  • One thought is that it would add legitimacy to the comment, and get it approved. On some systems, the first comment needs to be manually approved, and after that the person can freely comment.

  • I would propose to keep up the work with local link building. Your positions are not bad and with constant work you will have the chance to raise you visibility level there. Just don't forget to target locally. I don't really know the niche to well, but I would say that maybe you should rethink your link strategy. Maybe we can brainstorm in the evening if you have time. • Hey Ryan Thanks for the input. Will definitely focus on the strongest content they have and work from there. Will explore possibilities for a 404. Phil

  • You might first want to browse through Dr. Pete's post about how many links is too many at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many

  • I don't know if it does anything more than an offline copy. I haven't encountered your use case before, so haven't looked for that. You might look to see if that program or others has those types of options that could help you.

  • MyNet, I would encourage you to actually write unique meta descriptions as to some extent it can determine you sites ctr.

  • Hi CrazySeo It is very important to pinpoint your business geographically. 50% of all searches on mobile devices are looking for local content/products. Regards Alsvik

  • I would mix it up a bit. Don't try for a percentage though, just go with it. Search for "wifi" and note that the top result is wikipedia, and they use Wi-Fi in the title tag and yet it is still bolded. This is why I say SEs see them as the same words. If it makes sense to pepper the different uses, and both are grammatically correct, go for it. Just don't waste a lot of time doing it as I don't think the returns are great enough.

  • This post I found on the web may offer a solution for you. At the very least, it seems like you wouldn't have to go into Google Reader. But it looks like you still need to input the name of the Feedburner feed somehow. http://hellboundbloggers.com/2010/12/17/find-rss-subscribers-of-any-blog/

  • Thanks for the response, and yes, we are moving results pages also. The most important thing is maintaining the visibility of main site, and we would not want to harm it by moving it completely. I have heard that subdomains struggle to get independent SEO strength though - do you know if there is some truth to this? Thanks Matt

  • If I was looking at any project where 100% of the business came from search my priority would be to correct that rather than looking at the mix of where that search traffic comes from.

  • Hello deciph22 Also check that you have no links that still point to the old structure urls Ad check that you only refer to your home page in one way - don't refer to it as / and also as index.html or any other default page. I see a lot of sites that do it and it will hurt your ranking

  • Hey Will, This sounds like an interesting problem! I'd be happy to look into it fully for you if you're willing to share the URL of the page and the keywords returning the video results? If you don't want to share it publicly, then feel free to PM/email me and i'll take a look. Cheers, Phil

  • This site gets a lot of image search traffic.  I can not tell you if the captions assist with that traffic.  But I do know that kickass images on a same-topic page will get traffic.
