Multiple products with legitimate duplicate descriptions
Many thanks Alex, already on all of the points mentioned above but always nice to get some validation for plans of action... half the time that's more satisfying than coming up with them!

Is all duplication of HTML title content bad?
I would say that for the latter part of the Title it is better to have the actual name of the company than "Commercial Estate Agents" on every page. Apart from that is on the home page where the format could be "Name of company | Commercial Estate Agents". That way you are reinforcing the company name/brand which is reasonable whereas I think repeating "Commercial Estate Agents" is a little spammy and IMHO you don't need to keep using it as the clear message of the site and the pages it has should give the understanding that the site if for a commercial estate agent. On your other question, I would say: Birmingham Commercial Property Tips | Company Name is better than Birmingham Commercial Property Tips | Help find the perfect premise The latter says what the page is about, presumably "commercial property tips", but the second part is just extra words that I assume are saying the same thing, apart from the first part is more focussed on Birmingham. That's not to say you couldn't use the latter in the page Description tag which could read something like "Company Name will help you find the perfect commercial premises in Birmingham". At the start of the the page itself I would also say something similar. Peter

Page Rank vs Page and Domain Authority - who wins?
Page rank seems to be fading out am I safe to stay with PA and DA metrics instead? You should be for now but look across multiple metrics as leaning on one too much can give you false ideas. Worse case you can always use your Serp pos. but PA & DA are always a safe bet. I don't agree with link building tactics and feel that it should more a networking activity to provide USEFUL links to users... am I being too white hat and missing opporunities? Sounds great to me and good for a long term SEO tactic you may miss out short term but in long term which is always nicer your safe. If it benefits the user I recommend it! The other company have promised long list of links including 100 SEO friendly web directory listings, - can any one say Penguin 2.1? 200 PR 8 back links from Pinterest (which i thought was no follow) Pintrest links are follow & 10 long lasting and high quality mini web sites (with three pages/posts, video and pictures). Am I right that this all sounds a little spammy or is this really what I should be doing for me clients? It is a little spammy but unfortunately it can work but it would work short term and only be a quick fix. I wouldn't recommend this as a service Your tactics sound fine to me keep it white hat and keep on the ball whilst spamming micro sites and directories seem great Google is always trying to stamp this kind of manipulation out and rather then fight Google why not go with it? create some content users want to naturally share and talk about etc. It's a longer benefit for everyone to have great content on your site that makes people want to go to your site rather than cheat them onto your site where at the end of the day may just result in a bounce. Of course your welcome to look into it more and that's all opinion but content is king for most SEO practices Thanks & good luck.

How bad are poor link profiles for a website?
Many thanks, that is what I have been trying to explain to the client but they really are concerned about the penalty even though I can not see any evidence of it. I am in the process of sorting out the their blog and a useful guide area so this will really help my argument.

Footer links vs Homepage Content
This does indeed seem like an excellent solution that we can use for the featured item on the homepage. Thank you I do, however, have this pending sense of doom that I am not going to be able to convince the client. I suspect that they want it permanently visible on the homepage if not in the footer. These links are fundamental to the current site goals will I get penalised if they are added to the footer? If so then it will definitely help persuading the client. Thanks again for your help

Is a New Visits ratio of 39% a really bad thing?
Many thanks! I have tried with custom segments in the past but got confused and gave up. In doing this it has helped me clarify how I evaluate the data. My keyword ranking have dropped and it is the perfect incentive to give them a kick up the behind to right some new content! I will also talk to them about a link building budget as currently their investment is far too low for a site of this size. Thanks again for your help very much appreciated.

Queries vs Keywords
It really is bizarre, the number of unique keywords or queries is as follows: Google Webmaster Queries (in webmaster) - 77 Google Webmaster Queries resulting in clicks (in analytics) - 18 (406 in total) Keyword clicks to the site (in analytics) - 125 There must be something I'm missing!

Crawl Report Warnings
Thanks for your help. A lot of the pages that are showing up with these errors relate to search results or to the submission of a contact form so it's not about attracting traffic more making sure nothing detracts from the site as a whole.

Google Love and Bing Hate
What I have learnt from my personal experience that Bing is not as smart as Google in locating unnatural link patterns, spammy practices, heavily keywords specific pages and other sneaky things that some webmasters still do to increase the ranking of their website in search engines. Now, as Google is getting smart at their algo, you may less likely to find spammy sites that often in Google as compared to Bing and probably for this reason, your website is on 4th page. However, I am not saying that all the first pages websites in Bing are spammy. Just a thought J

Googles 'freshness' update and how it may affect Estate Agents.
If you are putting out regular updates it will be better for your business, freshness is targeting websites which have new news content which is been updated on a good basis. Work your blog strategy to publish great content on a daily if not weekly basis.

Do you run Facebook pages for your clients?
Thank you so much for your reply. Our clients are providers of serviced apartments so they want to use their social media sites to advertise available apartments etc as well as to interact with their followers etc. This is something we can easily do however, i'm just unsure as to how much time to we should be putting aside for this and how to come up with a plan of action. Does that make sense?! Sorry if this sounds vague, I'm relatively new to SEO and I find discussing these topics with more knowledgeable people than myself helps me to understand how to go forward. Thank you!

The best SEO practice for a .hk domain
With the .hk top level domain you'll have enough of an indicator to get localized boost so you could continue to maintain hosting in a different location. A few things to check in to: 1. Localized load times. Do HK customers experience slow or speedy load times of the site? 2. Customer privacy. Is the hosting in a country that matches up well with HK (or UK) laws on privacy? 3. Localized conversion rates. Does having a site with the HK extension help or hinder conversions? Most of the other best practices when it comes to domains are going to be pretty universal and similar to what you've done with your others I'm guessing.

Combining web pages and it's affects on SEO?
If these pages have inbound links pointing to them, then combining this may give it a little kick up the rankings. Think to yourself why you'd want to include these pages under only one page. Are they not strong enough on their own? Do they have very little content etc. If so, then it would be an idea to combine them, and the others should be 301 directed (which will preserve 90-99% link juice) - Source: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/About This will also mean that you have created pages with 3x as much content on them, which will stand up to higher competition and attract more long tail searches if done well.
