As a general rule of thumb the more higher your content is placed in the page source, the more accessible it is for search engines. This ensure they correctly pull the right page info and meta data.

Taking a quick glance of your source code, I definantly think your externalise all JS in a single file to remove the amount of bloated code which currently exists.

Also two more things:

(1) Further optimise your page. More people would search for multi color function printer than a refurbished printer. Make sure you conduct keyword research for all product pages.

(2) Even though  this is not as important, none the less reduce the number of h2 & h3 heading tags you are using, particularly the links with the headings in the "supplies and accessories" section as it is not necessary.

The main benefit of RSS feeds is to keep users updated with your latest content should they not access your site directly.

From an SEO point, if you have activated the "pingback" feature, this will ensure that every site update will be notified to search engines & browser bots and specific blog/content submission sites. RSS feeds also provides additional internal links to a page hence providing more link juice and page authority. Make sure you don't have too many internal links on a page.

It is therefore important to be smart about RSS feed placement and making it compatible to access and read fpr all types of sites mentioned above.

This is why you'll notice people using Google's Feedburner, whereby you can  have more control optimising the meta data per RSS feedback and automatically connecting social media accounts i.e. twitter or digg for automating content promotion.

You can create multiple tabs for searched keywords and then compile them together in a final list (export in excel).

Also contains visual aiding tools and uses google keyword tool api for data results for any country.

I've used it in the past and its not bad actually.

My suggestion is that you be proactive with them as possible. Here are a few tips:

• First of all start by getting their media plan. That way you can align your SEO initiatives and plan ahead for content before going live.
• Creating the process - Make it clear to the client that before making  Media Release go live, that you would need to "tweak" it, to maximise search visibility. The most important thing would be to tweak some of the keywords used, the "about us" author section and link placement. Once you have optimised it, send it to both the client and PR team ready for syndication, unless the onus remains with you. Then ask the PR team to send you the sites which they have submitted the PR so that you can monitor the link status i.e whether or not it is live.

From my experience clients would love you if they know you are trying to maximise there branding initiatives online. Like I said its about creating the process that works with you and the PR agency,  Don't forget to request site inclusion in Google News for gaining additional traffic for your PR's

Since you are not using the "JavaScript" detection and redirection method but instead using the subfolder method, Google considers them as additional pages on the desktop version of the site.

One good reason for creating a mobile sitemap. - They will allow search engines to better serve search requests from mobile devices and lead them to your relevant mobile pages.

To improve the likelihood for search engine serving your mobile content on mobile search results it would also be recommended to include the specific mobile crawlers in your robots.txt file.

You also don't have a link of the mobile version of your site on the desktop site. It would be important to include this on your site header for the same reason above.

You need to do abit of research to create a solid list. (1) Search for "directory website lists" on google. Probably the best but most time consuming. (2) You can also have a go at this site - http://www.linkbuilderstoolkit.com/ however there will be a few expired sites since it hasnt been updated in a while. (3) Another way is to view your clients Google Webmaster Tools account and pull the external links pointing to the site. The SEOMoz tool can help you extract your most important keywords, however you might feel that it is not enough due to your keyword research methodology.

To help maximise your keyword research ask yourself the following questions (credit to distilled U

1) In one sentence, what is the core business of your website?

2) How does your business make money?

3) What products or services do you offer?

4) Describe your ideal customer or target market?

5) Are your services location specific?

6) Are there any specific graphic design terms for your product/services?

If you have been able to effectively answer these questions, along with doing some competitior analysis and topical research from blogs and social media platforms, in addition to using other keyword idea tools i.e. soovle, google trends suffice to say you would have conducted thorough keyword research and built a more stronger list, then simply relying on just SEOMoz tool.

By using the 301 redirect, you have negated the effect of the cannonical tag. You should only user the cannonical tag when you have difficulties using the 301 redirect.

That's why you are getting an error. Best to only stick with the 301.

Search engines will look at the timestaps to determine where the content has orginated. So best to start from scratch or use similar topics.

I would suggest you specifically look at competitive intelligence tools like compete.com or semrush as they can provide somewhat accurate estimates.

Here's a reference from SEM Rush on how they collect their data

"SEMrush analyzes keywords in the first 20 search results in Google. We now have over 100 million keywords and 71 million domains from the Google top 20. We use our Live Update algorithm to keep our 25 regional databases fresh."

There's nothing wrong. The wordpress SEO pack is actually doing the right thing to ensure search engines like Google see only one version (and the right version) of your website, this being with the www.  with the /.

If your site didn't do what you had mentioned above, search engines would have indexed (listed) what they thought was the right version. There are also other several disadvantages to this:

(1) The page rank (domain authority) would be split between the www and non www versions of the site. Some would go even further and say that it would cause site duplication, which is not favoured by search engines.

(2) People linking to your site would not link to one URL version. Again this would cause spreading the link juice.

Since there are the proper 301 redirects on your site, no matter which version people link to, it will go back to the www version with the /. Just make sure that in Bing and Google Webmaster tools you also change your preferred domain settings to the www version.

Diane, don't forget Google only shows you a sample of the links pointing to your site. This is why many people were so upset with the closure of Yahoo Site Explorer.

I would suggest looking at Opensite Explorer (OSE) or Majestic to understand your true link profile, then follow James's advice.

The most important thing to take out of this is doing link building consistently  and with phrase match keywords.

Hey Jonathon,

I wouldn't entirely rely on creating your customers site's using HTML 5 and CSS3, however start thinking of implementing rich media  i.e. flash, silverlight in HTML 5 to benefit from code bloating and improving the sites crawlability and indexation.

All browsers do render HTML 5 & CSS 3 however they have not become popular enough to become standards. I'm suspecting a move next year.

Hey Marissa, Try this http://www.seomoz.org/directories and this http://www.linkbuilderstoolkit.com/ . Removing all the dead and irrelevant sites I think you can get atleast 400 various sites. Should be a good start. In addition to OSE and Majestic (moreso for competitor backlinks), I would also suggest for you to: 1. Export linking domains list from your clients from their Google & Webmaster Tools Account. You would then need to filter it out. 2. Most importantly using advanced search queries and finding quality sites in search try http://tools.buzzstream.com/link-building-query-generator or citation labs ( a link scraper). I don't see the benefit of creating multiple accounts. They won't be penalised but the likeliehood of having atleast one of them appear in search, when searching your brand will dramatically reduce.

Think about consolidating your efforts.
