Hi Mozzers,
Is it worth the trouble spending the time to get a link from Wikipedia considering they're nofollow?
Hi Mozzers,
My client has a major competitor that dominates several industry head terms. A check of their link profile reveals that they have 50 low DA domains that are identical to the main site, the only difference being that they all link to the main domain for these terms.
They're not even attempting to disguise the network but it works. Can anyone tell me why?

Thanks for the advice. This was quite a while ago. I wound up going with domain/product-category/product
Works very well - every product I add gets indexed.
Hi Mozzers, I need a judgement. I've been approached by a deck building company whose business is local. They do have an existing web site, but almost no content or indexed content. Their visibility online is very close to zero.
They are also a seasonal business, with people getting interested in decks from April through June by which time they would be expecting a result. There is one very large competitor and many smaller ones.
This gives me 6 months, starting from very close to scratch.
Would you take it on?
Discussion and debate welcome.
Hi Mozzers,
I'm facing a tough link building challenge for a manufacturer's representative of technical controls and am struggling to find links beyond directories.
The site mainly consists of manufacturers products and creating original content is tough for me because of the technical nature of the business.
Any suggestions welcome.
Could be....although I was pretty careful about how I set it up. Google is indexing everything I post within half an hour.
Sorry, 6 mos. The site is about 200 pages and is almost completely indexed by Google to the point where they are indexing new pages shorty after I publish them.
I have a young site (6 most) that is almost completely indexed by Google but Bing and Yahoo will only index a few pages.
Does anyone have any tips for getting more pages indexed in Bing and Yahoo. The site is registered with Bing Webmaster tools and has a valid XML sitemmap.
I'm a big fan of the Genesis platform for Wordpress. The developers that Studiopress recommends on their site are all highly qualified and can do this for you. They can also produce a responsive theme if asked.
There is a huge difference between Wordpress themes and quality really counts.
Visitors is an SEO stat that your company can show to the client as proof of effort, but doesn't necessarily mean much in terms of the customer's business. Fewer highly targeted visitors can provide a better return than a large number of poorly targeted visitors. I'm working with a company now that had fairly high site traffic as a result of a PPC campaign, but almost none of these converted into customers. Their traffic is now about half of what it was, but consistently generates leads for them.
Yes, I've seen it with web pages but this is my first experience with PDF's. Anyone else seeing this?
Has anyone else noticed Google rewriting the title of PDF documents?
I agree with Joel. Don't panic. If you're scared because you think you'll be penalized for doing something spammy then don't do it.
You will succeed by providing valuable content to your prospective customers. This actually works.
I'm not using any trick or gimmick. Just Wordpress with the Yoast SEO plugin. Not that many links yet either. Just boring product pages. I did take the time to properly research and categorize the content.
Hi Tom,
Within 1 minute of publishing the post appears in a site:www.domain.com query and can also be searched on. Signed in or out does not seem to make a difference.
I've been working on a site for a while now, methodically building content and building trust and authority. Lately I've noticed that anything I publish there appears to be instantly indexed by Google, which surprises me.
I haven't had this happen before so I'm curious. I'd be interested to hear the experience of others.
On a Wordpress site I'm working on you can get to any product from home in 2 clicks but I'm a llittle concerned about the URL which looks like this: domain/categoryname/subcategoryname/productpage
Will I have trouble getting my products indexed?
Does anyone some suggestions for best practices when trying to rank categories using Wordpress?
Unless you filter it, a category provides a complete list of all posts in that category. I can add a good title and description but am not sure beyond that.
Has anyone tried using a sticky post in the category and putting keyword body text in that?
Lookin' for ideas.
