time. This again indicates your issues are related to optimization of your site.

Are you in Austrailia?  We have IP based redirection in place to redirect Austrailians to the Aussie version of our site (au.ixl.com) via a 302.  I still don't know why Alexa would be displaying that as the title of our site...

Hi Kyle, The menu is straight HTML atm, so that is causing a problem with the links per page. 300-500 links on most pages. I am working on getting this recoded to work as an AJAX call to only load the parts of the menu the user wants to see. Thanks for your help!

We were able to resolve this issue.  our .htaccess file was hacked and had a redirect set up for referrals from google.
