As far as I understand your question, I would recommend automatically redirect these pages to those that still have related products in stock. Keep in mind, this is just one of possible solutions.

RE: White Paper - Should I post to mysite before I put it on PRWEB?
1. Create an article.
2. Rewrite it manually 2-3 times.
3. Spin it manually, so you would have 9 versions of the same article.
4. Put the original article on your website.
5. Manually submit the other 8 copies to different sites with links back to your website.

RE: Great UX/Cloaking Concerns?
Kenji, you'd better spend your time on improving your own website and asking yourself a question: "What else I can do for my visitors, how can I improve their impression of my site?", instead of chasing your competitors.
Just my 2 cents. That would be a better time investment.

RE: Are Directories Good Links?
I still tend to believe the thesis that the more different your link profile, the better. Social signals, directories, guest blog posts, random blog comments, some bookmarks, some profiles, web 2.0 posts, articles, links from high authority sites - everything counts.

RE: Are Directories Good Links?
Yes, both website directories and business listing directories are good links. Just watch for the following when you build links like that:
- the quality of the neighbourhood (links to viagra, casino, porn sites)
- the Domain Authority of the directory
- are the links dofollow or nofollow
If the directory doesn't provide a link back to your site but only your physical address, that is still good, because with the introduction of schema.org and HTML5 tags showing the search engines what is the address and what is the brand name of the company; sooner or later Google will be precisely identifying your business address and your Google Places listing will benefit from it.

RE: Duplicate content due to "Email a Friend" and "PhotoGallery"
if possible, disallow the pages that cause problems in your robots.txt.

RE: Redirected old domain to new, how long before seeing the external links under the new domain?
As far as I know OSE takes some long time to show you the backlinks. I would rely more on the stats in Google Webmaster (Links to your site.). There, links are being updated like once every 3 days, but all depends on the Google Bot crawl rate. So don't worry, keep doing what you are doing, and check Google Webmaster periodically.

RE: IP addresses indexed?
Can't they change it to a human-friendly form? I don't think it's beneficial for SEO. Google strives for being human-friendly. Your client should move into the same direction.

RE: Where to find specialized directories
Google:
Science "web directory edited by humans" "submit link"

RE: Is rel=canonical used only for duplicate content
Don't be afraid, rather go ahead, experiment and learn.
Yes, I think it can be used that way.

RE: Duplicate content, how to solve?
The more pages you have on your website - the better. For every page you want unique title and text/images on page. Create custom description for every product you have on the site. It's up to you how to do it. Also, add Customer Reviews block on product pages.

RE: Robots.txt not working?
1. Have you tried it without product_compare?
2. Bad CMS?

RE: SEOMoz Crawl Warnings, do they really hurt rankings?
Meta descriptions do affect ranking. I tested.

RE: SEOMoz Crawl Warnings, do they really hurt rankings?
Matt Cutts himself mentioned in one of his videos that your website's accessibility to Google bot is one of the major things. You want 0 crawl errors and as many pages in Google index as possible.

RE: Do NOFOLLOW backlinks have ANY value? or did I waste money?
You didn't waste your money. A link is a link.
Check your competitors using SEOmoz tools. What is their ratio of nofollows/dofollows.
To me it seems that if you had 60:40 that is awesome.
To those who claim you wasted your money - don't you guys remember that nofollow isn't the same as noindex? Every link you have is counted.

RE: Low Traffic, All Branded Keywords
Create link-baits on new web pages. Share/tweet/engage in Social Media. Search for ways to give her clients' additional value. Make new connections. Add her website to professional networks. Participate on gift basket forums. Participate on local forums. Announce new events there. Let her host a gift basket event. Start a YouTube channel and shoot 20 educational videos about gift baskets. Continue to create business listings. Use StumbleUpon. Check if her internal pages are optimized to A level. Cross-link the pages. Become the big fish in a small pond.

RE: Slow page load times from asynchronous javascript
I would check the loading times in Google Webmaster.
Then I would go to some websites that measure loading times and compare your webiste's speed with the speeds of your competitors. If your is significantly slower, I would worry.
Try to combine several js into one.
Try to substitute social media buttons with some other ones.

RE: Tags causing Duplicate page content?
I use 2-3 tags. You can get without them at all - this don't prevent me to get high rankings.
-
RE: Scoop it is anyone using this social networking site to generate traffic
Sites like that can benefit you in 2 ways.
1. Just as another link back to your website.
2. As a piece of content valuable for the community.
The 2nd option is more preferable. Write something that has value to the audience of that website and link back to your website, if your site is related. You put yourself in the same ecosystem, and have a high chance to increase the conversions.
