Yes this is correct, the 301 redirect will forward all juice to the new structure and Google will find this change pretty fast.

If you have a sitemap you could also submit that map to google through webmaster tools, that would update the index faster. Good luck!

This is a very good thought and I can understand your concern. I would say that quality content is still important, but the aproach in this particular case could be distribution. Let's say you build you site with awsome video and sweet pics (funny ones) and then writing conten for other channels, PR, News, guest blogging and linking to the domain.

That would keep you site cleaner but still pointing quality content to your site. For the customer this is the best.

Raventools.com will crawl you site and pick out the words that repetedly occur on your site and then the rankings for those. Thats pretty close to knowing the rank i'd say.

Semrush does the same for adwords as that might show witch words they ar trying to rank for.

But like I said, I would'nt do that since it might not be the words you really want to rank for.

You should'nt choose, a facebook page widget, g+ and twitter follow button can be nicely put in a custom box for example. Sharing buttons on all pages is a great way to show google your "social rank" there are indicators that the google algorithm is using social shares to rank results.

With the new google update they even read facebook comment widget.

You can, but I would'nt recommend you do that. You should find out witch keywords konverts on YOUR site and that analyse that data in google keyword tool to find out witch keywords have the most searches.

It seems like your hompage is accesable through http://www.mrgrabbar.com/default.asp and http://www.mrgrabbar.com if you want to have both you should use the rel="canonical" href="your root domain" /> for the /default.asp page

If you dont want the /default.asp you could just 301 redirect /defaukt.asp to mrgrabbar.com/

If you are using a CMS like wordpress, joomla, drupal and such often the "frontpage" is another page redirected, that can sometime be an issue. For those times canonical or proper 301 redirect will solve that issue.

There can also be a www. vs. http:// issue. that would be solved with a short code snippet.

Sounds like shady shares to me,  would'nt surprice me if there is a company that provides that sort of service. Some kind of affiliate thing where you get paid to click the share button on sites all day. Althougt a Google search for "buy facebook shares" gives me results of "how to buy facebook stock"

I'v had real time for a couple of weeks now, its fun to follow instant and see how the user navigates througt your site but more then that??... I cant see it.

I haven't seen any drops in google organic yet and I still get data for all my keywords, I wonder how this will turn out.

Good resonse James. Social is a good indicator for Google and I would tink that this factor will have greater impact over the next years to come. Like, tweet and +1 is a must. Stumbleupon is pretty big in the states and follow aswell.

I see what you are thinking but take it as an investment, if you calculate witch keywords convert you will be able to rank for them. SEO takes time and why put a lot of work into ranking for bad keywords?
And if the keywords dont convert you could look into that and change the page so that you do convert.

SEO is just wasted time if you dont convert! Site structure, navigation and user experience should come first. Adwords is great for finding you and then position spesific pages to rank.

Hi, since your pages are indexed by Google you say I can only think of the rel="nosnippet" tag. Canonical could pass on the juice but PR 0 sounds strange.
