Merge 2 websites into one, using a non-existing, new domain.
Thanks Andy! I'm still a little confused on how I will be copying data over from Site A to Site C. Is it just a matter of creating an empty Wordpress shell with no template and copying the data from Site A to it? (And how is that usually done?) Then would I redirect all Site A's pages to Site C's pages, just with the URL changed? I.E www.SiteA.com/large-dogs redirect to www.SiteC.com/large-dogs I don't want all of Site B either, just about 10 pages from it, would I manually copy them over also, and how would that be done? Thanks

Stop Google indexing entire website based on search location
Hi Anthony, There's unfortunately no setting in Google Webmaster Tools for this. Your best bet is to use IP detection logic to either totally block (return an error status code and no content) or serve a simple "our content is not available in your country" error page to all requests from IP addresses in the UK. You can do this by building your own reference database or using a service - there's also some freeware). (FYI: anyone on a proxy network can get around this.) Google does use "locale-aware" crawling, including appearing to crawl from other countries than the US (most likely through a distributed computing network), and the UK is likely high on the priority list for that. Google should pick up on this over time and stop including your pages in search results. But it may not be immediate. Best, Mike

Query string parameters always bad for SEO?
No, I would make sure it's the best use case for you. Sometimes you can store this data in a cookie. But there are still great ways for just SEO that can help you with making sure that it won't hurt. Usually the best way is still having a canonical tag on the page that matches with the page that the content is originally from.

Problem with regional URL. From regional to international SEO. I need to change the URL
Thank you Andy, You gave me excellent suggestions. Yes, I'll focus on a URL that helps people understand what the business does. So you are suggesting that even if in the past they had a URL with the company name, it will not be a big deal to add a word to the company name, provided that it makes sense with what the business does. As a result, it's not necessary to change the content of the pages as the change is minimal. Best regards, Sara

An informational product page AND a shop page (for same brand)
My concern is that page 1 and page 2 are redundant. They are only redundant if they are filled with identical content. Content about brands can be sales information or information of many other types.. how to select amount their models, how to use, how to repair, accessories available, many, many other types of information - each different, each targeting a different searcher, each capable of stimulating conversion, each a candidate for producing links. Entire websites can be made from one brand, one product line, one model... potential customers, new buyers, long-time owners, service providers, journalists, and many other types of people love this type of website.

Change theme or domain first?
It would make more sense to transfer your site to the new domain first. Get that working correctly and ranking as it should and then you can focus on changing the design. Here is some good information from Google on how to achieve this. -Andy

Can anyone confirm they have predictable rating shifts based on the day of the week?
Hi Amy, Does the ranking shift coincide in some way with your hours of operation on affected days vs. the hours of operation of your competitors?

Same image file with different alt text?
I think this also has something to do with user experience as well as SEO. You want to provide quality content for both Google and more importantly your user. Does this image provide value to your user? If the image provides value to each of those "widgets" then you should use a different image on each page specific to "blue widgets", "red widgets", etc.. If the image isnt really needed for user value and your just using it fo SEO. I have used the same image on different pages WITH different file names with no problem before, like you sad "red_widgets.jpg" & "blue_widgets.jpg" can be the same file. An easy way to do this is to just duplicate and rename in FTP rather than saving new files in PS. So either way I wouldn't use the same image with different ALT tags. Its worth it to go the extra mile on this one.

Why does Bing bot crawl so aggressively?
Hi Thomas, I didn't tested this ever for my website but you can give this a try by mentioning in robots.txt file User-agent: bingbot Crawl-delay: 1 1 – Slow 5 – Very Slow 10 – Extremely Slow Thanks

Duplicate content when working with makes and models?
Number 2 certainly seems like it would be the best option! Thank you very much! I just need to figure out how I go implementing it now!
