  • Have you thought about reaching out to Bing? They have a team of specialists that you can reach if you have set up a Bing Webmaster Tools account. That might be a really helpful resource in solving this problem.

  • Hi Jess, You'll probably want to figure out what kind of SEO work you need done, technical or editorial. Technical optimization of a website deals with a site's code, user experience, and overall performance while editorial optimization deals with content, linking strategy, and conversion goals. Structured data fits right in the middle, with both technical and editorial expertise needed. Which one to prioritize depends on the resources you have and how fast you need to see results. It will also depend on how competitive your chosen keywords are for the pages you want to rank. I recommend you offer to pay for ranking performance. Offer a certain amount of compensation commensurate with the number of pages that improve for selected keywords over a certain amount of time. You can get a good baseline right here on Moz.com, and then monitor progress every week or two. Insist on proper SEO strategies and put payment penalties in place for any black hat activity. I've work under this model with several clients and they all seem to be pretty happy being able to see what they're buying. Before you do all this, make sure it's cost effective--advertising might give you more bang for your buck in a shorter amount of time, depending on your type of business. Kevin

  • Hi There You need to unblock the site in your robots.txt and then go into Google webmaster tools and "Fetch as Google". Check out the image I attached for you. I usually Fetch and Render then Submit to index. It's usually very quick to index. 2nzscmZ.png?1

  • Hi Stephen, Well obviously you haven't tagged your new posts with any Schema.org markup, otherwise it would show up there. You could look into using Schema.org/WebPage or Schema.org/Article / Schema.org/NewsArticle if you think that would be relevant to Google.

  • That is what I thought but our numbers are so off that it didn't make sense. This site has a great web presence with high impressions and image impressions are much higher. Personally I use web search much more then image search and I imagine most other people do as well.

  • My firm has tried working with cheaper ($300ish a month) SEO companies, and the results were inconsequential. It felt like throwing money away - over many months, we never made any real headway. I would suggest looking for a qualified freelancer versus a company at this point - with less overhead, they are sometimes able to work for a lower rate. If you have a solid idea of what needs to be done, perhaps you can find an intern to do the actual tasks? I agree with all the other comments - the sooner you start, the better, and you do have some catching up to do now. But all isn't lost. Keep plugging away and you'll get there.

  • I would try to use a Mod Re-Write with 301 to handle the new url with the ? attached. That way your old domain points to the new domain with 301 taking into account the ? at the end. This may do it... <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On   RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^olddomain.com$ [OR]   RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.olddomain.com$   RewriteRule (.*)$ http://www.newdomain.com/$1? [R=301,L]</ifmodule> I'm not a pro at Apache re-writes but when I get stuck on coding unfamiliar things I love Stackoverflow just don't get offended by the Elite snobs

  • Thanks Travis, I have discovered that for some users the initial page loads up to 3 times nearly immediately without it being visual.  It never happens to me or any or the browser/system combinations I use on remote machine testing - even if I match someones setup who is getting the problem, but there is no question it is happening.  This was triggering the robot message I was giving.  I don't yet know the cause as the typical culprits don't apply.  I relaxed the rule by 1 more load in 30 seconds, which is why you didn't get a message.  Am going to use someone's computer tomorrow that gets the problem to try and narrow it down. Agree on the human testing.  Thanks for the suggestions. take care

  • That test in no-way proves that the link passed PageRank. I'm not sure about an href within an iframe, but equally I don't see any reason why you would do that?

  • Hey Noah, Ray's comment above is correct but might be unclear. Yoast handles this the way you want - you've got a theme issue. This code is wrong: if(!wp_title("",false)) { echo bloginfo( 'title');} ?> This tells Wordpress to output "page title - blog name" as the H1. Yoast isn't interfering in that. You'll want your H1 to say this:

  • This does seem like a good opportunity for you to do better than your competitors. Obviously, that's a huge amount of pages with issues. I agree with EGOL's suggestion to remove the brand name if that's one thing making your titles too long. Otherwise, prioritize your most important pages and start there. It's my perception that a good page title is important for SEO, but it's even MORE important because it represents a chance for you to communicate with the people who are finding your page in their search results. Give them a reason to choose your site over your competitor's - a too-long, keyword stuffed title won't do that.

  • The amount of code (navigation, related item links, reviews, etc) that eBay adds to its pages should prevent this as well as being selective about how much you send.  For example, you could write a longer description as part of content on your page while uploading a truncated one to eBay. Mostly it's a a question of sales though. If your store numbers remain healthy while eBay adds to it, then that's the most important measurement.

  • Thank you. I will insist then. It is just a django thing, it gets a bit more complicated but we will do it like that. Thanks

  • Hello Alec, I would say that what EGOL said is right, you are battling against a strong encampment and can't expect to have a strong showing unless you are taking a unique approach. The key is to determine if the 1 month PPC results are good in your mind. Personally that kind of turn around looks very promising based on the numbers but only you would know based on your ROI. If you can justify it then run PPC for now while working on the endgame of the SEO and increasing your site visibility and visitor numbers. A good strategy that I have found is to do some market research and take your survey data and write some interesting articles that you can use as blog posts and maybe a press release. If you can read the data in unique ways then it is likely to be picked up by a wider user base.

  • Ah, the image you linked to showed the dashboard. Try going here instead: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/keywords?siteUrl=http://arowautorental.com And look for it in the report: Google Index: Content Keywords. Cheers!

  • I think that the blog has nice content. Many of the posts are competing for queries where there is very little search volume. Go to this page... http://www.naturalworldsafaris.com/blog.aspx?destination=india   read the titles of the posts.   Are people are searching for those topics? I think that the blog posts will get more traffic if their titles align with search volume or if their topics align with search volume.

  • This is mostly a factor of time since the 301 redirect was implemented yesterday. With any change that affects domain names you can expect to wait a while for propagation to complete (like how your hosting setup typically warns that it may be 24-48 when creating or modifying things like CNAMES). Your new site appears to be indexed in Google https://encrypted.google.com/search?q=site:modli.co so that's good and leelach.com is redirecting properly, also good!  Now it's just a matter of waiting for a bit. One thing you might consider as design elements would be the text one modli.co that says, "Formerly LeeLach.com" or something along those lines. Just so people know what to expect.  Cheers!

  • Nah, I don't believe its risky and wouldn't be considered bad practice. Just be sure to remove the noindex tag on each page.
