      Hi all,

I am pretty new to SEO but i wanted to check out an idea with you guys,

I have a business that is called Totaldriveways and the URL is www.totaldrivewaysne.co.uk

Although Driveways is a big part of what we do, we are also heavily involved in other services to do with landscaping.

The idea ive got is to brand each service with the "Total"

for eample Total Driveways is a reconisgened name in my area and i would like to expand that into

      1. Total Patios

      2. Total Artificial Grass

      3. Total Driveway cleaning

so each page and service come under a similar brand, my question is

is it worth buying these domains also and directing them at the specific pages that they are relevant to, these domains are obviously keyword rich and am guessing will create extra traffic, but will i be penalised at all by google etc.

I know this is probably simple stuff to alot of you's but i have no idea

      Thanks

      John

Its better to have it inside the same domain www.totaldrivewaysne.co.uk/Patios/  that way any seo work can be applied to the domain authority otherwise you are doing 3x the seo work.

IMO it's best to keep it all under one roof. I would use one brand name and build pages for each of your services. This way you can brand one company and be known for everything you do.

Google will not penalize you for building three domains targeting three different terms however you are spreading your content onto three sites rather then one (IMO you are punishing yourself).

I would have them under one domain, pref something that is branded and not specific to any of your services...

Lets call it "www.totalservices.co.uk" (probably taken I know...)

I would then structure the main pages like this:

            www.totalservices.co.uk/artificial-grass

            (etc etc)

As the guys have already mentioned, any links you earn or build to your site will count towards your domain authority... Also link juice will flow through your site "helping" you rank.

By splitting the sites into 3 you are going to be increasing your work load by 3.

Plus by having a branded domain name you will likely get a higher click through rate from the google search results - keyword heavy domains look spammy and "typically" are trusted far less IME.

            Hope that helps...

            Keith
