Do I need to worry about these 404s after changing permalinks structure?
Hi Mark, Have you figured out if the URLs that are 404'ing are still mentioned somewhere. Either in the canonical tags or somewhere else or that something is wrong with the redirects? Martijn.

Domain Authority vs. Page Authority?
One cost effective benefit of using the root domain (no W's) is in setting up a MOZ campaign. If you set it up as a sub domain - www.sales.com - MOZ will track that version only. If you happen to have sub domains connected to that site - the performance of those keywords will not be tracked. Setting up your campaign with the root domain, sales.com -- auto.sales.com, homes.sales.com, insurance.sales.com, ad nauseam, will be all tracked within a single campaign slot.

Creating Content for over 50,000 Pages
You're very welcome! And yes, I just took at look through ESPN's Fantasy Football section of their website in hopes of finding some great examples. This link should be very helpful: http://games.espn.com/ffl/leaders? After heading over to that link (or any other page in the ESPN Fantasy Football section of the site that has players listed), go ahead and click on the individual players to see their little write-ups in both the initial "Overview" tab, as well as the "News" tab. While each has been hand-crafted, they _definitely _are "cookie cutter" and stick to only a handful of templates. (It's no wonder, since there are SO many players, and the information is changing constantly!) As a user, while I've picked up on the idea of their writing team using these templates, it hardly feels like a shortcut was taken, as the information is still useful, relevant, and custom enough. Be sure to let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Best, Zack AoHid mRkfE

Adding Location to Title Tags has dropped SEO Rankings
Hi! Can you give an example? The URL of the page, the old title tag, the new title tag, and the term in which you see the ranking drop.

So if I have a page that is also translated into Spanish how do I mark it for Google
Hi David, When using hreflang, you must always specify a language and a country. In your example hreflang="en" and hreflang="es" are not valid because they don't specify a country to go with the language. If you are targeting the US for both languages, you would need to use hreflang="en-us" and hreflang="es-us". Aleyda Solis has a great hreflang generator tool if you get stuck: http://www.aleydasolis.com/en/international-seo-tools/hreflang-tags-generator/ Cheers, David

How to write an optimal h1?
My pleasure! Glad you found it useful IMO the difference between them boils down to where their content appears. Title tags appear in the SERP's (search results) and in a browsers title bar while an H1 appears in the body of your webpage. That difference impacts how search engines and page visitors will analyze your page. That being said, search engines give more weight to Title Tags than Page Headers. Both should provide details about the overall message of your page, right, so the best way to optimize your Title Tags and Headers is to write for your audience. Of course follow best practices when creating each. Moz made this tool that helps with the Title (character/pixel) length. The page also offers other great info on titles as well. Hope that helps better answer your original question! If not please let me know how I can help further. Cheers!!

Schema Question
Hi Martjin, Thank you for your response, This is strange, I haven't tried this yet but I've used Google.nl and found competitors to the site in the example who are using the same setup with votes, but the only one I see that has both the ratings and the offers in their listing is using the regular reviews correctly (attached). I can't see what they're doing that is out of the ordinary - I'm currently using the exact same schema data, but the only difference being I'm using JSON for the whole setup while they're using microdata for the ratings and JSON for the offers. Can you spot anything on this example that's out of the ordinary? MYLjEzp.jpg

Move into new markets
Hi, With Generic top-level domains (gTLDs) such as .com Google use something called geotagging. In Google Search Console, you are able to select 'unlisted' within the international targeting option. This means that Google will determine what country the user is in and decide whether the site should be shown within this country. However, you would need to specify a language within the URL or the sitemap of the page. For example, if https://www.babyment.com was unlisted in Google Search Console and it was searched for in Malaysia, you would need to specify the country and the language so Google understands that this page can be used by the people in Malaysia. In my opinion, the best URL to have in this situation would be https://www.babyment.com/en/my which indicates 'en' the website is for English speaking and 'my' is the website is targeted for Malaysia. Alternatively you can specify the language and country of the page within the source code of the page using hreflang="en-my"

How to fix a 404?
Hey There!, Deleting a page of a site is always tricky, so I would always consider looking at other factors that may be causing this page to still show in Google results. Firstly I would check the sitemap. The sitemap is an easy way to tell Google what pages you want indexed. I would remove the page in question from the sitemap if you haven't already, then I would log into Google Search Console and upload the new one. This should provide Google with a fresh new sitemap without the 404 Page hopefully preventing the page being indexed. Another consideration when removing a page from the site, is to ensure there are no other sites still linking to that page, if Google can access your site from another page or another site, chances are it will index it. For this I would implement a 301 re-direct to redirect users(and bots) visiting that page to a relevant equivalent. Hope this helps! Thanks, Ian

Duplicate page content
I'm afraid we'd need a little more information to give a good answer. What is the problem exactly; what do you mean by "being flagged as 98% similar in the code"? The HTML source of the two pages is likely to be very similar, but this is to be expected. The only thing "triggering" the duplicate content is the fact that neither page has much in the way of unique text. I don't recommend stuffing lots of text in there, though, if it isn't going to be useful to the user. I think the more important point here, though, is to focus on the real world impact, and not on a score given by some page-similarity-scoring tool. What is the real-world impact? If you're worried just about the score given by a tool then don't be; there will be better places to focus your attention.

Listing and Linking Brands from Homepage
Thanks for your reply! Sorry, I should of been more clear that this is an e-Commerce website. I guess my only concern with linking 40 brands was if it looks spammy to do so. They have been placed there mainly for SEO however they also serve a use to customers to see what brands we do carry.

Where does Google get its meta descriptions from?
Thank you! Yes, we have a feeling the phone number came from a hidden code somewhere. We asked our client if their website was built by the same developer that built the site of the business where the phone number goes to. If this is the case, then that solves the mystery.
