Is having this sitemap worthwhile?
Hi Alice, If you start with the simple purpose of the sitemaps that you've stated above, (website crawling) you don't need to create** "Product A by brand B in Location C"** and **"Product A by brand B in Location D" **because the product was already indexed by Google. Will it look spammy? I don't know, it might. The question is, who ranks better your category/search results pages or product pages? Cornel

What should I put in the image ALT and title text for blogger?
Please help me on this: If on one post I use 'napsack' and 'backpack' And on another post I use 'napsack' and 'backpack' again, is that Keyword Stuffing? I can't really think of synonyms of the keyword I'm using because 'it is what it is'

Meta name and other data on home page
I recommend uploading the file providing by Google to your public_html folder of your site (assuming you use an Apache web server). I am a stickler for adding the minimum amount of code necessary to a website. This process works just as well without adding any code to your website.

Site Downtime - Will pages be reindexed?
I haven't had an experience yet where my pages didn't get re-indexed. It may take a few weeks to get back to where they were in the rankings but under normal circumstances after an extended downtime you likely won't have any problems.

The crawl diagnosis indicated that my domain www.mydomain.com is duplicate with www.mydomain.com/index.php. How can I correct this issue?
Please Look here http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=139394 You can specify a canonical URL in two ways: Add a rel="canonical" link to the section of the non-canonical version of each HTML page. To specify a canonical link to the page http://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish, create a element as follows: Copy this link into the section of all non-canonical versions of the page, such as http://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish&sort=price. If you publish content on both http://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish and https://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish, you can specify the canonical version of the page. Create the element: Add this link to the section of https://www.example.com/product.php?item=swedish-fish. Indicate the canonical version of a URL by responding with the Link rel="canonical" HTTP header. Addingrel="canonical" to the head section of a page is useful for HTML content, but it can't be used for PDFs and other file types indexed by Google Web Search. In these cases you can indicate a canonical URL by responding with the Link rel="canonical" HTTP header, like this (note that to use this option, you'll need to be able to configure your server):``` Link: <http: www.example.com="" downloads="" white-paper.pdf="">; rel="canonical"</http:> Google currently supports these link header elements for Web Search only.

How do I address "Critical Factors: Accessible to Engines"?
I'm not exactly sure about the SEOMoz error - but your site is doing a strange redirect when I load it up, going to this URL: http://www.grass2greens.com/Grass_to_Greens__Asheville_Edible_Landscaping.html It looks like you've setup a CNAME in your DNS settings to do that - which could potentially be confusing the SEOMoz crawler. Any reason in particular you set it up that way? Most people just set their homepage to be www.domain.com/ and have domain.com redirect to www.domain.com using an 301 redirect.

Blocking Google seeing outbound links?
The links are already cloaked 'Jump URLs', the way you described. But as I have found if you do that without the nofollow added to the link, Google indexes the cloaked url as it looks like it is part of the websites structure. If I just nofollow the link Google may not pass link juice through it but it must still count it as a outbound link, now not saying I have but if I had a page with 50 outbound links with only nofollow I believe this will still have a negative effect.

Page Title
Glad that helped, Aidan, but you also really need to get that code problem creating double title tags on all your pages fixed. The meta-title is one of the most significant on-page ranking factors and until you get rid of that second in your source code, the search engines will see a duplicate title for every page on your site (very bad for rankings), and the search results pages will continue to make up their own page titles rather than use the ones you've crafted. Let me know if you need more background. P.

Hi Dr. Pete. Thanks a lot for your additional expertise. I think I've got a pretty good understanding how to use canonicals and pagination with eachother. Thanks!

Can I place H1 tag anywhere on page
I've been developing in Magento for several years, and I can tell you without a doubt that it's better to keep the H1 tag wrapped around the actual product name on your product pages. This should be default on all pages except the home page, where the H1 is wrapped around the IMG ALT for the logo in the header. I prefer to move the H1 on the main page so that it wraps actual relevant text, but it requires a little bit of editing of the Magento core, and like everyone has said, heading hierarchy doesn't count for much in Google's algorithm these days. The best way to add specific keywords for product-level pages in Magento is via the Short Description, General Description, and the Product Tags. Tags are likely the most effective solution, as this functionality was designed for customers to make notes about products, so "White Business Shirt" would look natural there and make perfect sense. You might also try very minimal internal linking from your homepage if you have a specific product you're attempting to boost your SERP ranking for. Something like "Our best selling < a h r e f = product url >business shirt< / a >." To be honest, there's so many factors involved in correctly optimizing a Magento-based site, I'd recommend not wasting your time with H tags at all, especially masking and duplicating them. You'll be much better off if you concentrate on optimizing your category hierarchy, writing unique product descriptions, dealing with duplicate content, configuring robot instructions, decreasing load times, etc... Plenty to do... no need to mess w/ the H1 tag. Hope this helps & good luck! -Anthony

Image URL's have knocked my sub-pages down (WP)
So why can;t you put the images on the page, rather than have done it by using a gallery and linking to that? Nofollowing the links may help, but the quickest/best soloution until you find a permanenet one would be to simply undo what you did then go to webmaster tools and remove the urls form the index.

Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical
Hi Zmbmatt, Looks like you do have a Canonical URL tag on your page, likely from an SEO extension you're using. It's on line 12 of your index's HTML: href='http://pcpowerspeed.blogspot.com/' rel='canonical'/> It points to http://pcpowerspeed.blogspot.com**/ **(notice the trailing slash). The reason for this is that the version of the URL with the trailing slash and the version of the URL without the trailing slash are technically two distinct URLs, and this tag indicates to search engines that the preferred version is the URL with the trailing slash. This is a common usage of the canonical tag, and is appropriate. If you add a slash to the end of the target URL when you run the On-Page Optimization report, it should do away with the error. Hope this helps and good luck! Thanks, Anthony
