Right, as was said a little earlier in this thread, "quality over quantity". Getting a write up in a local paper or being listed on the directory of a local township site are all great signals that you're legitimate and doing the thing you say you do. Don't ignore advertising either. Right. It'd just be things like spammy links, paid links, the usual things that could get a site in trouble. Doesn't sound like you'll be doing any of that.  Plus it seems like a good way for local people to get involved.  Cheers!

Hey Thanks, that's a weight off my mind, some of my pages only have the word "Sussex" in the copy once or twice I was just trying to see why the other site has such an edge over mine and wondered if ti could be down to that. Thanks for your insight Ben

Hi, That should be enough to stop the search engines crawling and indexing the test site. Remember to take it off when you go live though.
