What's the Best Host For WordPress sites
I've set up WP sites on both A Small Orange and WP Engine. I like them both a lot, but WP Engine is my favorite. The extra cost is recouped in time not spent doing constant backups, installing updates, jumping through hoops to set up redirects, etc.

One company, two address. How do I handle footer NAP?
Hi DigitalWorkboots, Yes, put both complete NAPs in the footer, preferably using Schema markup. Also put them both on the contact us page, as well as having a separate landing page for each office.

Link Building: What Can I Reasonably Expect from SEO Firm
5-10 linking domains per month sounds reasonable if they are relevant editorial links. Building links can involve spending a lot of time to research opportunities to find websites that would want to link to you or should be linking to you. For example, a relevant link opportunity would be a local real estate association that lists local brokerages. Another example might be a local website that already lists your competitors. Other times, links are result of building a relationship over time like a connection you have with a friend or complimentary business. If the SEO firm is manufacturing links that you don't really deserve, then that can hurt you in the long run. Ultimately, a link building campaign is like any investment in marketing and carries some risk of failure.

What are Soft 404's and are they a problem
Hi Jeff, I had the same issue with a client last year. In a nut shell a soft 404 error is when the page looks like a regular 404 error web page but the http response header returns 200 OK. So search engines think that the page is okay (a regular webpage) but there is no content on that page etc. Your webteam will need to identify how they are producing the soft 404 error pages (with 200OK header responses) and change that set-up in the CMS. Or, if these are old pages that are no longer required and are no longer driving traffic then archive/delete them. Good luck, Davinia

Is there a limit to images file names?
I agree with Sean - I've never heard of an official limit to image filenames in terms of length alone. Since the file name is almost always part of the image URL, you could be running the risk of too-long URLs but that's a relatively minor problem. I would make extra sure that your file names don't appear keyword-stuffed, though - so watch out for things like repeating keywords or having all variations of a keyword. There's a big difference between widgets-extralarge-round-blue-widgetmaker.jpg and blue-widgets-best-blue-widgets-blue-widgets-online-free-shipping, if that makes sense. Other than that you should be fine.

Help understanding 301 domain redirect
Hi Gary, To answer each of your questions: 1. Unfortunately, it isn't that simple. There are a few factors that Google will take into account when it sees 301 redirects to a new domain. In the past, this technique has been used to manipulate Google, for example people would buy expiring domains that have links pointing to them, then 301 that domain to their own - even if the domain was in no way related to what the expired domain was about. So Google will look at the relevancy of the links and try to figure out if the redirects would make a good user experience for anyone who clicks on the links and gets redirected. 2. Yes. Google needs to crawl the links in order to find the redirect and see where it points to. Depending on how strong your website is in terms of link equity, it may take a few hours to a few weeks for Google to crawl all of the pages on your site and find the redirects. Because of this, redirecting one site to another can often lead to at least a temporary loss in traffic for the domain whilst Google figures out what is going on. I hope that helps! Paddy

Using unique content from "rel=canonical"ized page
Yeah, I tend to agree with Maximilian and Mike - I'm not clear on the use-case scenario here and, technically, pages 1 and 2 aren't duplicated. Rel=canonical probably will still work, in most cases, and will keep page 2 from looking like a duplicate (and from ranking), but I'd like to understand the situation better. If Google did honor the canonical tag on page 2, then the duplication between pages 2 and 3 shouldn't be a problem. I'm just thinking there may be a better way.

Two sites with same content in different countries. How does it effect SEO?
You need to add hreflang tags: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en Basically tell Google to index the .co.uk to Google.co.uk visitors and everyone else sees .com

Should sitemap include https pages?
Hi Frederico, On the google Sitemaps Errors help page, they include the following information: "You should also check that the URLs all begin with the same domain as your Sitemap location. For instance, if your Sitemap is listed under http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml, the following URLs are not valid for that Sitemap: http://www.google.com — it's in the google.com domain rather than the example.com domain http://example.com/ — it's missing the initial www www.example.com/ — it's missing the protocol (http), and will generate an Invalid URL warning https://www.example.com/ — it's using a different protocol (https rather than http) Any URLs in the Sitemap that are not denied are processed normally." This leads me to understand that Google don't want you to put http urls in an https sitemap and also vice-versa. What makes you believe otherwise?? Hoping to get to the bottom of this - thanks for the ongoing feedback

Please help with some content ideas
Hi Bob, That sort of idea could work really well for you too. I'd suggest reaching out to experts in your niche and asking them for their Small Business Marketing in 2014 Predictions (it's that time of year, right?). Resource-style content also seems to work well in the small business space. I've been working with my client Simply Business for a number of years now, creating guides around various topics which have been pretty successful: http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/guide-to-social-media-success/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/productivity/email-guide/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/google-adwords/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/wordpress-for-small-businesses/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/google-analytics-guide/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/twitter-for-small-businesses/ http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/microsites/googleplus-for-small-businesses/ You might also find some ideas here: http://moz.com/blog/companies-in-boring-niches-creating-great-content I hope this helps, Hannah

Help with Best Content Posting Approach - WordPress site
Would it be possible to write an overview or introduction to the chart, and talk about the concepts and a) give context to the reader and make it easier for the reader to understand and b) give information to the search engines too?
| KeriMorgret0 -
How is this possible?
I check your site that you give me here, there is smaller links and has low as 13 Domain authority, it may happen because of site behavior, google may think that this site may performs better in search results to the users. Don't go forward if site don't have unique content and also not have better social points then site go down, you have to concentrate on your website, if you want to rank your site, you must start working on it. Build better links, Increase PA & DA, and definitely you got better ranking.
