  • This is really to be expected. The authorship is in beta and their is no guarantee that google will use your picture or that you will be included in the beta. That being said, my best guess is that they do this so they can monitor click thru rate. Every site I manage has this problem, so I wouldn't fret.

  • Thanks for your reply. I have content I have written at the top of the list of posts that I want to claim authorship for. So there is no way to do this?

  • Hi Tom, Yes there is a UK Google places which we are on! We are using Wordpress and I've had a look at that H card plug in and it looks exactly what I need, thank you for the heads up! Will have a read of the getlisted site you mentioned, thank you! Ted

  • don't forget plural "florists" if your site is targeting just clearwater then it should be spread out across the site and not just on one page. These are too many variations to have on one page BTW. it would look like spamming and not good for readability.

  • Thanks everyone. This particular situation is for a local doctor's site who wants to target the Spanish speaking populace as well. In this case, I'll be doing what everyone recommended and putting it into a sub directory /es/. Thanks also to Matt for the additional info on the hreflang. I wouldn't have thought of or found that. Tom

  • Thanks for the great responses.  I'm certainly working on the content, and it looks like I need to start thinking more creatively about these phrases.

  • It makes them unique yes but you might want to add a little more. If search engines don't think your meta tags are a true representation of the page or if they are duplicated across the site then the search engine will choose whatever content it wants, and often this isn't a compelling introduction to the website. Private message me your URL if you like and I can have a look and see if there are any additional automation opportunities for your tags.

  • It depends on the purpose.  Remember the Golden rule of Google, is to think like a user.  So if you think your content is spammy, Google will probably think it's spammy. If you're listing words just for keyword purposes I would say yes, however if you're listing the cities you serve probably not.

  • Yes my friend, you should not use language translators for the purpose as these translators do a literal translation and mess up the grammar of the language. You can take help of a writer for the corresponding language and have the translation done. Please remember, bad spelling and grammar lead to bad user experience and search engines will not favor websites with bad spellings and grammar. Best regards, Devanur Rafi.

  • Hi David, That was one of the options we were considering and keeping the remaining 80% out of the index to ensure we wouldn't be penalised for DC because for I know for a fact in most cases if we use the content provided ny the manufacturer we will be stumped for DC, as every other Joe is using it. Thanks for your input.

  • I have seen this issue before and it turned out the tracking code had been accidentally placed on 2 different sites. Is there any possibility this could have happened? Can I also suggest you give people a bit of a warning that this site is adult in nature and definitely not safe for work! Andy

  • Probably a safe way to go - even with images comprised mainly of images I'd be surprised if you saw a negative impact from the footer blurb, but I've been surprised before. To clarify: yes it's a good idea to mention your target phrase a few times, outside of your Title and H1 tags, in as organic a manner as possible. However, the "keyword density" most people discuss is related to calculating some percentage, attempting to determine the "optimal" density of the keyword phrase related to other copy. This is the "waste of time" I was talking about - sorry for the lack of clarity there.

  • I guess I might try that. I was concerned 40-50 links on an internal page (very internal = No PR) would kill that page and any chance of the internal pages ranking.

  • Brice, Thanks for your reply...  This is where I get lost...  Most of what you said is like a foreign language to me.  Sorry... A few things that I can answer are: The Press Section is supposed to be just press photos. Is that a bad idea? The Client Section... I do need to finish the content part, but I am waiting on my clients which are being slow about it. lol Everything you said sounds awesome... I am so sorry that I don't understand most of it.    I wish I could afford to get you to fix it all for me.  You sound like you know your stuff. Do you have a website or email address? Becky

  • First, don't worry so much about how much content is on the page. You should format your pages based on what works best for what the searcher is looking for. If there is demand for information on Biomass Industry types and there is enough content for a page, then create a separate page. If there isn't enough content for one of these pages, and it makes sense for the user to land on the more general page, do that.

  • James, if you could give the URL of the category folder and an example of the pages ranking, I can have a look at it to see if something was wrong. Without that, it would be hard to take a call as this is not a standard issue.
