Is this site legit?
Yeah I have added a site to my profile. By legit I meant is this kosher or are they being scummy? : ) But you've answered my question, thank you!

Trackback/Syndication
If you are using Wordpress, there is also a plugin called RSS Footers which allows you to put your link at the bottom of all your syndicated posts, so even if they are scraped they will link back to you.

Adding Google + to SEOmoz
Right, Just imagine all online marketers having a quick link up method. Im sure if everyone had a link back to their social network below each post there would be much more networking going on.

Using LinkedIn for Facebook likes?
If you're marketing to marketers, then it is a bit of a different story in that they may actually be interested in your content. I guess it depends on how valuable you find your other interactions with the group. A lot of LinkedIn is about self-promotion, but I often question just who, if anyone, is listening, especially in groups.

Thumbs Up! Yay! Thumbs Down! Why?
Maybe have a check list of reasons that caused the thums down.. After a Thumbs Down maybe a small drop down comes out as follows: Why thumbs down was it: Spam Wrong Insulting Grudge Im just an Ass After a Thumbs Up maybe a small drop down comes out as follows: I like itI agreeThank you soo much!I like kissing Ass Just because other sites don't do something specific does not mean we can or cannot implement new tech into our sites. Thats what makes a site unique right?

Taking out a .html plugin
After removing the plugin, you should configure a 301 redirect sitewide to strip out the .html and redirect to the version without the file extension. This way, both internal and external links won't lead to error pages, and you won't lose any link juice. You'll also want to make sure your canonical tags are configured to link to the non .html version of each page, if they're hand coded.

Best Link Building Practices to Avoid Over Optimizing
It really boils down to linking what makes sense. Do not write trying to get exact match anchor. Also keep an eye on your % of anchor text. If you have 20% of your followed backlinks be a specific head term, that is a no no.

Thoughts on Over Optimization for External Factors
BTW. most Forums by default show your signature on all posts you comment on. Unless you change this from the user settings, or un-check the box manually for posts they will show.

Pricing Page vs. No Pricing Page
Yeah this is my argument. We have an SEO quote page and I allready made this clear on the page: http://www.boastingbiz.com/seoquote.html I think having this page and a pricing page is kinda over kill. I guess the real question here is, is it good to have a page for pricing regardless of the content on there? is it something a user looks for like a home page button?

How to get Social Mention from an Expert in A field you know nothing about?
I agree... don't try to wear the client's hat. Big mistake. It doesn't fit. If you are contacting "experts" they will know that you know nothing before you finish speaking two sentences. Get your client to schmooze them,.

Changing a URL structure within a site
Yes it is a WP site. Im reading many opinions on this. I want to move a ranking page 2 levels deeper in the URL structure, does the depth of the page matter at all? is this www.domain/category/page better than this www.domain/category/sub-catagory/page for ranking? I am restructuring an entire site there will be a few pages taken out and a few 301s. Many of the pages have the .html extension (plug-in). I read that its better not to have the .html if we take it out do we need a 301 redirect? can taking the .html out hurt SERP results?

Do links in the nav bar help SEO?
There's nothing wrong with doing this, as long as the "title" attribute is accurate (DON'T spam it with non-relevant keywords), but I haven't seem compelling evidence that it acts as a ranking signal.

Does Google punish sites for Backlinks?
Hi Donnie, Not exactly sure what the question is, but you have an interesting theory. I think it would make a great blog post to present your theory and support it with data and evidence.

Do sites like these really work?
Umm you just have to look at their homepage to see that it's as spammy as anything. Ask yourself this, does it sound too good to be true? I would stay well clear of automated tools like this - unless you want another BMR on your hands - http://www.buildmyrank.com/news/its-been-a-great-run

Creating Case Study Materials
Hi Donnie I think there's a lot of ways to approach this, and it depends on what kind of case study you're making and what's its purpose is. Ask yourself - "what's my desired goal?" What do you want to happen as a result of your case study? Try to put yourself in the shoes of the person/people the case study is for. How much do they know about what you're to present? Oftentimes, I can get too complicated with my case studies and forget to include the basics. Be sure to give a perspective as to how your case fits in with the big picture - especially company goals etc. 3rd Party data - any independent studies you can dig up to support your point of view Screenshots (collect them as you go) - I'm always grabbing screenshots of SERPs etc from the beginning. I know there are few tools out there that can possibly automate this for you. Try to keep them organized by date etc. Lastly, I like to use this general framework; Problem - What was the current situation as you first encountered it? What was the problem? Diagnosis / Plan - What strategy did you put in place to fix things? Break it down into pieces if you can, if you did several things. Outcome - What improved? How did things get better because of the actions you took? Lessons learned - Lastly... what did you learn from the experience and what could you have done better? Hope this helps!! -Dan
