Migrating a very large site
-
hello,
we are thinking about changing imageworksstudio.com to imageworkscreative.com
we have TONS of of pages and want to make sure that our Page Rank and Rankings are maintained. Are there any best practices or specific guides for redirecting for such a large site (which already has a bunch of redirects in place in the first place)
Thanks!

Nooooo. Recommend you do not do this just for a slight name change. You are basically starting all over with a new untrusted domain. Domains should only be changed if absolutely necessary, especially with large sites. Your site is PR5 and probably rocking.
If the site ranks, is not penalized and you rely on the traffic for the business to thrive then leave it alone. Also daisy chaining 301 redirects causes PR loss, just thought I would mention that because you said you already have a lot of redirects in place.
If you are doing this for SEO (because "studio" is searched more than "creative") then work that keyword into the copy of your pages instead and don't mess with the domain name. Once you choose a domain name you should be married to it.

I agree with Irving in that it would be best NOT to migrate. But if you must, here is a useful guide: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/seo-guide-how-to-properly-move-domains
