thanks, Paul.
I am testing the "Wordfence" plug-in, and I was able to identify (and delete) a malware file. I should probably look for a more secure host as well.

Hi,
thanks for sharing! I found the code in the Header and deleted everything, so hopefully that should take care of the "clean-up" process, so I can start on the "small matter" of regaining my ranking. I'm in 50th at the moment, so at least I'm indexed!
cheers
hi, thanks for the advice!
I will check Webmaster tools, and send a description of the issue. I´m sure you´re right regarding the penalty issue, I guess I just have to tighten security...
Hi,
I have a Wordpress site for which I was ranking #1 for my main key phrase. Then I noticed that my site had plummeted in ranking. Investigating I found the cause to be a hacking issue where my code has lots of content for and backlinks to Viagra sites! How do I best work on retrieving my ranking and making sure that the site in question gets penalized?
Hi Miriam, thanks for your response! To clarify, we're an online business in the sense that we sell software solutions, and that customers can communicate with us exclusively online, if so desired. However, every country office has in-person transactions at their location, and I'd like these offices to be listed in local. What I'm thinking is that each office could have its sub page on our web site (with all the local address details), and that these pages should be able to rank in local search....
hi,
I work for a company that has offices in several countries world wide. At the moment we only have one website. As we are an online business ranking in local search is not a huge issue. However, I'd like to know more about the probability of each office being listed globally in local without having a site representing each office.
Hi, that's correct. I want to redirect all sub pages from site A to site B as well.
Hi,
I am a working on a new web site, and I want to redirect all the urls of another site (on a different host) to this one. According to both hosts it is "impossible" to do this for all urls. I don't believe that to be the case, but how do I do this? And, should both sites be hosted on the same server first?
thanks! So far I have no better explanation than "size matters". I also have a small non-Wordpress site (well optimized) that took a hit in Bing, except for one key phrase on a sub page that jumped 48 places. Comparing this, to another "A grade" optimized sub page on the same site that slipped 48 places, the difference is that the one "going up " is a slightly competitive phrase and the one "going down" is a highly competitive one...
What is up with Bing? I have a couple of small, but well-optimized Wordpress sites that dropped from top 3 to outside of top 50 in ranking for a list of key phrases in Bing, whereas in Google the very same sites had a positive development for the same phrases. I also work with a rather large, but (at the moment) poorly optimized site, and this site went from outside of top 50 to top 3 for several reasonably competitive key phrases! This should teach me not to take a vacation, I guess...
Hi,
does there exist any good data on the correlation between the meta description and having the same text in the body text (as pre-ample in bold, for instance) and conversion rates?
Hi, I've created a Hubpage awhile back and I see the url has a page authority over 50. How much does Domain authority influence page authority? The url has only 3 (registered) backlinks, so I cannot see an obvious explanation why. I understand that Hubpages was one of the sites that "took a hit" with the Panda update, but it has a domain authority of 84...
hi, thanks. I'll see what I can do with no-index and canonical links. It seems to me that the number of these pages should impede the indexing of the whole domain....
hi,
this is an example of the type of urls that are "problematic" (if that helps):

Hi, there is a DMOZ listing so I could check that, thanks!
hi, I'd have to check with the client, but anyway it is in Norwegian so it would probably not help you much! But, the pages in question are not thin on content and are decisively on-topic.
hi, thanks but the search to test this was with using the same keywords used for the title-tag and in the meta description and on-site content, so I'm ruling out lack of relevancy here.
hi, thanks! The meta description is based on kw research and on page content so relevancy cannot be the issue. Probably they are not using meta-robots and they need to place the code you suggested...?
