Robots.txt file - How to block thosands of pages when you don't have a folder path
Also remember that blocking in robots.txt doesn't prevent Google from indexing those URLs. If the URLs are already indexed or if they are linked to, either internally or externally they may still in appear in the index with limited snippet information. If so, you'll need to add a noindex meta tag to those pages.

This is kind of a trick question, but if you could only do ONE thing to improve your search ranking what would you do?
Definitely blog. If written well and focused on topics that are interesting and relative to your keywords they can be a huge marketing tool. I am currently working on a site that has just 7 backlinks and the only marketing we are focusing on is blog, we have managed to obtain p1 rank under around 15 medium competition search terms in the last few months. However I would stress that the content has to be good quality, original and informative for it to have any ongoing weight for SEO.

What next with SEO
I'd focus on doing new content myself before outsourcing (provided it is relevant). Firstly I'd create a plan to work out what kind of content is needed and how much time/resource is required to produce it before going ahead, some ideas: Clients can provide a review of the design work you did for them, they may write the whole thing for you and in return they get a link back to their website Are there any current pages that cover multiple themes (i.e. target multiple keywords). Perhaps these could have their own pages (make sure you have enough content on both pages!). Doing this might only require 30% of the time to produce than writing for a new topic from scratch. Do you have time to blog (on your website) - make sure it's relevant to your website. Are there quick wins from pages under optimized; like does your homepage need more indexable content? What about your company page? Perhaps if your staff have specialties you can have a individual employee pages where the content is there bio followed by 'relevant' information about their skill set (keyword target) and how your company can help the client. Don't forget the call-to-action as well. Start up your link building again but maybe focus on content (try guest blogging or press releases). You can use www.odesk.com for quick and cheap content writers. I use them from time to time and provided I select the right person I'm pretty happy with the site. Good luck, Davinia

Are we being Penalized? Can someone Assess Please!
It doesn't necessarily matter if the auto generated content is unique or not - Panda was intended to penalize low quality content (such as auto generated content), not just duplicate content. Even if you were able to figure out a way to auto generate content that didn't get penalized, there's a good chance you'll get penalized in a future update.

I'm going to close this discussion so we can consolidate into a single thread at http://www.seomoz.org/q/google-launches-their-disallow-tool

Authorship/Ranking when 2 separate authors
It's definitely possible to get Google authorship for a PDF: https://plus.google.com/+MarkTraphagen/posts/j7rN1AWzAK5 But I can't figure out how to do it! Anyone know?

Migrating a very large site
I agree with Irving in that it would be best NOT to migrate. But if you must, here is a useful guide: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/seo-guide-how-to-properly-move-domains

Changing the G+ Author
How about using person #1 - real person as G+ author of the site pages so that the image appears in the search results. Then if person leaves company, change to person #2, basically changing the authorship for the content in the website (e.g. change schema from person a's G+ account to person B's for same content)? Thanks!

What is a good, structured link building campaign?
Hi Mango Man- Here is a post with a 6 month link-building strategy. This could help you out and give some structure to your link-building campaign: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-6-month-link-building-plan-for-an-established-website -Joey

Rankings improvement strategy
I read a good post that had a 6 month link-building strategy. Something like this would give you the tight plan you seek to follow. Check it out and let me know if it is helpful: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-6-month-link-building-plan-for-an-established-website

How important is the number of indexed pages?
Irving - thanks for the response. I appreciate the insight. A few follow-up questions if you have the time: So is it relatively safe to assume that if no content is being lost and duplicate content is being eliminated, then consolidation of URL's (pages) is smart? Even if this results in the number of indexed pages dropping from 15,000 to 3,000? This consolidation should conserve link juice and help make the category & sub-category pages much stronger correct? Good point on the host crowding - all of the pages I'm looking at consolidating are deep in the site and really just product pages that are filtered very granularily, so they aren't high in the SERPS.

Canonical Meta Tag Best Practices
I prefer to think of it as "index control", since PR sculpting has a history of being abused, but you've covered the big ones. Obviously, good site architecture is the first step. If they tag exists in 2012, I pretty much covered it in this article: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/duplicate-content-in-a-post-panda-world
