Schema.org Implementation: "Physician" vs. "Person"
Hi, It's really hard to pick right option in these kind of situations since there isn't right answer There are perfectly good arguments for choosing both options and there isn't clear definition on what would classify something for one schema and not for another. Best advice I can give you is to go with what feels right to you. Kind regards Bojan

Software to add subtitles to videos?
Aeronet offers some great suggestions, i just have a couple of additional resources to recommend: if you're uploading to YouTube, Caption Tube is a nice service which makes it quick to create a closed caption file. Also, if you host with Wistia, they will create the files for you at a (pretty reasonable) price of $5 per minute of video. For general transcriptions through audio, video and all express scribe is a great bit of software - though make sure you also get the foot pedal!

Canonical Problem
It looks like you're 301-redirecting you're root site to the "/index.php" version of the page. The problem is that you're linking to the root "/" in the navigation and most of your inbound links are probably to the root. So, you're sending a mixed message about which version is actually canonical. I would stick to the root, personally. The non-www vs. www issue is also in play, but I think it's a secondary problem.

Branded Searches -- Should I Name My Products Differently?
While it's true that big brands get away with more than other sites, I think it's a lot more complex than that. Big brands also have massive link profiles and high authority, which cushions a lot of other problems. Some big brands actually were hit by Panda, although to varying degrees. Driving brand searches alone isn't going to work for most sites. Google is taking more offline factors into account for what constitutes a brand, I'm willing to bet. They're also looking at overall volume, authority, social activity, etc. It's not going to be easy to make yourself look like a big brand online if you aren't in "real" life. If you want to build your brand, that's fine, and I think it's certainly good to do things like use some branded terms in anchor text (just for diversity). It's also, of course, a business decision as much (or more) than an SEO one. There's value to brand-building. I just wouldn't treat it as a cure for SEO problems. There are plenty of easier and more effective ways to prevent algo-related issues. A lot of Panda comes down to content quality, aggressive advertising, and site architecture.

Manage Ranking for " Out of Stock" pages
Hi EssEEmily and Loren, Thanks for answering the question. I have attached a snapshot of the page which shows up when a product goes out of stock. There is relevant information which is shown on the webpage and good amount of content as well. we also show related searches for that product so that there is valuable content and user interactivity present on the webpage but the rankings go down as soon as it goes out of stock. i hope this image give more details on the page which shows up for you to answer. Thanks. DS8M7.png

Optimizing the HomePage of a WordPress blog
Hi Sal, One way that works is to create a sticky post which always stays at the top. So it will be the first paragraph or so of text on the page. You can have your keywords in it, and it can be used to convey the most important message to your visitors. Most important is the content in my opinion. Cheers, Peter Mead

Undocumented anchor-text API result
Hey Max, *imr is the "raw" internal MozRank value. The "pretty" value that most people use for their applications is *imp, which has been fit to a nice 0-10 scale. *imr isn't an official data point in the API, just meaning we reserve the right to change as necessary, which is why we don't have it documented. However, we still return the value if you know the endpoint Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions! Thanks, Carin

Google Webmasters not Accurate
Thanks! And yes, I know there is no actual value in the keywords tag. I figure its worth keeping because doesn't hurt and the content writers can use it to quickly see the main KWs for each page.

Site dropped rankings when changing host from US to Spain
You should also check for Canonical redirection or if you had any redirection in place and if it's still working. As state below I strongly believe that depending of the target market of your site the geotargeting is better when your hosted in the country your targeting.

Sitemap not indexing pages
Hi Sara, it's difficult to provide any specific hints without seeing the website in question. I would suggest that you start by reading Webmaster Guidelines from Google: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769 Make sure that you site complies with these recommendations, especially when it comes to content. If many pages on your site are thin on content, or have duplicate content issues, these would be the likely reasons.

Sitemap or Sitemaps for Magento and Wordpress?
Marcin's answer is correct. A couple items to add-on: you can indicate the location of your sitemaps in your robots.txt file if you do update your sitemaps in Google, I suggest taking the same action for Bing. While Google does control about 70% of the search market, keep in mind Bing + Yahoo is the other 30% and the traffic is significant. there are ways to provide a single sitemap but your choice would either be having an external tool crawl your site (not recommended) or having a coder either merge the sitemaps or provide an internal solution.

Does having a file type on the end of a url affect rankings (example www.fourcolormagnets.com/business-cards.php VS www.fourcolormagnets.com/business-cards)????
The bad things about programming extensions, php, pl, asp and others are: - that you are telling people the code on your site - that you are adding one more thing that people need to remember - you are obfuscating your link name As josh says, it doesn't make any difference to the search engines, but the lack of the extension is cleaner.

Duplicate titles but redirecting anyway (without redirects set up!!!)
It can depend on your server, but usually this is normal (at least by design). When you make URL/structure changes in WP, it automatically creates 301 redirects. So if you change the permalink, or category info for a page, it should update all "old" links to redirect to the new way. Keep in mind that this is by design, and not always the most accurate. I've had a few clients with weird permissions and it didn't work. Keep watch over your GWT for 404s. GWT can take some time to update. When you're looking at the errors, check the date of the last time Google noticed the problem. Check them manually. If everything appear to be fine then you're likely good to go. Check in a week or so, and if things are still amiss, then something went wrong.

How to Target Multiple Keywords in Single Page
Not saying these are best... just how I do it.... 1) How do we optimize the URL structure? For ex... We have keywords aa, ab and ac, where a is the base keyword I use most searched keyword. 2) How do we go about mentioning the multiple targeted keywords in meta description.. We've read the articles at SEOMoz.. but would want opinions I do something like this.... formal name: blah blah slang name Brass Widgets: Also know as gold widgets are kickass.... What about H1, H2 and H3 Tags? how do we go about optimizing these for the multiple keywords I optimize H1 for formal name and use slang (highest search volume) in H2 4) Is it a good idea to put up these multiple keywords on the sidebar of our website... we're basically referring to breadcrumbs all over over website for the targeted keywords... I just include them in the text of the page.
