Whats the best way to boost alexa rank?
Alexa is faaaar from accurate as it only uses for sampling browsers with alexa toolbar installed. If for some unknown reason you want to increase it I suggest looking into Amazon Turk services.

Is the eCommerce site Shopify SEO friendly?
Let's export Shopify to OpenCart. OpenCart is designed in a way that all of its pages can be indexed and identified in search engines. So by providing the identification information through Meta Title, Meta Description and Meta keywords, you are making it easier for search engines to get your store data. OpenCart allows the use of search engine optimized URLs for product, category, manufacturer and information pages. SEO keywords are defined per product, category, manufacturer and information page, stored in a database table (url_alias), looked up at each page request, and translated into an internal URL. Here is some SEO tips for optimize OpenCart site: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/11-seo-tips-boost-your-opencart-online-store-sourabh-nagori

Avoiding the penguin slap in the face.
I agree that it certainly should be discussed in advance, but to me it seems petty. It is as if you are saying to the client that their money wasn't enough.

Question regarding the SEOmoz Report Card
First of all, you can run multiple reports for the same URL using different keywords. You can run as many keyword/url reports as you wish, but they will all return a separate grade. More information on running custom reports: http://www.seomoz.org/help/on-page-reports Obviously, there's a limit to how many keywords you can score an "A" with on the same page. If not, Wikipedia could just build a single page that ranked for every keyword in the world (not really, I'm exaggerating Conceptually, Google treats "Miami SEO" and "SEO Miami" as very close. But there are mulitple ways to optimize the same page for both keywords. Vary the keyword in your URL Variations of the keyword in your h1, h2, h3 headers Variations of the keyword in your body text Variations of partial match anchor text in links pointing to the page Links from external websites that themselves are about "miami seo" etc. Instead of creating a page for every possible variation (which the Panda algorythm was designed to target and punish) try creating in-depth content that explores "Miami SEO" completely. You'll rank better for long tail terms, and improve your relevance for the short tail terms as well. As far as high importance factors, there has traditionally been a strong correlation between the keyword position at the front of the title tag and higher rankings. This correlation isn't as strong today, but still exist. http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/title-tag Hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

Category Content Duplication
Categories are your primary keyword topics - the primary topical focus grouping of your blog. They should be the umbrellas that contain underneath them, any articles closely related to those highest level topics. Think of blog categories as the equivalent of main services pages or main product categories in an eCommerce catalog. In order to build authority and trust for a category topic, you need to build depth of content over time under each umbrella. Indexing category archives is the best method for having search engines recognize that depth of content. As such, it's vital to allow these to be indexed. Simultaneously, it's unwise to allow indexing of date based archives because those are going to create potential duplicate content conflicts, either partial or entire duplicate representations.

What type of links should be followed and nofollowed internally?
Not necessarily. Yes, you shouldn't automatically nofollow every external link; however, nofollowed external links versus followed external links have to be treated differently. Especially in cases of online journalism and blogging, it's not unheard of to link to a site that might be unsavory. Using a nofollow in that case (where otherwise, external links are usually followed) would clue crawlers in that "this site might be bad, don't ding us for it". If 95% of your external links are spam/porn, and you nofollow one of those links, then, yes, you should expect to get smacked down. But, when you have a slightly shady in-context link that's nofollowed, and plenty of other good links that are followed, it's not going to be an issue.

How good is Link Assistant Suite? and how good is the SEOmoz API?
I've only got a small amount of experience with this tool set and from that I've made the decision to avoid it. A lot of the sales copy makes me not want to buy it as well - it seems like it would have been great circa 2004 but if you tried to get me to buy it now I'd probably say something rude.

Whats the point of a landing page?
Donnie, I have to agree with Jason. Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landing_page It think it is a great definition. As you can see, any page can be a landing page, and EVERY page should be considered a landing page. You are always trying to get the person who is on your page to do something, whether it is buy a product, download an ebook, sign up for your email newsletter, or click through to the next page. Each landing page does not need its own domain. Otherwise, how would a big brand like Target or Amazon rank for so many terms? Anyhow, I hope this helps, and best of luck.

Yelp, yahoo, local directories..
Hi Donnie, If you're vacating the old address and will be located solely in the new office, you need to change all existent listings and citations to reflect your new address. The reason this is so important is that Google can become very confused if they find two sets of NAP (name, address, phone number) for your business and may not trust your new information because the old info is hanging around out there. As Guy has pointed out, this is a time consuming process. Do a little every day and you can get it done. It really is necessary. Good luck!
