Another option I am thinking is to include this section in an iFrame, since I know iFrames are not read by search engines.

What do you think about that solution?

The text would be hidden/displayed via javascript, so it would not really affect the user's experience in a negative way.

Hi Mozzers,

We want to incorporate a 'Dictionary' of terms onto quite a few pages on our site, similar to an FAQ system.

The 'Dictionary' has 285 terms in it, with about 1 sentence of content for each one (approximately 5,000 words total).

The content is unique to our site and not keyword stuffed, but I am unsure what Google will think about us having all this shared content on these pages.

I have a few ideas about how we can build this, but my higher-ups really want the entire dictionary on every page.  Thoughts?

We experienced a huge dip in traffic on Thursday, 8/14, across our entire site.  It was not a specific set of pages, it was sitewide.  Google Webmaster Tools notes our impressions are down as well.  The traffic has not recovered.  It appears our pages are still indexed in Google, just not ranking well.

Here are some questions I have to help isolate the cause:

1. We recently completed a major redesign of our entire website on 7/26.  We did not notice any dip in traffic after the new design launch - in fact, it actually increased a bit. Is it possible that only now Google sees our new site design and this is the reason for our dip?  Is there a way to see Google's past cache dates?
2. Did anyone else experience a similar dip in traffic since Thursday?
3. Was there a recent Google update?

It would be much appreciated if someone takes a look at our site - www.consumerbase.com for any glaring SEO errors (missing necessary meta tags, etc.).

What steps do you guys suggest I take to isolate the cause in this dip in traffic?

Is OpenSiteExplorer showing those new links you acquired?  If OSE hasn't detected the links yet, they won't affect your DA.

If yes, check to see if you lost links from other sites and had a net loss, thus the drop in DA.

It looks like you have 720 internal links on that page.

Google recommends to keep it at 100 max per page.

All the anchor texts are pretty much our brand name or our website domain.  No specific keywords.  That should keep us safe, right? Thanks for your help!

Hmm interesting.  If Google or the NYT wanted to post an article you wrote on their home page with a link to your site,  would you say no and put it on your 5k visitor/month site instead?

The exposure is worthwhile if no one will be able to find the content on your own site anyway.

I'm going through my link profile and I noticed I have a few links that are from <10 DA sites.  One has a DA of 6.  Should I remove these?

Aside from any referral traffic I receive from these links (I know there is none), are these links hurting me?
What should I look out for in a site I may guest post on?

Personally I have noticed this not only reinforces the site structure, but helps more pages of my site get crawled because it makes it easier for Google's spiders to navigate my site.

Thanks for the response.  Is there a particular number of words per page or tex-to-code ratio I should strive for?

I'm working on getting a large e-commerce website indexed and I am having a lot of trouble.
The site is www.consumerbase.com.

We have about 130,000 pages and only 25,000 are getting indexed.

I use multiple sitemaps so I can tell which product pages are indexed, and we need our "Mailing List" pages the most - http://www.consumerbase.com/mailing-lists/cigar-smoking-enthusiasts-mailing-list.html

I submitted a sitemap a few weeks ago of a particular type of product page and about 40k/43k of the pages were indexed - GREAT!  A week ago Google de-indexed almost all of those new pages.  Check out this image, it kind of boggles my mind and makes me sad.  http://screencast.com/t/GivYGYRrOV

While these pages were indexed, we immediately received a ton of traffic to them - making me think Google liked them.

I think our breadcrumbs, site structure, and "customers who viewed this product also viewed" links would make the site extremely crawl-able.

What gives?
Does it come down to our site not having enough Domain Authority?
My client really needs an answer about how we are going to get these pages indexed.

I too work with an ecommerce site.
It's tough.

Site structure is key.  Breadcrumbs will be your best friend in getting link juice deep into your site.
Once the structure is good, focus on getting links to your home page and a sprinkling down into your product pages.

Found it!  It was on the PRO Campaigns page and missing on the Analytics Campaigns Page - note to Moz.

For the life of me I can't find out how to un-archive a campaign.

I un-archived a campaign in the past and remember it being in a hidden spot, but I have a feeling this button is just missing with the new switch to Moz Analytics.

I agree with Schwaab that there was something wrong with the previous update (or it was just run differently).

All my competitors and I dropped in DA after the previous update, but after the most recent update it seems to have fixed itself (3 points down, then 3 points back up).

Unfortunately there is no way to view historical data for Page Authority, perhaps this is something Moz will consider for the future (maybe the top 10 or 20 pages per site according to PA?)

No, the word "By" is not needed.  I have often Google+ linked just through their name - "Christopher Glaeser is the head writer at Freelap"
