Ranking report in Pro Campaign Not Accurate?
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out to us! I am sorry you are seeing some discrepancies in your rankings I can definitely understand if there are some frustrations if you are not seeing the rankings you were expecting. While I can't speak for the SEO reasons why you are seeing that (Novice SEO here). I can definitely say that when I search for the terms "ceiling mounted air conditioning unit" & "Portable air con units" in Google.co.uk (using clean browser w/ no cookies, in private browsing mode). I was not able to find the site www.airconco.com in the top 50 on my end http://screencast.com/t/Oc0mSGwu for "ceiling mounted air conditioning unit" but I was able to find rankings (12th) for "portable air con units" The way our tool cuts the bias within search results is by collecting the SERPs using a series of IP representing different locales and serve up what Roger thinks is the most "Un-biased." So while your site can rank #1 for weeks in a row, it is not unusual to see it disappear for a short period of time, although the rise of blood pressure can certainly be there (we're sorry for that!). In the meantime, you are certainly welcome to use Rank Tracker to check your rankings daily if you prefer, I have put in a few on your keywords which you should be able to check out at: http://ranktracker.moz.com/ I hope that helps! If you are continuing to see the same thing happening you should definitely send us an email at help@moz.com so we can get you escalated to the devs if we need to. Best, Peter Moz Help Team.

Google Places... Please help I'm going crazy!
Hi Richard, Unfortunately, the Google Places stats cannot be relied upon. They have never been accurate. There was a big shakeup in March in which tons of businesses saw a big drop, and right now, with the migration to the new Places for Business dashboard, it's likely that further inaccuracies are occurring. So, while you can take a look at the data for some idea of your impressions, you can't really trust what it reports. Here is a thread that on this topic from the Google and Your Business Forum that you might find reassuring, inasmuch as you can see that you are not alone: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/business/qn0rL72CDgA Obviously, any business owner needs to make sure that their listing is in compliance with the Google Places Quality Guidelines and that there are no issues going on with duplicate listings, but in general, G Place Analytics simply aren't accurate. Regarding photos - with the old Google Places Dashboard, image updates can take up to 6 weeks to appear. With the new dashboard, they are supposed to go live in a matter of hours or days. So, this should improve.

Best Way to Promote Self Hosted Videos?
Thanks for your answer and useful tips. Totally agree with your point about seeing the content. However, we really want to keep it under wraps until the launch. The vast majority of the videos are very funny in the context of the website and not necessarily as amazing as a stand alone YouTube video. After some consideration and further research we are going self hosted. I think that going for a slow burning approach will benefit our site more, hopefully bringing in social/links over a period of time. Any viral instances would be a bonus! Thanks again. Richard

Google search not grouping keywords properly
I am actually not sure of the answer to this question. Typically if the algorithm has detected a pattern like that, it's for a reason. The only thing I can recommend is to build a page to satisfy both intents. Have an air conditioning service page that speaks to people wanting air conditioning and those looking for repair. Then have a child page for repair that you can link to with more information on that aspect.

Why is this site not being punished!?
We have someone with a shady link profile ranking above us too. Don't worry; as was already said, it's only a matter of time before they're gone. Just keep working on your long-term #RCS strategies, and they will pay off in the long run--probably sooner rather than later.

Is traffic useful without links?
I had a big laugh with your May 2011 entry. These are definately shareable/viral, especially in the hvac community (hvac-talk.com and other forums). You really do need to add share buttons all over the page. Being a local air conditioner service business, I can sympathize with how dull our content can be. I too get traffic from all over but few links or shares. You should be miles ahead because of your humor (my posts tend to be pedantic). I wouldn't mind sending a link your way in a future blog post.

Should this site be punished?
Yes they "should" be punished. But they probably won't, at least not for a long time. To Google's own detriment they don't act on spam reports nearly enough, which results in spam working more than it should, which results in more spam... and frustrated competition who were playing fair deciding "If you can't beat them, join them". The all the combined intelligence over at Google you'd think they'd figure out that for long term benefits it's best to act on the spam reports instead of just gathering data from them.
