  • Hi Matt, You can get your app featured in the 'app carousel' if your device is in Google Play, but a knowledge graph box links to a website by its nature so I don't believe it's possible for it to link to an app instead.

  • Hi Joe, On one hand, DA and PA are metrics that are calculated primarily with the links that point to that page/domain. Take a look at these resources: Domain Authority & Page Authority Metrics - Whiteboard Friday What is Domain Authority? - Moz What is Page Authority? - Moz On the other hand, a certain PA/DA doesn't assure nothing in Google SERPs. A PA of 25 may or may not be a "low" PA. There are lots of cases that have fewer PA/DA than their competitors and have better rankings. In your case, I wouldn't worry much at all. Regarding the other matters: Domain change and 301 redirects. Yeap, it could affect some rankings, it was done too long ago to analyze its impact now. Links in OSE. Remember that Moz updates once a moth or so its link index and doesnt crawl the entire web, it may miss some of your links. My opinion: use other tools too (such as ahrefs.com, majestic.com or other). Words in descriptions. (Im asuming that you are referring to meta descriptions) There is no exact amout of words. Take a look at these resrouces: New Title & Description Lengths for Google SEO in Search Results - Moz Title Tag Length Guidelines: 2016 Edition - The SEMPOST Significant Change to SERPs: Google Extends Length of Titles and Descriptions - SEJ Hope I've helped. Best luck. GR.

  • Hello, Yes you are able to upload multiple sitemaps to your Google Search Console. Often sites that have thousands of pages will create multiple sitemaps to make it both easier for them to manage and search engines to crawl. Just make sure to keep them separate, what I mean by this is have one sitemap dedicated to your blog and blog only, same with your Magento site. Don't cross-reference pages into both. Hope this helps. Chris Hickman Adficient.com

  • Hi This is how I'm doing that: Check topics/base keywords that fit your website/company niche. Check top10 competitors with those topics and copy their websites. Use semrush.com (ahrefs.com, majestic.com too or similar to them showing traffic stats) to find the keywords each website ranks. Do the same with base keywords to find more of them. Make a sheet (or upload and combine) with them. Don't forget to leave search volume and keyword difficulty score. Sort by searches and difficulty. Pick what you think is good and adequate to your niche/company. Make another sheet (number of keywords can be hundreds but no worry about) Check in your serpmachine (any that can check positions for desired city/country) if you're already ranking for those selected keywords (probably not or way below top10). Combine serps, urls, searches, keyword difficulties into next sheet (or add columns to that second sheet created). Decide what to choose. Rest is about writing content, building links and so on... but you'll get nice keyword list with good searches per month you want right? Krzysztof

  • Thanks Martjin, the first site does use href lang tags but we want to lower the profile of that site in the USA and pass some link juice from it to the new USA website.

  • Hi Furtak, Could you please share your views on our post here about redirecting: https://moz.com/community/q/redirecting-homepage-to-2nd-tier-page Thnaks, Satish

  • This is the correct answer. To expand on this slightly, just make sure none of the 404s are internal (ie there are no links on your site pointing to one of these dodgy pages as a result of the hack) and you're all good. Remove the entries from your htaccess file to avoid having to parse them constantly and let any external links to dodgy pages 404. This sort of circumstance is exactly what 404s are made for! The only site at risk of a ranking drop from these 404s is the one pointing to those dodgy pages - who cares about your hackers' rankings?

  • I think that "2017 Diaries" has a bit of competition and this site is still getting started.  It probably has slowly rising traffic but needs some high-quality linkable, shareable, noteworthy content that people want to read.  The blog is focused on product promotion rather than something to inspire the customer to write, plan, schedule, etc.

  • Awesome, hope you're able to get this setup. Domain-wide duplication would be a tragedy!

  • Hi Muhammad, I agree with EGOL that links used to have a much higher value than they have today. But still, they are one of the key things one needs to take care of while doing the SEO. Though I am not a link building expert, I found a useful detailed piece over internet that you may find interesting. It talks about the link building tips and strategies. Check it out here I hope it helps:) Please do share your learning on link building if you find some good tips (Obviously other than this post ). Thanks,

  • Can we use some tool like Moz or Woorank etc. to check why one website is ranking over other website?

  • Unfortunately, this does sometimes happen when Google tries to establish what it feels is the best and more relevant description of the page thus overriding your meta description.. You may find it pulls from your opening paragraph or elsewhere. I would suggest looking to st re-indexing your changes - maybe resubmit your site via webmastertools (Google Search Console) )for a recrawl. Also and this may not be the case, but if you have a listinf on Yahoo or the OpenDirectory/DMoz, sometimes content can be pulled in from there to replace your descriptions.  Maybe look to add the following meta tag to remove this issue.

  • Hi Jazee, At the end of the day, this ultimately comes down to what you think is best for the company. I do agree with the other answers that building these out as two separate sites could be a better option. And I am going to add on a few more factors that I think you should consider before making this decision. Because the services are so different, you will be able to get target the website (think: backlink outreach) if the website is on one specific topic rather than focusing on multiple services. However, if these are on one website, you should be able to grow the domain authority more quickly because in theory you could have double the amount of backlinks (link from websites for each service) linking to the one domain.

  • That's it! No need to submit your sitemap to any other search engine.

  • Hello Cooper! I would say that domain age could really be impacting this, but that does seem a little unlikely to be the only reason why your website is performing poorly compared to this competitor. I recommend going through GSC to see if there are any messages or anything that indicates your website might have a penalty lingering somewhere. If you want to share the links to the websites I would be happy to take a deeper look into the problem.

  • Hello, can someone offer me some hint about this? Sorry to bump the thread, it is very important and it would be very appreciated! Thank you, Fab

  • Plugin is one thing. Second is if your website is prepared and meets best seo practices for every page, keyword you want to rank on. Plugin can help but won't do 100% for you.
