Adding Domain Names
I would have them under one domain, pref something that is branded and not specific to any of your services... Lets call it "www.totalservices.co.uk" (probably taken I know...) I would then structure the main pages like this: **www.totalservices.co.uk/driveways ** **www.totalservices.co.uk/driveway-cleaning ** **www.totalservices.co.uk/patios ** www.totalservices.co.uk/artificial-grass (etc etc) As the guys have already mentioned, any links you earn or build to your site will count towards your domain authority... Also link juice will flow through your site "helping" you rank. By splitting the sites into 3 you are going to be increasing your work load by 3. Plus by having a branded domain name you will likely get a higher click through rate from the google search results - keyword heavy domains look spammy and "typically" are trusted far less IME. Hope that helps... Keith

Problem with ranking data
John, I will endeavor to assist, but it would be easier with a domain and at least one kw. If, you are on your computer and looking at the ranking via doing a search on a given term, you must be sure that you are doing a non personalized search. Otherwise, the cookies on your computer will cause the pages to show differently than they would to a "first time" searcher for that term. There are two ways to check: Using mozbar, you should see SERP control panel in upper right corner. It should show Google (non personalized). I use chrome and see it. If you have that, after doing initial query for keywordX, then click on Google (non personalized). That should change the SERP page. See where you are then. Otherwise, after your search term insert $pws=0 like this: keywordX &pws=0 That should give you a valid search on the term. LMK if that helps or if you can share more data. Robert

Help with local Seo?
Hi John, I can tell you have actually already done quite a lot in order to make sure your site ranks well. I won't repeat what others have stated before me, but just wanted to mention a couple of things that might help a little... and as we know, every little helps Use a structured format for your address Schema.org, or other microformat. Structure your URLs in such a way that the location is mentioned within the URL (make it easy for Google to crawl and for your customers to navigate). You might have to rethink the site architecture a little. Create content that is optimised both for keyword and location (separate pages for every combination) > Local Landing Pages! The above will also allow you to have optimised Title and Description tags. Try to obtain Reviews that actually mention the keyword of the service your are trying to rank higher for. Hope any of the above helps? Cheers Greg

Why is my traffic data not showing any scores at all?
Hi John, Sorry about the issue with your traffic. Since this is more of a Help question, I am going to migrate this over to our ZenDesk ticket system and answer you there. You should receive an email that you can use to access the help ticket right away. The Q&A forum is usually reserved for SEO questions, not questions about trouble shooting our software. That's what the Help Team is here for! :] Thanks, Chiaryn

How often does site explorer update.
Hi John! OSE usually updates once a month. The last update was February 27th, and we've had a delay in releasing the next update (it'll be about a month late). For some detailed information about the updates and this delay, please read the blog post at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/linkscape-index-delay-explained

Help for a complete SEO newbie!
Hi John, You've gotten some good responses from members here. I have a few suggestions to add. Remember that citations are extremely important in local campaigns. Citations are not necessarily links. They are simply indexed mentions of your company's name, address and phone numbers. These might included directory listings, mentions of you in local news, on blogs, review sites or what have you. If citation building is new to you, I recommend reading Miles' Anderson's list of top 50 citation sources for the UK and USA: http://searchengineland.com/top-50-citation-sources-for-uk-us-local-businesses-104938 Also, I understand your concerns that your readers may not read all of your content. That's always the case, but remember that every page on your site is potential entry page to your website. Even if someone coming to a page about 'driveways in gateshead' does no more that glance at the title and look for a phone number, at least they've come to you because you've got a page that exactly matches what they were searching for. Copywriting is critical to nearly all local marketing campaigns. Finally, as you mention you are new to SEO, and I'm inferring from that that you are also new to Local SEO. Is your site well-optimized for local search with strong local hooks in place? And, have you created and claimed a complete, violation-free Google Place page for the business? Be sure you are compliant with the guidelines. And don't forget about reviews. They count, too. Hope these thoughts help!
